- This Rare Video of the Cool-Notes was thought lost forever when it was found recently in the attic of Steve McIntosh, it features the original members of the band, Roddy Shaw on Drums, brother Derick Shaw on lead guitar, Loxley williams on rhythm guitar and the late Charles Keymist on bass who sadly died in 1986. more info go to www.cool-notes

Had the pleasure of meeting lead singer and another male vocalist and his LOVELY girlfriend at a soul weekend in weymouth last week...they both still look so young, This tune was 1978, they both looked AMAZING...PLAYED new version of never too young to sample of mellow mellow..Lowell ...simply SUPERB xx

My favorite Cool Notes track EVER. I was 8 or 9yrs old when this came out. Its been a regular tune through out my life and one that ALWAYS got played when it was time for Lovers Rock at our dances and parties right up to and through the 90's. Never gets old in my house. I liked the pop stuff...as a kid... but it wasnt Lovers Rock. Their shift into pop and early soul was nice, but those tracks very rarely got played when I " raved".

I heard this playing yesterday when I walked past a butcher's shop in Portobello Road yesterday and I went in to ask what it was as I just had to hear it again. It sounded familiar so wasn't surprised to learn it was the Cool Notes as I have some of their singles from back in the day, but somehow had never heard this one. This is now added to my favourites!

I used to go see them every Thursday at the George Canning pub in Brixton (now Hootenanny). It was the highlight of the week and always a great atmosphere. The apple didn't fall far from the tree; Steve and Lorraine's son Bradley being a member of S Club 7

I seen the cool notes on the top of the pops episodes reruns on BBC four but I never knew they were going way back in the day different style reggae instead of soul alongside hi tension started off the Brit funk movement.
