I love they way Louie would come out and be so warm and cordial and then furrow his brow in a stern expression like when impersonating his father...always made me laugh. He was truly one of a kind.
RIP Louie! That last bit about connecting with people and accepting them for who they are was really special. You don't see a lot of entertainers doing that. It goes to show how special of a person Louie was.
I can't believe I had forgotten about Mr Lou. Back in the day I would watch him and laugh my a** off. I sorry that it took his passing for me to get back. He was one of the great everyday experience story tellers!. It's to bad that not enough of us who, don't take the time to see the humour in everyday life, it would make it much easier to tolerate. God bless that man for giving us a way to look at life and laugh!. 👍💕💕💕💕
A legend! One of the most if not the most beautiful comedian that existed, but I haven’t heard them all. All I know is I love his message and I love the joy he shared with so many including my children🙏🏽 Keep making them laugh there in light because that’s where you deserve to be Louie😇❤️ RIP❤️
Thank You so much for posting this. My grandpa had Louie's special recorded on VHS. We live 45 mins away from STL. My family watched this many times. Our VHS player eventually ate the tape. We never could find this special anywhere online. Thank you for posting it. This brings back so many memories. Louie is one of the best!
OMG I've been looking for this special forever. Love Louie. His first special made me laugh so hard I lost control of my neck muscles, my head fell back and I couldn't lift it for about 45 seconds.
I love Louie's observational comedy on people in general (and mom and dad); I also love Dark Louie- as I like to call him in this performance.. Never saw him like this in any other show. More grievance, more swearing.. And yet the sweet, heartfelt bit at the end.. All good. Thanks for the laughs Louie. ❤
We saw him the night before the show at Balabans a restaurant here in St Louis. He was walking around the restaurant talking about the food. He had the whole place cracking up. Rip Louie.
Beloved , Louie Anderson , the PEOPLE'S comedian IS a GIFT to OUR world . As I ALWAYS say : " Follow your Dreams " AND supersede your OWN highest expectations ! Well done , Louie ! You ARE the DIFFERENCE MAKER !!!!!🙂😄😆🤣🥰😇😊🙃🙂🙃😆😅😉😉😇😇😇😉🥰
my grandfather used to let one out when the minister was visiting him & my gramma, & he'd 'scold' her for it. the guys back in that era were so gross, lol. back in the 50's & 60's. that's what i love about listening to louie, his father was just like the gristled old, hard smoking & drinking, some were fighting, out on the streets yelling. i'd go to my friends houses & their dads would be in their old wore out t shirts & chain smoking with their cans of beer, & their rough voices. their wives would keep the house spotless, the kids had their chores. every time i listen to this it brings me back. my uncle was one of them. weatherbeaten, smoked home made cigarettes, an old italian dude with a warm, but deep, gravely voice. he'd eat so much cheese he'd be stuck on the toilet moaning & making all kinds of sounds, omg. i miss him. he had a tiny store with a candy counter, my aunt would bring me down, it was thick with cigarette smoke, she'd be smoking the same handmade cigs, & she'd let me pick out a little bagful of candy. i never thought i'd be able to see a comedian help me crack up about those years. rip louie. if you're looking down at us, know how much you've given us.
A GREAT KIND HUMAN PHALANTHROPATHIC HUMAN BEING ( thank god he was also a comedian, author, writer and actor, so everyone knew who he was ,( and the luckiest ones, were the ones to see him, and the best who go to meet him!) RIP LOUIE!
Thank you for uploading this!!! I watched this when I was 11 and I'm gonna turn 40 next year. This is still awesome!!! I never seen this online til' you. Thank you!!!
I think 1987 Cleveland; Louie Anderson at the Guthrie; hope that is right, good show, I laugh so hard every time I watch. Showtime special 1988 Louie Anderson Stand up 1988
I love they way Louie would come out and be so warm and cordial and then furrow his brow in a stern expression like when impersonating his father...always made me laugh. He was truly one of a kind.

When they made Louie Anderson, they broke the mold. He can always make me laugh.
Is that a fat joke?
But some of it grew back.
No, he was so fat, he broke it, and we loved him for him, exactly as he was
I love Louie! He had a sweetness about him that's missing in others. His observations of life were spot on. Sorry he's gone, he's missed.
Miss this guy!
Literally everything he says is just as relevant today, it’s timeless.
Rip Louie...grew up watching you. Thank you for the laughs.
A year later ~
May he rest now 🙏 😥
Thank you for keeping his work, that way he'll always make people laugh! 💗
That last bit is what sets him apart from all the other comedians. Thank you uploader and thank you mr. louie.
I met Louie at the security checkpoint in Minneapolis one time. He was so genuine and pleasant. Great comedian and person!

R.I.P My Dear Louie..You helped me with your laughter to recover from my Dad and alcohol. You had the same exact Dad!

Funny + the genuine article! Thanks for your time here Louie!
OMG I've been looking for this special forever.
Love Louie. His first special made me laugh so hard I lost control of my neck muscles, my head fell back and I couldn't lift it for about 45 seconds.
Go get that checked.
The ending was the best part.
I love Louie's observational comedy on people in general (and mom and dad); I also love Dark Louie- as I like to call him in this performance.. Never saw him like this in any other show. He's just naturally so funny & also, such a nice guy.
RIP Louie we miss you so much.
RIP Louie. Thank you for all the laughs
I quote some line from this show, at least once a week. One of my fav's ! RIP Louie. Forever funny.
A classy and very funny comedian ! Always loved his shows.
Holy crap that was really funny from start to finish.
I really didn’t know Mr. Anderson was so funny. Hats off man
His Thanksgiving bit where his mom would yell out at the end of the meal, “Oh, the cranberries!” She must’ve been a great lady! Louie, we love ya!
I still think that every time I see cranberries.
Louie grew up with my Stepfather in St. Paul. His description of his Mother, Father, and lifestyle were very typical for Minnesota:)
What you said of the end Louie Was very true you have me in tears right now may I see you in heaven one day RIP my friend
He is still the BEST comedian in the whole wide world !
I grew up on louie and I still love him
Louie, one of the best ever
Louie reminds me of little bits from childhood.
Louie can make normal things, hilarious! Just brilliance!
10:20, 11:20, 20:05
Rest In Peace Louie! I’m sure you are spreading laughter all over heaven! ❤️😁
Great entertainment. Thank you.

His expressions & great relatable joke & delivery. Genius 😊
Here is Louie Anderson 🎙️
One of the good ones. May he RIP
So funny! Wish I would have seen him in person. I adored him! He also made me laugh so hard! I loved his expressions. Bless you, dear one...
I always loved louie, and now I love Jim gaffigan
What a great man!
Bless Louie 👍👍✌
Miss Louie
THANK YOU for posting this. I have looked for this for YEARS. By far, one of the funniest specials I've ever seen.
such a great comic so funny
Love Louie!
Thank you, thank you. I've been hoping someone would post this entire show. I only had about 6-7 mins of it.
Great guy! It's good to laugh 😂
GOD BLESS YOU
Thank UA-cam, for restoring my old home video collection.😁
i think this guy proves that you can be funny without swearing and using foul language
He actually swears quite a bit in this one.
@@hogansavoy6525 yeah but it would be surprising if Louie said the word fuck
If anyone has Louie's special Comedy on Canvas from 1990, for the love of God PLEASE POST IT!! I can't find it anywhere!
His best, this and the one with King Kong holding up his dad :)
Zero ‘thumbs down’ and I hope it stays that way
Luna EB ...21 people like playing with ducklings very..VERY QUESTIONABLY......”QUACK QUACK..I Am A Man!!!”
Thanks Louie for all the connections with shared humor.
I was at this taping and you can see me. RIP Louie.
This is the edgiest I've ever seen Louie.
We actually hate when outsiders call it St. Louie, but in his case, I make an exception. I take it as a play on words.
I was the channel changer when I was a kid
OH YEAH -- i was THE ANTENNA!!#$%^
I'm still looking for his stand up "Louie on Canvas". I recorded it on a VHS from HBO, but it has since got ruined.
That was excellent how he came out of a fart joke and had an intimate dialog about humanity.
R.I.P louie 🌏🌎🌍😇
19:10 One of the first times I heard him curse. His act was getting a bit "darker" by then.
It was I think the 1990s. By this point everyone was a bit butter and angry with the country.
Louie is comfort.
god im thinking of crispy creme doughnuts right now
Very hilarious comedian
Damn, that ending was wholesome, you don't see stuff like that anymore
Love Louie
I wish I could make Louie my ppl if I'm having a bad day I don't turn on TV I put on Louie 🎉
Such a beautiful fucking soul right there.
Great comedian gone too soon. Rest in peace Louie
A little trick, tell them you want fries without salt on them, so they'll have to make them fresh... add your own salt.
They just have an employee lick it off.
And here's a free tip, next time you buy a Charleston chew try freezing it
@@timreynolds2643 Lol!
@@nicholassoland8025 You're threatening my already bad teeth : )
That volounteer policeman is still in shock
miss that big lovable goof
Very hilarious
❤
Absolutely loved this show when I was younger. I’m dying to find his HBO “Comedy on Canvas” set circa 1990. Does anyone know where to find it.????
I think 1987 Cleveland; Louie Anderson at the Guthrie; hope that is right, good show, I laugh so hard every time I watch. Showtime special 1988 Louie Anderson Stand up 1988
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm
I'm looking for that one too. Haven't seen it here. The one where he talks about stubbing his toe and his cat picking up the toe.
Sad thing about Louie: Mentioning family was a part of his Routine, but NEVER had KIDS of his own in his Life! RIP I cried trying to watch this!
We had to pee in a Maxwell House Jar....
😭 ❤
Rip Buddy will be missed
❤❤❤
39:54 the shadow of a person walking in the balcony looks a little off
I know what is it with comedians today? They think the more they cuss the funnier they are.
😅❤😂
I get it. The farting while peeing is a skill set reserved for the elderly, but be wary. Like Jack said in The Bucket List...never trust a fart 🤔
Remember the ceramic dalmation
37:08 ''lets go for a drive...'' Is this where Jim Carey picked up that; '_rolling his
head and yelling out something funny_' routine?
Sure looks like it
Carrey already had his act well developed by this time. He already had a Showtime special, and was on Johnny Carson. His act was original.
Louies not dead ....
I'm trying to believe everything that way I can blame most of my screwed up life on bad information
😭
