    Excellent video. I'm a huge Suzuki fan. Stared on a 1996 gsxr 750. Just sold my K5 and bought a 2018 gsxr 1000R in white. I do love the blue. White is what they had. Not a big deal, it's growing on me. Nice to see the previous progression. I wanted one after 2017. It really is a 30 year refinement. This suspension is better than my car. It's soooooooo fast. It's crazy fun to just let it rip. No rear hugger and no rear seat cowl thrown in like back in the day. That's my only complaint. I don't give a shit about a color screen and Change the can. Perfect

    I love the classic beefy tail, analog tach, and headlight of the 2009-16, but definitely love the side profile of the new model and that's about it. Prefer either engine and could live with or without the VVT. Old is better for the street. The new one is like entirely dedicated for track and not 1 bit for the street.

    Great review Bro! So pumped to be back on a bike again. I bought a 19’ Gsxr 750 back in January, and plan on riding it till January or February and moving up to a 1000. Again, definitely enjoyed your content and insight into the Gsxr 1000 platform. 🤙🏼

      Yes Sir, and what I have been enjoying is that it only has A and B mode, no ABS, traction control,Etc… so it’s forced me to rely on my skills and focused on becoming a better rider. I have learned more in the past seven months, then I ever did when I had my first street bike back in the late 90’s. Thanks in part to people like you Eric, that take time to help others. So great full to have all this knowledge and information at our finger tips.

    The two do NOT make the same hp, MAYBE bine stock, but were talkin with a filter tune and exhaust the newer models put out about 185whp and over 190 on MR12 fuel whereas the '15 puts out about 165-170 with a filter tune and exhaust.

    This engine still has a counterbalance shaft. It's going to be smoother. The newer model didn't really gain any torque in the mid range, it merely retained the torque, with additional gains up top in spite the shorter stroke engine, different valve train and cam profiles. With the removal of the counterbalance shaft on the new one, more buzz. I don't like more buzz. Personally I'd go with a 15 or 16 with really low miles. Just me.

    • @itsmeericb
      @itsmeericb  4 роки тому

      Lifted_Above Yeah when I rode both they feel similar in power. I do feel the newer one pulls a little harder up top. I personally like the look on the newer model. 🍎 vs 🍊

      @@itsmeericb It would. The centrifugal force at higher RPM drives the VVT ball bearings out in the race, advancing the cam for the top end. It's a simple, elegant, effective, and mechanical system Suzuki used for valve timing advancement.

    Your 2017 Gixer thou was developed by myself across Europe from 2005 to 2015. The design was given the Suzuki GB in April 2015 but the Suzuki team. Refused to pay me for my design!!
    In doing so, I never gave them the R&D data. So every racing team has a -10yr development lesson😂😂😂.
    My payment was 10% for every unit sold & 2x free bikes for the next gen Gixer1000.
    The current bike with the correct package and parts. Is the fastest bike for both Road and Track.

    I like the 2017 and up for sure.. but I like the signals on the mirrors and the rear intergrade on the generation I got. Definitely not a fan of how the front headlights of the older one but like you said it’s better than the 600’s and 750’s for sure! I’m looking into trying to change my front end and cover up that big ass headlight 🥴😂

  • @jeffestrada6857
    @jeffestrada6857 3 роки тому +1

    I like both. I do favour the Triton Blue colour of the older model. I had the 2018 750 and it was awesome. Had plenty of thousands but the 750 was sensational around corners. In fact i had the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja H2 before the Gixxer and it was a beast for sure but not overall as good fun as the Gixxer.
    I thought about the 2017 Gixxer 1000 for a while but went for my third Hayabusa instead as i sometimes have my wife as a pillion and its the best all round motorcycle in my opinion.

    Aight so I raced my first litre bike. But it was a 2015 gsxs 1000 with a full system quick shifter and a tune. Two races from 20mph to 150mph.the first one I absolutely crushed him the whole entire way and the second race I let him start 10ft in front of me and it was the same thing. Absolutely crushed him. Yes I know his bike isn't a Supersport but it has the 2005 gsxr 1000 engine in it. So hopefully next week I get a chance to race my friends r1. He will probably beat me but not by much. I'm a really good rider and I clutchless shift when racing.

      Yeah even though the naked bikes have the same engine as their super sport counterpart, they are detuned. May even be missing a few specific parts.

    • @jeremybly
      @jeremybly 4 роки тому

      Yes that's 100% correct. The transmission gearing is much shorter and it's set up for torque not top speed. His bike is also geared 1 down 2 up so I expected him to get the jump on me but I'm guessing because my first gear is so long I started in it and he started in second because of shorter gearing so that also gave me an advantage. But either way the victory is nothing to brag about but it was good practice for when I race the gsxr 1000 or r1.

    Man it’s weird how taste can vary so much. The new GSXR’s are the ugliest in a long time to me personally. The tail is lame and kinda ripped off the 2012 Fireblade. The headlight looks like an asshole compared to all other eras and most other manufacturers. The 09-16 is easily the cleanest most aggressive looking era. And that tail with the seat cover on...MMM!! The lines are menacing. And there’s just a faint curve up making it look so so so good.
