    Do you struggle with diabetic foot pain? Get relief with these foot and ankle exercises.
    Diabetes is one of the most common reasons people seek relief from painful feet. That's because when you have diabetes, you are constantly living with high blood sugar levels. The problem is that over the long term, these elevated levels can deteriorate and damage nerves. Specifically, the nerves that are most susceptible are in the hands and feet. Once these nerves break down, it causes the pain you may be feeling. Diabetic foot pain is commonly described by patients as tingling, burning, sharp, shooting, and lightning-like. Other unpleasant symptoms include numbness, feelings of feet and legs being "asleep," or prickling or crawling sensations.
    What can be done for diabetic foot pain relief?
    Although there is currently no cure for this complication of diabetes, optimal glucose control helps to prevent diabetic foot pain. That means managing your glucose levels through living a healthy lifestyle, eating well, and exercising is powerful in providing long-term relief with positive side effects.
    Foot exercises, massage, and using foot rolling devices are excellent ways to help keep those muscles and joints from becoming stiff. Exercises focused on the foot and ankle can bring great benefits. Improving range of motion can positively affect gait, pressure distribution, and risk of foot ulceration. Here are some great foot and leg exercises for anyone managing the condition of diabetic foot pain neuropathy.
    These exercises can be done from a chair or the floor. Before starting, take a moment to get the body into good postural alignment with the shoulders back and down and the spine lengthened.

If you struggle with diabetic foot pain, you should have your feet visually and manually inspected every day. Be prudent, be cautious and follow the rules of good health!

    Hi Caroline - I’m an 81 year-old Australian guy with type 2 diabetes. I’ve been doing these foot and leg exercises for some weeks now and have obtained almost total relief from the neuropathic aches and pains that have recently been affecting my right leg.     I'm a juvenile diabetic, so this is awesome! I workout daily, was afraid I would lose my shape and muscles I've worked so hard for, my diabetes and neuropathy have caused foot and leg issues, years of diabetes. So, thank you for these!!

    I got up at 3 with feet stiffness and pain. I saw your video and did the foot exercises as shown and explained so nicely. Like a magic the pain vanished. I promise to do the same couple of times a day and definately before going to sleep. Got bless you Madam.

      Foot masage with olive oil or mustard oil before sleeping helps a lot too specially under the feet.

    I know I am late but this is a REALLY good exercise. It is crazy as I work in the hospital learning that we don't exercise our overworked hands and FEET. We are on them all the time and NEVER consider to exercise them. As a diabetic I am grateful for this exercise.

    Hi Caroline, finally, relief! Through back pain, I have for years had pain from my left hip down the left leg and in the left foot. With lockdown and only doing housework etc, I thought it would be enough but not! This morning I started off with Diabetic exercises 1, 2 & 3 plus the feet exercise and feeling great! The foot exercise worked and I do not have pain in the arch of my left foot. I was busy for 45 minutes but remember I am slow side but do keep up just cannot do the bending but I improvise with your other ways. I so happy I found you on UA-cam - you make the exercise so easy. I'm 71, type 2 diabetic, and on high blood pressure meds which I keep under control. Looking forward to tomorrow morning exercises with you on my laptop! Thank you

    My left ankle does not do rotations well..hard goin down stairs too. Nerve damage in both feet. Constant tingling stabbing etc🥺 ouch! Fanning toes hurts... these are great exercises..I will try to do daily. My last dr visit my dr told me about picking things up with my toes. I hav hard time with left foot that’s my worst foot. But I’m getting better

      I can relate with you..I can't rotate my left ankle nor bend any of my toes...very painful stabbing pain.deep throbbing tingling in toes.skin extremely tender to touch..my 2 toes on right foot are going numb also. And the strange thing is all this seem to happen overnight.. all my doctors are puzzled

    Hi beautiful.. me 45, diabetic since 10 years, now am with cervical shoulder and neck pain which leads to headache...

    Thank you so much,since last year I was in severe pains,first I was using an aid to move around,one day I thought to massage my feet and ankles using Vaseline I felt relieved,so i was doing massage everyday. Today I saw your video and started to exercise with you,I feel better.thank you.

    Wow thanks for very important tips.
    I am type 2 diabetic i diagnosed since 2019 and i felt always my booth feets are burning sensations.

    Thank you Caroline for this and other videos for people with diabetes. They help me a lot! I found you channel when I thought I have diabetes. It was 6 months ago. I didn’t exercise before and started to do 4min hiit and also used 10lb dumbbells. I think they were too heavy for me or I lifted them wrong. 3 month later I found out I have pelvic organ prolapse and now afraid to use heavy dumbbells or do other exercises that can make the prolapse worse. But at the same time I realized finally the importance of exercise and want to exercise everyday. Can you please advise what section of exercises on your channel would be safe for women with prolapse? Thank you very much!

    I use to go to gym, do running and play cricket as well but because of diabetes my feet were paining a lot but because of these simple exercises it became ok. Thanks for your kind information.

    Honestly, I have had foot pain for the past few months, every night in bed it just hurt so bad… did these and they really help
