    He has never gotten the admiration he has deserved as a stand up comic. He could really command an audience with his knack for storytelling and painting vivid, hilarious images of scenarios we all can relate to. He did it better than most. I'll always consider him one of the unsung masters of stand up.

      He's considered a comedic legend.. What are you talking about.. Just because it was back in the day doesn't mean he didn't get respect at one time and still did from people who knew him.. It's what happens as generations come and go.

    • @Dunz0Washington
      @Dunz0Washington 2 роки тому +22

      Yes he did he was huge.. He had multiple TV shows, sold out arenas for HBO specials.. Won awards.. Just because he got old and did less doesn't mean he didn't have fans and admiration..
      Just because he was popular before your time doesn't mean you can go around saying that diminishing his achievements.

      @@Dunz0Washington He was not "popular before my time." I'm 61. I live in Minneapolis. I was a fan when his career first took off. Which started in Minneapolis.

    This is my favorite stand-up comedy routine of all time! I remember watching it with my mom when I was a kid; she had taped it on VHS and we watched it dozens of times. For decades, Louie's jokes were running jokes in our family. Like, "Cindy, I'm swamped!" any time we were slightly inconvenienced. And "LIFE... Live it" among sooo many others. My mom bought his book of letters to his father. I read it as a teenager and cried. Louie Anderson was one of a kind. God bless him. I'll miss him. ❤

    Comedic Genius!
    Very few people can bring the terrors, and utter blissful moments of life together, and still create hysterical laughter like Louie Anderson can. He can, because he makes it so relatable.
    His encore scene in this stand-up is total genius. I found myself laughing and crying at the same time.
    All the friends and family I have known in my life, who have been drunks, alcies, winos, came back to me.

    If a comedian can make you laugh without cussing and swearing (which is rare) You've got a talent. Louie is that guy. And a true gentleman. When I was younger I used to work on Crescent Heights and Sunset in Hollywood at a pizza restaurant delivering pizzas. And Louie would call in. And I would make my delivery to his place. Every time he gave me a great tip, and was a gentleman. I'll never forget that. It seems like the people who were brought into money were the assholes....And the ones who struggled and made it big were always the generous ones. Thank you Louie

    I was so sad yesterday. Spent the day watching his videos and interviews. I feel blessed to have seen him in Vegas. He did alot for other people. He had an amazing career. Very humble very kind hearted. Such a great story teller! We'll miss you Louie Anderson. Thank you for making us laugh making a dinner our lives.

    I dare say that Louie was the funniest man alive and if we EVER needed a good belly laugh, NOW would be the time! He was SUCH a natural, and SO at ease, like he was just talking to someone on the sidewalk. I could just imagine him as a kid, with that whiny voice and the way kids act and walk when they don't get their way about something! And, that Face!!! I just wanted to kiss him on the cheek and give him a big hug! 🤗 He was an eternal child. How I loved that man! 🥰

    Just discovered that Louie Anderson was in both Ferris Bueller’s Day Off & Coming to America. Didn’t know he hosted Family Feud either.. I’m watching his standup comedy for the first time. He’s hilarious. ❤️all the comments about the positive impact Louie had on so many lives. Curious about his marriages though. First one was 4 months & the 2nd with his high school sweetheart was only 4 weeks (if you can believe the Internet).
