      My P261 has a weird issue where it’ll just power up for have a second when I hit the switch and then just turn off. I’m hesitant to send it in for warranty repair because they’ll probably say it’s fine and then I’m stuck with paying the fee to send it in. $159 seems like a good deal to me right now anyway since it’s twice the torque.

    Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

    I've been hoping and waiting for Ryobi to step up with a more powerful 1/2 impact wrench. My P261 is one of my most used tools, but it just doesn't have the power to break larger fasteners (like on control arms) loose. Looks like Ryobi answered the call. Definitely getting this when it comes out.

Currently have the P261 and it’s been good but there have been a few times I needed more breakaway force and had to pull out the air impact. I do a lot of automotive work. I think this line looks more promising than those so called compact line that was announced before. I like what I am seeing with new impact wrenches, but they need to keep the prices more affordable. I think the whole purpose of Ryobi is like having a separate line from Milwaukee, so you don't have to pay premium for every tool you don't really use often.

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  3 роки тому +1

      It is a bit confusing that the price is getting pushed up pretty close to the Milwaukee line...and performance as well. The legitimate gap between the two made the decisions much easier. It does seem to be getting a little muddy/gray now. The great part is, both are making great power tools right now. Thanks for watching.

      I think the new ryobi, might come close to matching the gen 1 mid torque. But it won’t out perform the second gen. Milwaukee is TTIs flagship. So they won’t let ryobi beat a fuel.

    • @kartboarder22g17
      @kartboarder22g17 3 роки тому +1

      @@juanc5149 well of course not, I'm just wondering how much larger is it then the new mid-torque and what is the weight comparison? Cause honestly if you are in Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, or another tool brand it almost makes sense to be in Ryobi too just because they offer some cheap little tools that are beneficial. Like glue gun, hand held inflator that works great when doing wood projects, etc. Plus this new Ryobi is only like $160 compared to the Milwaukee mid torque at $220.

    • @drjd2real
      @drjd2real 3 роки тому +1

      After actually using the Ryobi stuff I don't really care about the comparisons anymore. I'm not stupid. I know Milwaukee is better, but it is overkill for my needs. If Ryobi was cutting out or smoking I would have been moved on to another brand. They will keep on making them stronger because my new Ryobi are stronger than my older Ridgid.

    I guess DeWalt and Milwaukee will have to come out with a 700 ft-lbs+ impact now to up the game. Looks very similar to the DeWalt XR impacts that were out back in 2017. The auto mode looks pretty cool though. Now that HYTORC that you have for setting up the test is a super beast! Nice clamp holding down your test rig too!

    Hmmm - TTI is making it a tough decision between Ryobi, Ridgid, and Milwaukee. Ridgid and Ryobi seem close, but Ridgid has the lifetime warranty and Ryobi has more tools and both are cheaper than Milwaukee. Milwaukee is the way to go if your a professional and don't mind spending more money. I think the Ridgid's 1/2 impact mid-torque is rated at 620 ft-lbs.

    the Ryobi is just inconsistent af that's why 4 anomalies were found. torque test channel shows they tested all types of scenarios on the gun to see why it's inconsistent it is unknown but I think it's their shitty battery designs like always because if you put a Dewalt battery on it it will turn consistent every time 300+ torque tightening.
