It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.
My oldest Ryobi tool is probably nearly 20 years old, the newest a couple of months. The great thing is that the oldest tools work on my newest batteries (which are much better than the batteries of 20 years ago). That consistency is valuable to me

I still need their new ratchet and their new 1/2 impact like you showed in this video and I also want their 3/8 impact. My son gave me a Milwaukee 1/2 and 3/8 impact so I want to compare them to the Ryobi ones. I've never had Milwaukee tools. I will be getting the Ryobi ones as soon as I can and will do a video on them for sure...
It’s awesome of Ryobi to send me this stuff. I have been using their tools for years and never had a problem. I have received hate also from guys but I don’t care the tools have worked great for me.
Just bought the 1/2" impact wrench to use to replace the front brakes and rotors on my 2016 Ram 1500. I used the 4ah battery and had no problem removing the lug nuts and 2 21mm caliper bolts (which were rusted and very tight). To get to the caliper bolts I used an extension and universal impact joint and it didn't affect the impact wrench at all. Very impressed with the power for the price.
Just bought the 1/2” impact wrench and the new HD power ratchet, and I have to agree- great performance at their price point and plenty durable for my DIY projects. The 4ah batteries have passed the good-enough test for all of my automobile diy repairs- no issues with power or longevity of charge. I know the 6 and 9 ah give added oomph, but I haven’t had the need for it.
It's not old and new. The 600 ft lbs one is their mid range torque wrench and the larger one is their high torque one. That's why the size and power is so greatly different.
Ryobi tools are GREAT quality, value and innovative tools. Battery swap ease was my initial attaction but since realize these are awesome tools, My son initially made fun of my Ryobi tools but how realizes they are awesome tool and has many Ryob tools of his own now!
I accidentallly started with Ryobi when I found a grinder with two batteries and a charger for only $99 about two years ago. Since then, I have been buying more tools when I can afford it. There is a tool discount store that features mostly Ryobis at an Outlet Mall a few miles south of here and I like going there once in a while! My next tool will have to be a 3/8 wrench! Thanks!
Get the 1/4 smaller head. And is at 50ft lbs. plenty strong enough. Believe it or not, I have yet to max mine out. It will twist your arm off if you ain’t holding it. Best cordless ratchet on the market. Until dewalts gets here.
I just ordered the impsct wrench with 3 batteries and charger all for 199.00. Great deal from Ryobi days promotion at home depot. All that is usually almost 2x what I paid. It will arrive in a few days. Neverooked so forward to rotating my tires.

I got the extended ratchet a couple years ago by far my favorite tool I’ve ever owned. Use it for everything in the garage. Finally got the high impact and I’m excited to add it to my collection lol
Question for you sir all I am trying to acquire is the impact wrench and Battery to keep in the back of my SUV so when I'm taking a road trip with the wife I'm not using a breaker bar to take off the lug nuts and tighten them back up. I found what I'm guessing to be the older style half inch which is a p-61 for about $80 new recording to the person selling it. I have 2-hour batteries. Because I've only been using the drill or the circular saw or the wrench which I already own. The specs on my tires lug nuts call for $140 foot pounds. Considering I may not use the gun for 3 years or I may use it three times in one year depending on the flat tire luck I have do you feel the older p-61 half inch can break 140 lb with a 2-hour battery? @@mrobvious1100 I think you would be better off with the newer model. 140 ft/lbs is gonna give the smaller one a run for its money. It may be able to break them free but it might struggle which will wear your battery down faster.

Do you believe a 4-Hour or 6-hour battery gives the do half inch impact wrench more performance or the battery doesn't have anything to do with the punch
Great video! I recently got the older 3/8 ratchet with a charger and 2 battery for $80, and the new high torque impact for $150 with charger and 4ah battery from Home Depot. Hard to beat those prices

The one you are calling the "old" is Mid Torque impact wrench with 600ft-lbs breakaway and 450ft-lbs fasten (model p262) and the "newer" is the High Torque Impact Wrench with 1170 Ft-Lbs breakaway Torque and 700 Ft-Lbs Fastening Torque (model PBLIW01B)
Yeah you got it right...the so called "old model" would also have undone all those nuts as well without breaking a sweat...I reckon big brother is good for working on big trucks etc, cause of its weight, I would find it a pain doing car repairs etc at home.I have the P262 and it is magic, never had a nut it could not undo.Very powerful.
Brian I just picked up the P262 new super cheap. The new version is sweet, but was more than i need. I needed a 1/2" impact and this fit the bill. As always your videos are superb.
@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Father's day came rolling around and got me one of the 1070 ft/lb breakaway torque impact wrenches from Ryobi so I can go back to changing my own oil and rotating tires. Its amazing to me how my pneumatic air wrench can't break the lugnuts on my car but this Ryobi doesn't even break a sweat.
Im a mecanic as well in sweden. Just a tip since u seem to also have rust belt situation. Bosh makes a great brake grease that i use for the hub and that stuff as well. Trust me the wheel never gets stuck the brakedisks never get stuck its just awsome. Thanks for the vid awsome to se some people showing that ryobi is still in the game
I damaged the tendons in my hands wrenching on rusty old cars in Indiana. After having hand surgery, I’ll only work on cars now if power tools are involved. Nice review of the electric ratchet. I’ll be getting one soon to replace my Milwaukee M12.

I use my Ryobi tools every day way back to the crappy ni-cad's and yes those batteries were junk but the tools were awesome and I still use them and I am grateful they sorted out the battery issues and every tool I owned since then has been professional quality just cant see paying twice as much for another brand with the same specs.
I just bought the Ryobi high impact half-inch drive it works it's spectacular..... I did buy the 600-pound one and it would not break my lug nuts on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee... I paid $199 for it and I got the 4-Hour amp battery with the charger for $108 best money I ever spent... I wanted Milwaukee the Ryobi does just get a job and it's cheaper than the Milwaukee with a battery and charger....
Why would anyone EVER purposely over tighten a torque specified fastener? You could have just as easily used AUTO, then torqued them with your calibrated wrench.
If you are taking about the hub bolts then there is no reason to worry about torquing them because you aren’t going to break that big of a bolt with an impact but it will be tight enough to not come loose.
@@jeffbucknam7393 When it comes to cars, SUV’s and regular trucks I use an impact on low then torque the rest of the way. Did it for 20 years no problems. On heavy duty equipment I was taught to just tighten them down with the impact. Whether that was right or wrong I don’t know but I never had any issues with lug nuts coming loose. Also if I get a flat on the van I’m getting it towed I wouldn’t trust a little scissor jack with all that weight in it.
I've seen lug nuts break off when over tightened. Trailer tire passed tow vehicle going down the road after over tightening with the big Milwaukee gun. All 5 lugs sheered right off. Not as uncommon as one would think. Loved the review I would not hesitate one second buying either of those. I have all DeWalt but just picked up the battery adaptor for Ryobi. Was going to get the $88 chain saw from home Depot but it looked just to cheaply made. Going to grab the Ryobi tire inflator instead. I wouldn't mind that ratchet at all but have not seen one at the store yet.
Ryobi makes some great tools. I love the little inflator I just wish it had a lock button on the trigger so you don’t have to hold it on a really low tire. I got a heavy duty rubber band to hold the trigger down so I could set it down and let it work. Thanks for watching
I am buying ther brushless extended hp ratchet. I have 1/2" crasfts man impact but i am curious if the 3/8" impact is the same as the 1/2" like alot or companies do wi5h their mid torq impacts
@@jowensblack48 It has to be seized up then. Ive removed rusty axle nuts, brake caliper bracket bolts, I’ve done shocks and struts with mine. I live in Indiana and our cars rust like crazy and mine hasn’t had a single problem.
I'm a newbie into diy. I have a Miata and I have all kinds of stuck bolts on it. The cranckshaft one was the hardest to undo, but I now have an M6 bolt stuck in the block holding the thermostat housing. Would this type of wrench work for that bolt or would it just break it to pieces?
Well. I know that so far I can't complain too much about my Ryobi 1/2 inch hammer drill. It's the brushed model. I had bought it cause I couldn't find battery packs ( Nicad ) for my old Makita 3/8 's drill. Anyhow, I work in the sand and gravel industry. We had an electric 1/2 inch Hitachi drill that crapped out on me. I mainly used it for installing conveyor belt splice clips. I had never intended to use my Ryobi for work but I needed something that would do the job unitil the company had gotten a replacement drill. Well needless to say. I've been using it ever since and that was over two years ago and still use it to this day. There was one occasion that I was doing patch work on a rock crusher feed belt and a co worker knocked it off and it fell from 12 feet onto concrete slab. First thing I thought knowing it wasn't a high end tool that it was a gonner, well to my surprise it's been working still to this day and the insident happened two years ago. I guess it's hit or miss with some tool brands. Maybe mine was built on a Wednesday??🤔🤔
I'm a Ryobi fan boy but I'm ready for a new slimmer battery design. I know they say they never change their batteries and most love that but the technology has changed so much. They can easily make a battery that just goes into the handle now.
Yeah but Ryobi is all about one battery for all tools which is more convenient and cost effective, also with this setup you have the option of using different sized capacity batteries suited for your needs. Yes a big block at the end can get in the way sometimes in the instance of certain projects but not usually. With a stick battery that fits in a handle you do not have the flexibility of added power options across all your tools or to be able to power them all. You obviously aren't going to be able to run your weed whacker with a small stick battery. Also with a battery that fits in the handle you are limited on the ergonomic design of the handle.
I hope they never change the battery . You must have like 2 Ryobi tools. If you have dozens of Ryobi tools you would understand why the battery should never change. Who cares if they can save an inch on the battery it's not worth losing 4000 dollars worth of tools by changing the battery design to save an inch.
Plus if you have a full set of older blue Ryobi tools the newest ryobi batteries will still work for those 20 year old tools. I hope they keep the same battery design for another 20 years.
@@jalee6587 I have a very large collection of Ryobi as I am somewhat of a Ryobi fan freak. With that said there is a point we are coming to quickly where there would be no reason to have Ryobi anymore as the technology changes and they become obsolete. In the past and even now there hasn't been much discovery in battery technology so Ryobi hasn't had to change anything. Now with new discovery and research the future looks different. Same happened with vacuum tube TV's. For many many years tv didn't change much then plasma, lcd, led and now OLED happened. This would be like Ryobi staying with tube TV's in the future. It's not here now but will be quick
I wonder how this high torque performs with the standard 4AH batteries. I have a bunch of them and it would be great if it will do 400-500 lbs tightening and 600-700 lbs removing nuts with the older batteries.

Was that #1 setting or #3 setting that torqued it to above 140 ft/ lbs ? I'm trying to figure out what torque specs are per setting 1,2 & 3 so i dont over torque on a regular vehicle
I have Dewalt 18v XRP tools and debated on replacing them with a 20v system but decided it was more feasible to just get the 20v adapter than replacing all my 18v tools. If there was a tool that Dewalt did not offer and I had to get it from another maker then a Ryobi would be one of my first choices because of the battery system and the wide assortment of tools they have available using the same battery system and the cost. Sure some other manufacturers may have a better performing tool maybe but the Ryobi is more affordable and will likely still get the job done also.
Ryobi gets bashed a lot but they have never let me down and I use them all the time. The wide range of products that take the same battery is what makes Ryobi tools so good in my opinion. Plus they are priced very reasonable. Thanks for watching
@@johnmiller7682 the 18v are NiCD and the 20v are li-ion. The NiCD batteries may have better shelf life and more charging cycles but they also suffer from drain from sitting and memory effect and should be drained before recharging and thus requiring some maintenance for people who don't use them on a regular basis like a contractor other wise they will fail quicker. The Li-ion batteries do not have the issues I mentioned thus will probably better for people who use them occasionally. Although they have less charge cycles. The size and weight difference makes a difference also.
Never tried it on a crank bolt as o never used it at my job these are my home tools. I would say if it is a factory tight Honda crank bolt then probably not. Usually need a 3/4 impact for those unless they have been off before. Keyword is “most”!
Well when you do a lot of braking in a big heavy van you don’t want the brakes getting so hot you get brake fade because you will crash. Not only that but these made a huge difference on stopping power. Before if I had to get on the brakes hard it was sketchy. Now it is less sketchy. 😂

Coming from only using a low end dewalt impact driver, I think i'm going to love this thing for working on my GTI and BRZ. I'll get the ratchet too eventually. Looks very handy for suspension work.
Impressive tool. Overtorquing can break bolts. You come off the highway and heat up the brakes and hub and POP... There goes your overtorqued lugs. Look on the ground at traffic lights at the end of exit ramps. Extensions do not effect torque value on torque wrenches.
On a passenger car or truck I always torque to spec but these bigger lug nuts and big studs we don’t worry about it. Extensions will absolutely change your torque value. There is a reason when torquing head bolts the manufacturers state to not use extensions. They twist and flex which will definitely change your torque values.

Yes but the majority of my tools were at my work. My tools I have at home aren’t as nice as my work tools are because I don’t want to buy the same tools twice if that makes sense.
The PBLIW01B is the bigger (high-torque) one. The P262 is the smaller (mid-torque) impact wrench in the video (and I'm not talking about the cordless RATCHETS in the beginning). The PBP004 refers to the 4Ah battery that is bundled together with those impact wrenches at places like Home Depot.

I got mad at Ryobi a few years back and I also got mad at Home Depot for their policy. This was before Ryobi went to the thicker battery and better battery charger. I have 3 Ryobi tools and 2 older battery chargers and I had 4 Ryobi batteries(old Style). I would alternate the batteries on the chargers, but they still went dead on me. They weren't even a year old. I went to Home Depot where I bought the tools and batteries and chargers. They could only give me a slip of green paper with Ryobi's phone # for battery issues. I called, they wanted the serial numbers off each battery and the serial # off of each charger. What a hassle and they told me that those batteries were no longer under warranty since they had replaced them with the thicker battery. I was mad at Ryobi for not making it right and I was mad at Home Depot for not standing behind a product that they were selling. Any way I needed to weed eat and I thought I would give the new battery and charger a try. The new battery and charger have held up good. I might invest in a couple more batteries and another charger and this impact wrench while I'm at it. Glad they changed battery models

I'm thinking of buying this impact. I have the old one which works great and didn't see any reason to upgrade to the first brushless one but this one might just be worth it. I do like the automatic features on both but the one I have is only like 300fp so does not really need it on that one. I work on my own vehicles but other then that really don't have much of a need for it other then I like it a lot lol. I may need it one day but haven't yet. The only thing I use mine for is taking wheels off and sometimes brake caliper bolts but their usually not very difficult on smaller vehicles. Maybe a occasional strut bolt or something like that. I love ryobi and have been using for a very long time. So long I have the original in working condition very first lithium ion tools. I still have a couple nickel cadmium tools I don't use. I first purchased ryobi ni-cad when my Dewalt got stolen and I needed a drill asap so I bought ryobi and I loved it and I've stuck with them every since. The only brushless I have is the one handed Sawzall which is awesome and the hammer drill which is also awesome. I believe the skillsaw is also brushless but can't remember. Yes I know Sawzall and skillsaw is a brand name belonging to Milwaukee & skill but everyone calls it that just like channel locks which is the only brand pliers I use lol. I do use Milwaukee, Makita, and Dewalt power tools but all my battery tools 100% ryobi. A lot of the reason is because I have so many and a ton of batteries already but also because they have never let me down and the price is right. I use them on the job and I don't care when anyone thinks lol. Milwaukee makes ryobi anyway lol.
Get it now...it's a hundred bucks if you buy 4 tools...still a hundred bucks if you cancel the other three ;) but I'd keep the batteries...2x 4ah hps for 100 more. Check out the buy more save more event a home depot

Changing their battery the brands entire core idea. Their batteries new and old work on every tool since the 80's. I love them for that. I have 4 batteries that power an army of tools.
You get plenty of power without a hp battery, I've used a 1.5ah with the high torque to take off tractor tires and truck tires only time I needed an hp battery was for the yolk nut changing a pinion seal on a Dana 80
That's not a impact wrench that's a wrench 🔧 it doesn't impact the impact wrench is the p262...... If you had the Milwaukee you wouldn't have to adjust the head 😂

Purchased a Ryobi battery chainsaw and so far it's worked well. I own a few newer Ryobi products and they've yet to fail me.
They have never let me down either!
The van is in fairly good shape...hardly any rust. Makes a nice stress free repair. I have the ratchet and it is a life saver.

Battery impacts are worth weight in gold, I have the dewalt 1/2” impact and just love it

Great video! I recently got the older 3/8 ratchet with a charger and 2 battery for $80, and the new high torque impact for $150 with charger and 4ah battery from Home Depot. Hard to beat those prices

It's not a new version. It's the high tq model. The mid tq model is a current model. They have a mid tq and a high tq impact in the line up.
The one you are calling the "old" is Mid Torque impact wrench with 600ft-lbs breakaway and 450ft-lbs fasten (model p262) and the "newer" is the High Torque Impact Wrench with 1170 Ft-Lbs breakaway Torque and 700 Ft-Lbs Fastening Torque (model PBLIW01B)
Yeah you got it right...the so called "old model" would also have undone all those nuts as well without breaking a sweat...I reckon big brother is good for working on big trucks etc, cause of its weight, I would find it a pain doing car repairs etc at home.I have the P262 and it is magic, never had a nut it could not undo.Very powerful.

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing Father's day came rolling around and got me one of the 1070 ft/lb breakaway torque impact wrenches from Ryobi so I can go back to changing my own oil and rotating tires. Its amazing to me how my pneumatic air wrench can't break the lugnuts on my car but this Ryobi doesn't even break a sweat.

Im a mecanic as well in sweden. Just a tip since u seem to also have rust belt situation. Bosh makes a great brake grease that i use for the hub and that stuff as well. Trust me the wheel never gets stuck the brakedisks never get stuck its just awsome. Thanks for the vid awsome to se some people showing that ryobi is still in the game

I damaged the tendons in my hands wrenching on rusty old cars in Indiana. After having hand surgery, I’ll only work on cars now if power tools are involved. Nice review of the electric ratchet. I’ll be getting one soon to replace my Milwaukee M12.

Does Ryobi make boots for the 1/2 inch impact wrenches?
I use makita for work, but for stuff around the house, I use ryobi and use a adapter to use makita batteries on ryobi tools.
I use my Ryobi tools every day way back to the crappy ni-cad's and yes those batteries were junk but the tools were awesome and I still use them and I am grateful they sorted out the battery issues and every tool I owned since then has been professional quality just cant see paying twice as much for another brand with the same specs.

I did buy the 600-pound one and it would not break my lug nuts on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee...
I paid $199 for it and I got the 4-Hour amp battery with the charger for $108 best money I ever spent...
I wanted Milwaukee the Ryobi does just get a job and it's cheaper than the Milwaukee with a battery and charger....

Why would anyone EVER purposely over tighten a torque specified fastener? You could have just as easily used AUTO, then torqued them with your calibrated wrench.
If you are taking about the hub bolts then there is no reason to worry about torquing them because you aren’t going to break that big of a bolt with an impact but it will be tight enough to not come loose.
I was always taught not to tighten Lug nuts down with an impact wrench or you will never get the tire off on the road if you have a flat
@@jeffbucknam7393 When it comes to cars, SUV’s and regular trucks I use an impact on low then torque the rest of the way. Did it for 20 years no problems. On heavy duty equipment I was taught to just tighten them down with the impact. Whether that was right or wrong I don’t know but I never had any issues with lug nuts coming loose. Also if I get a flat on the van I’m getting it towed I wouldn’t trust a little scissor jack with all that weight in it.
I've seen lug nuts break off when over tightened. Trailer tire passed tow vehicle going down the road after over tightening with the big Milwaukee gun. All 5 lugs sheered right off. Not as uncommon as one would think. Loved the review I would not hesitate one second buying either of those. I have all DeWalt but just picked up the battery adaptor for Ryobi. Was going to get the $88 chain saw from home Depot but it looked just to cheaply made. Going to grab the Ryobi tire inflator instead. I wouldn't mind that ratchet at all but have not seen one at the store yet.
Ryobi makes some great tools. I love the little inflator I just wish it had a lock button on the trigger so you don’t have to hold it on a really low tire. I got a heavy duty rubber band to hold the trigger down so I could set it down and let it work. Thanks for watching

@@jowensblack48 It has to be seized up then. Ive removed rusty axle nuts, brake caliper bracket bolts, I’ve done shocks and struts with mine. I live in Indiana and our cars rust like crazy and mine hasn’t had a single problem.
I'm a newbie into diy. I have a Miata and I have all kinds of stuck bolts on it. The cranckshaft one was the hardest to undo, but I now have an M6 bolt stuck in the block holding the thermostat housing. Would this type of wrench work for that bolt or would it just break it to pieces?

Well. I know that so far I can't complain too much about my Ryobi 1/2 inch hammer drill. It's the brushed model. I had bought it cause I couldn't find battery packs ( Nicad ) for my old Makita 3/8 's drill. Anyhow, I work in the sand and gravel industry. We had an electric 1/2 inch Hitachi drill that crapped out on me. I mainly used it for installing conveyor belt splice clips. I had never intended to use my Ryobi for work but I needed something that would do the job unitil the company had gotten a replacement drill. Well needless to say. I've been using it ever since and that was over two years ago and still use it to this day. There was one occasion that I was doing patch work on a rock crusher feed belt and a co worker knocked it off and it fell from 12 feet onto concrete slab. First thing I thought knowing it wasn't a high end tool that it was a gonner, well to my surprise it's been working still to this day and the insident happened two years ago. I guess it's hit or miss with some tool brands. Maybe mine was built on a Wednesday??🤔🤔

I'm a Ryobi fan boy but I'm ready for a new slimmer battery design. I know they say they never change their batteries and most love that but the technology has changed so much. They can easily make a battery that just goes into the handle now.
They definitely could do that! I’m sure they eventually will change it up.
Yeah but Ryobi is all about one battery for all tools which is more convenient and cost effective, also with this setup you have the option of using different sized capacity batteries suited for your needs. Yes a big block at the end can get in the way sometimes in the instance of certain projects but not usually.
With a stick battery that fits in a handle you do not have the flexibility of added power options across all your tools or to be able to power them all. You obviously aren't going to be able to run your weed whacker with a small stick battery. Also with a battery that fits in the handle you are limited on the ergonomic design of the handle.
I hope they never change the battery . You must have like 2 Ryobi tools. If you have dozens of Ryobi tools you would understand why the battery should never change. Who cares if they can save an inch on the battery it's not worth losing 4000 dollars worth of tools by changing the battery design to save an inch.
Plus if you have a full set of older blue Ryobi tools the newest ryobi batteries will still work for those 20 year old tools. I hope they keep the same battery design for another 20 years.
@@jalee6587 I have a very large collection of Ryobi as I am somewhat of a Ryobi fan freak. With that said there is a point we are coming to quickly where there would be no reason to have Ryobi anymore as the technology changes and they become obsolete. In the past and even now there hasn't been much discovery in battery technology so Ryobi hasn't had to change anything. Now with new discovery and research the future looks different. Same happened with vacuum tube TV's. For many many years tv didn't change much then plasma, lcd, led and now OLED happened. This would be like Ryobi staying with tube TV's in the future. It's not here now but will be quick
I wonder how this high torque performs with the standard 4AH batteries. I have a bunch of them and it would be great if it will do 400-500 lbs tightening and 600-700 lbs removing nuts with the older batteries.

You can find it in the vehicle repair manual. We have software as mechanics that we use.

Honestly at this point I don’t remember what settings I had it on. Most likely it was on 3 though.
I have Dewalt 18v XRP tools and debated on replacing them with a 20v system but decided it was more feasible to just get the 20v adapter than replacing all my 18v tools.
If there was a tool that Dewalt did not offer and I had to get it from another maker then a Ryobi would be one of my first choices because of the battery system and the wide assortment of tools they have available using the same battery system and the cost. Sure some other manufacturers may have a better performing tool maybe but the Ryobi is more affordable and will likely still get the job done also.
Ryobi gets bashed a lot but they have never let me down and I use them all the time. The wide range of products that take the same battery is what makes Ryobi tools so good in my opinion. Plus they are priced very reasonable. Thanks for watching
The 18v and the 20v Dewalt are exactly the same. The 20v is just a marketing gimmick.
@@johnmiller7682 the 18v are NiCD and the 20v are li-ion. The NiCD batteries may have better shelf life and more charging cycles but they also suffer from drain from sitting and memory effect and should be drained before recharging and thus requiring some maintenance for people who don't use them on a regular basis like a contractor other wise they will fail quicker.
The Li-ion batteries do not have the issues I mentioned thus will probably better for people who use them occasionally. Although they have less charge cycles. The size and weight difference makes a difference also.

You do know that most 1/2" can remove wheel lugs & brake jobs.
Never tried it on a crank bolt as o never used it at my job these are my home tools. I would say if it is a factory tight Honda crank bolt then probably not. Usually need a 3/4 impact for those unless they have been off before. Keyword is “most”!

Well when you do a lot of braking in a big heavy van you don’t want the brakes getting so hot you get brake fade because you will crash. Not only that but these made a huge difference on stopping power. Before if I had to get on the brakes hard it was sketchy. Now it is less sketchy. 😂

Coming from only using a low end dewalt impact driver, I think i'm going to love this thing for working on my GTI and BRZ. I'll get the ratchet too eventually. Looks very handy for suspension work.
its not new and old. they are 2 different impact wrenches. the smaller one is the mid torque and the larger one is the high torque.
Impressive tool. Overtorquing can break bolts. You come off the highway and heat up the brakes and hub and POP... There goes your overtorqued lugs. Look on the ground at traffic lights at the end of exit ramps. Extensions do not effect torque value on torque wrenches.
On a passenger car or truck I always torque to spec but these bigger lug nuts and big studs we don’t worry about it. Extensions will absolutely change your torque value. There is a reason when torquing head bolts the manufacturers state to not use extensions. They twist and flex which will definitely change your torque values.

Yes but the majority of my tools were at my work. My tools I have at home aren’t as nice as my work tools are because I don’t want to buy the same tools twice if that makes sense.

A few ft lbs which isn’t crucial on jobs like this one. I only worry about it on crucial jobs like head bolts.

Is this model: PBLIW01B-PBP004? I see another model as well the P262-PBP004.
The PBLIW01B is the bigger (high-torque) one. The P262 is the smaller (mid-torque) impact wrench in the video (and I'm not talking about the cordless RATCHETS in the beginning). The PBP004 refers to the 4Ah battery that is bundled together with those impact wrenches at places like Home Depot.

I got mad at Ryobi a few years back and I also got mad at Home Depot for their policy. This was before Ryobi went to the thicker battery and better battery charger. I have 3 Ryobi tools and 2 older battery chargers and I had 4 Ryobi batteries(old Style). I would alternate the batteries on the chargers, but they still went dead on me. They weren't even a year old. I went to Home Depot where I bought the tools and batteries and chargers. They could only give me a slip of green paper with Ryobi's phone # for battery issues. I called, they wanted the serial numbers off each battery and the serial # off of each charger. What a hassle and they told me that those batteries were no longer under warranty since they had replaced them with the thicker battery. I was mad at Ryobi for not making it right and I was mad at Home Depot for not standing behind a product that they were selling. Any way I needed to weed eat and I thought I would give the new battery and charger a try. The new battery and charger have held up good. I might invest in a couple more batteries and another charger and this impact wrench while I'm at it. Glad they changed battery models

Those are 2 different guns.. 1 is mid size the other is full size great

I'm thinking of buying this impact. I have the old one which works great and didn't see any reason to upgrade to the first brushless one but this one might just be worth it. I do like the automatic features on both but the one I have is only like 300fp so does not really need it on that one. I work on my own vehicles but other then that really don't have much of a need for it other then I like it a lot lol. I may need it one day but haven't yet. The only thing I use mine for is taking wheels off and sometimes brake caliper bolts but their usually not very difficult on smaller vehicles. Maybe a occasional strut bolt or something like that. I love ryobi and have been using for a very long time. So long I have the original in working condition very first lithium ion tools. I still have a couple nickel cadmium tools I don't use. I first purchased ryobi ni-cad when my Dewalt got stolen and I needed a drill asap so I bought ryobi and I loved it and I've stuck with them every since. The only brushless I have is the one handed Sawzall which is awesome and the hammer drill which is also awesome. I believe the skillsaw is also brushless but can't remember. Yes I know Sawzall and skillsaw is a brand name belonging to Milwaukee & skill but everyone calls it that just like channel locks which is the only brand pliers I use lol. I do use Milwaukee, Makita, and Dewalt power tools but all my battery tools 100% ryobi. A lot of the reason is because I have so many and a ton of batteries already but also because they have never let me down and the price is right. I use them on the job and I don't care when anyone thinks lol. Milwaukee makes ryobi anyway lol.
Get it now...it's a hundred bucks if you buy 4 tools...still a hundred bucks if you cancel the other three ;) but I'd keep the batteries...2x 4ah hps for 100 more. Check out the buy more save more event a home depot

Changing their battery the brands entire core idea. Their batteries new and old work on every tool since the 80's. I love them for that. I have 4 batteries that power an army of tools.
I love Ryobi tools myself. Well worth ethe price. But they did drop the ball on the little handheld vacuum. worthless
You aren't gonna get any power out of those impacts without a HP battery
You get plenty of power without a hp battery, I've used a 1.5ah with the high torque to take off tractor tires and truck tires only time I needed an hp battery was for the yolk nut changing a pinion seal on a Dana 80
