- We upgraded the seatbelts on the 71 Torino from it's original 2-piece belts to a new 1 piece belt from Retro Belts.

A great video and certainly improved safety for your Torino. Back in the mid 70s I had my uncle's 71 Torino to drive as a 16 year old. I was that rare teenager that buckled up both the lap and shoulder belts when I drove. I liked the snug feeling of how the belts held me in place in curves on Back roads. However they were definitely confining trying to get to the radio and the ashtray and lighter. I can tell you that they were lifesavers in a head on collision I was involved in with a drunk driver in a Cadillac. I walked away with only bruises from the belts which was far better than the unbelted other driver.
Wow, thanks for sharing. Glad to know the old style belts were still affective. I am definitely loving the new belts. So nice to not worry about them coming apart, plus they are waaaaaay more comfortable!

Thanks for making a great seatbelt! It is way more comfortable to drive this thing now. Should've changed them out sooner!!
Average lifespan of a seat belt is on 15 years or so anyways. I wouldn't trust a 50 year old belt either way. Good product. Looks nice.
Yeah, that's something you don't think about changing all the time. After a few drives with the new belts, it's definitely worth the upgrade
Hey guys, do you know if 70 Torinos have the top seat belt mount for the sash? I’m in the process of buying one that only has the lap belts in the front but I want to install the same setup you did and hoping that roof mount is there under the headlining and once I find it I can just bolt the belt on.
I know a fair amount about Torinos, but I don't know the fine detail about all the possibile options like seat belts. I hope someone else in the comments can provide an answer and I hope you get a good deal on the car!
