This is the original In your Car video shot in West London in July 1985 - The single reached no.13 & was in the charts for 9 weeks. www.cool-notes.co.uk
Classic tune! I remember partying to this in many of the theme pubs in the Old Kent Road in South London back in the Summer of 1985...aahh those memories.
I had this on a top 40 tape I'd recorded from the radio back in the day. The tape chewed up shortly after I'd recorded it, and this is my first time hearing his sing since then. Thank you internet, and my tenacious memory.
Andrew Hardingham, People nowadays haven't got the emotional depth to understand music like this, unless they were around at the time. they only understand robotic drone played on repetitive beat, people just don't hear music the same way, and now it's all about can i workout to it, or can i play it in the background on low volume, it's tragic
Ahhh memories. I met you guys back in the 80’s. You did a spot for my cousin Neil who had a sound system called Distincshun and if I remember right, it was in Osterley. I was a cheeky little kid and Lauraine (I think) gave me a hug. I still play Spend The Night to this day. Classic. Actually, Spend The Night and You Can’t Hide Your Love (David Joseph) are my getting ready to go out tracks. 🙏🏾
In those days bands like ours were so lucky to get a video made because it was so expensive back then. You had to have a hit first, so lucky for us we did get a hit. Thanks take care and ‘Feel the love’ ❤️
@@Cocoa13 I discovered them by accident one day and later on my uncle who was in the Navy told me about them and said that they're from the UK and not the states. I was severely shocked lol

The Yamaha DX7 ROM-1A patch "Brass 2" as the descending synth brass chords was heard in this song.
Why wasn't this song more popular ?
Because it’s not Michael Jackson
Miguel Albarracin I’m not sure how their promotion was in the US. They’re from the UK. Love em 💕
It was a top 20 hit in the UK in summer 1985.

So glad that the vaporwave community picked this band out of the ether for me.

Video shot under the Westway, by Latimer road W10
I immediately thought it was the Westway as I live almost under it further along near Paddington. The scrap yard, M Gold, has long gone.
@@MsPeperonata I think there's only one raised road like this in the whole of London, which is amazing given how big London is.

Reminds me of uk 5 star but missing their suits with the big right angle shoulder pads
far better than the nonse five star
Playing this in my ‘86 vette really need me a lady, a cold brew & a drive around the beach top down.
Another song called In Your Car is by Kenickie, and is totally different to this great performance.
