My small town of Port Alberni Vancouver Island BC Canada had a single CLM directional siren tower installed in the early 1960’s at the height of the Cold War I was fascinated by it from my earliest childhood and young adult years although the siren had not been powered up since the late 60’s but did get regular tests and maintenance (without actual siren power) up to the late 1980’s it was removed in the mid 90’s.
I do have some decent footage of a Chrysler that I took at the Ft. MacArthur Great LA Air Raid event a few years ago, but I am trying to flesh out the story of the siren a bit more before posting anything. Many have asked for me to visit one and I'm really looking forward it myself!
