for those who are confused 2.9 users when you go to render view mode u cant see the background.... just go to render properties > go to film > then turn on transparent by ticking the box next to it
Amazing that his dude was able to make a VFX tutorial that needed no rewinds and was quite understandable. Every other video I've seen just left me confused.
Dude this tutorial was freaking awesome. I am a beginner blender user of 2 weeks and I could follow along. My motion tracking solve error was a little higher than recommended (1.57 and there's a noticeable jump in one spot) but it still worked pretty dang well given this is my first vfx project ever. Thx for uploading this!
Mine was 8 years ago with boujou and After Effects, a call of duty clip. Added my name there etc in 3d space, was rly worth it my old acc had tons of views back then
Brilliant mate. I like that you really didn't skip over anything. The majority of the other tutorials I've watched tend to gloss over some of the smaller aspects which they do, without giving instruction. You didn't skip over anything; very well done mate
for those confused if the plane is still visible if youre at 11:08 you need to go to object properties (orange square) scroll down to visibility and next to the word "mask", click shadow catcher. hope this helps anybody ;3
WOW! man you dony have any idea how helpful is your videos for me. I live in Venezuela and can't pay for a course because the communist hyperinflaction only pay us 2 dollar per month of salary. And with your channel I can learn in my own peace. Thank you so much, Jacob.
followed along and made a pretty great result, but I feel like there must be some better way to only render it once with the correct colorspace instead of rendering just the monkey once thru and then rendering again with the stills sequence.
The tutorial was very good, and although im relativly new to blender (about 1 month of use) i did get along well. My only problem was that one day when i will do my own VFX with something else, i just for a life cannot remember the steps of what to do and sadly i wish that especially to help remember you would explain why you put this into that in the nodes so.... the kinda lack of explaining is a problem right there. I dont think that after doing this i will be able to do it correctly again without watching ur vid another 10000 times to remember one step. (i guess its just me being an idiot.) Overall great video!
My video is tracked and my 3d model also following trackers but when I render the animation it doesn't follow the camera and just a PNG of 3d model appears in video Plz plz plz help
Everything works fine for me until I set the floor, my camera seems to aim face down and when I set the scale nothing changes. I would greatly appreciate some help with this!
The reason we do a png sequence instead of a movie clip is because we need the transparent background for our monkey. If it was a movie clip then there would be no alpha channel so the background would be black instead of transparent. We do this method because the monkey and the movie clip don’t share the same color space so we have to render out the monkey separately in order for the monkey and the movie clip to be in the same color space.
dude, i've spent the last hour and a half trying to find a solution to this background issue, and this solution worked. the problem is blender renders the model first and composites the video dead last, so when the render starts it seems like its only the model is going to render. If anyone else is having this issue, just be patient.
Why is my rendering not showing the background ? I see it in the layout. But background is rendering grey. So I have to pre-render the object as image frames and do all that other stuff to get it in the background.
found a solution. - i just had to wait till the render is fully finished. the problem is blender renders the model first and composites the video dead last, so when the render starts it seems like only the model is going to render. If anyone else is having this issue, just be patient.
@@Mangazimusic Thanks for the answer. I did eventually also figure out because I was using a video for a background image I had to select an option in the settings under a category of film. Something about transparent. Forget exactly, would have to tinker with it some more to exactly recall what I did. I did not even consider about the compositor rendering last. Yeah that was throwing me off too. Makes sense now after reading your comment. Thanks again!
Apparently I never followed up, haha, got busy... LIke I said below in other comment. It was something related to film settings under something about transparent. Forget exacly, this was months ago. The comment I commented on below the guy explains it well too for other problems we are having.
The view changing made this difficult for me. I had to pause every view change to figure out how to change the views lol. That might be a helpful tutorial to make if you haven't already.
me too. I've checked most of the comments and apparently for some it works when you click on transparency in the film render properties and put everything in the same collection, but that solution is still not working for me.
