This lens from the 60's is fascinating.

this video couldn't be timely enough
reminds me of my love for my 1960s 35mm nippon kogaku (nikkor) f2.8!!
i bought it off keh as i think my second lens literally for the aesthetic esp when paired with the k&h concept nikon g to sony e adapter, it just looks beautiful
ended up enjoying it's character a LOT on my a7r mk1 despite how soft it was especially for closer focus shots
switched to a fujifilm xt4 and i've fallen in love with vintage lenses when they're on apsc, as they lose a lot of it's character that i loved cropped
then i bought a nikkormat ftn in order to once again enjoy the lenses (nippon kogaku 35mm f1.4, nikkor s 50mm f1.4, & nippon kogaku 135mm f2.8)
but i can't shoot film realistically very often as a broke colleg estudent
but it's been 7 months owning the xt4 and i'm really missing my love for vintage lenses
so i bought a speedbooster a day or two ago and i hope i can fall in love with the 35mm and my other lenses once more :)
absolutely on you with using lenses from this era !! great watch !!

A great lens! The tilt-shift version of that lens was used for a music video from Massive Attack - "Take it There". A Canon TS 35mm 2,8 S.S.C if I'm not entirely wrong.
    Here are my favorites: Canon FD 50mm 1.2, Biotar 58mm 1.5, Helios 40-2, Biometar 80 2.8, Takumar 105 2.4.

I'm a fan of the Helios 40-2 as well. I have a few copies of it and really enjoy the look it gives.

Question: do you see the blade closes and widen when you touch the aperture ring? Or was it designed to kept wide open and blade only closes when you hit the shutter?

When adapted for digital cameras the aperture only changes when you manually adjust it, so no closing when the shutter is pressed.

I'm shook at the fact you called a 50 a telephoto.
