With the amazing success of The Misfits reunion shows, its a shame that this is whats left of Black Flag. With the right help, Greg could have put together a band that lived up to those old performances but instead its Mike V telling kids not to stage dive. Sigh.
This was an absolutely crazy pick for a headliner. This set was like watching a jam band doing Black Flag Karaoke and it all dragged on forever in front of a nearly empty room. It honestly felt like a mockery of a band that was super important to me growing up. womp womp
honestly this doesn't sound completely horrible the biggest problem is the tempo of the songs are way too slow and it loses a lot of its aggression that way. rise above feels like it's almost at halftime...its just doesn't hit like it should.
It's crazy that people are just noticing this is bad. I saw them with Mike several years ago. I'm 44 and it was one of the worst shows i I've ever seen. Flag with Keith and the guys is the only good black flag left.

They should’ve got FLAG to play instead. Keith, Dez, Bill, Chuck and Egerton would’ve shit all over this rubbish. Saw Greg’s version of black flag 10 years ago and it made me want to cover up my black flag tattoo unfortunately.
Because you don't care about music and never understood what punk is about? Have fun in your little narrow minded world where everything was so much better back when you were young.
@@scumXskates I've seen Flag clips, and that sounded way more energetic. I'd heard how bad Black Flag shows were, and that's why I never watched any. But I was curious haha.
Oh Greg.... Now I remember why I walked out of that Black Flag show @ the Hollywood Palladium so many years ago. This music is deceptively challenging. Without ROBO or Bill Stevenson on drums..., Chuck Dukowski on bass..., sound and rhythms leave a lot to be desired. Mike Valley, I know you are trying but you sound like a singer attempting to imitate Henry Rollins. Dez was one of the best vocalists (my opinion). Greg, you should be offering your listening public a better product.
@sigmundhightower1766 I HONESTLY HATED HIS VOCALS..... ESPECIALLY IN GIMME GIMME GIMME!!! I DID FEEL THE ROLLINS VIBE TOO! YOU AREN'T ALONE WITH YOUR OPINIONS...AS I SHARE THE SAME THOUGHTS!!! ITS COOL THAT THE BLACK FLAG NAME IS STILL OUT THERE ACTIVE.......BUT IT SOUNDS MORE LIKE A BLACK FLAG COVER BAND!
I will say that seeing FLAG however many years ago was probably one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, and Keith is my favorite BF singer. But, this really doesn’t sound bad at all for a bunch of old dudes playing music one of them wrote as a teen/young adult 🤷♂️
Who is the drummer and on bass. Thought they killed it!!! Looking at the comments below I think I watched a different show. But, process of weeding out?? I guess
I have to give Greg credit where credit is due. He’s up there in age, and he’s out touring. Touring sucks at 20! Could it be better? Definitely. But time sadly moves fast and Greg’s prime has long since passed, but at least he’s still giving it what he’s got. Some rehearsal before embarking on a tour could have helped tremendously though…I don’t care what band you are or how old you are, you have to practice to be good live. Hopefully they pick up the pace a bit by the time they get here in 4 days. Last time I saw them, was so long ago now it’s hard to swallow. But they used to rip. One of the best bands I ever saw live.
As a huge and obsessive black flag fan who likes albums like The Process of Weeding Out throughly, I have to say this sucks. Why is the bassist butchering Slip it In?? I think they turned every song into a jam session like the grateful dead did it (I know greg is a self-admitted fan of them) but it sucks and makes the whole band look completely lacking in cohesion. Vocalist isn’t even that bad if they were doing less idiotic noodling on the tracks that weren’t written with that in mind. I feel like if they were actually playing the songs this would have been a decent live performance
Greg was the head, Hank was the mouth, Duke was the heart and Raymond was the soul... now when I hear this, the music only goes into my head and nowhere else. I guess there was only two eras: Duke era and Kira/Bill era...
