- The #BMWM3 has been in America for 35 years and with such a long history, enthusiasts have been clamoring over it for many years. For 2021, the #M3 and #M3Competition returns with more power, tech, room, and of course, more grille. While the styling may be subjective, there's no denying over the fact that @BMW still knows how to build the ultimate driving machine.

Happy Monday everyone! We're hoping BMW will send us the manual M3 later this summer, but once you get past the obnoxious grille, this new M3 will make you fall in love with BMW's ability to deliver a true driver's car. The new version is relentless and puts the power down like an AWD car, which is still coming for 2022.
California requires front license plates...however I don't think the Grill look bad, I like it.

Agreed. At first I was like wtf? But it didn't take long at all for me to really like it. It looks more future state honestly.
Same the grill is different and not the same ol grill year after year after year. So I really like it.
If it wasn't for the grill, I'd buy one. It's just so horrendously designed. The vertical disruption into the hood; getting rid of the iconic BMW kidneys. I can't figure out whether it looks like a big nose or the teeth of a rat. Sports cars are supposed to look low and sleek, not have their radiator be the highest point on the hood.
If someone designed a car that has the looks, engine and sound of the Giulia, the handling and refinement of the BMW and the interior of the Mercedes, you would have the best sports sedan, and dare I say the best car in the world (rather easily). I'd pay $100k for it at least. Nothing in this category jumps out at me at the moment, but nothing is bad either. They're all pretty good and each one is a good buy depending on what you value most.
I just bought one and it needs a big grill for breathing and cooling, 503hp out of a factory online 6 is great. The grill has grown on me but maybe because I own one.

It's funny because I didn't like them when this was first revealed but now I really like them. They give the car very menacing look in the front.
I love this guy! So honest how he eviscerates the truly ghastly front grille throughout the review, even while praising the driving capabilities. So many funny comments throughout also. My favorite YT car reviewer by far.
Me too! I love that Sofyan was truthful about how awful that front end is. Most auto journalists try to sugarcoat it to not upset some of the fanboys.
I saw one the other day on the freeway. I thought YT reviewers were exaggerating, but I have to admit, it’s quite hideous in real life.

@@vr6gls yes, like the Straight Pipes guys were very diplomatic but you could tell they didn't think it looked good. Sofyan, OTOH, knocks it multiple times but in a matter of fact kind of way. The bit with the taped on Euro license plate to split the grille was pure comedy lol.

Nope. I love it. I owned the previous version M4 and loved that too. But it looks "dated" now that I have seen the new ones.

I like Doug just because he’s a great guy and the cars are sometimes interesting. I much prefer watching Redline though. Sofyan’s videos have improved so much in the past 8 years, when I first started watching him.
@@garrettw99 Totally agree, Garrett. I was a Doug fan from his first Carrera GT review, but he's like every Tom Clancy novel - too much detail. Sometimes I enjoy it. Other times, it's too much detail - I often prefer a high angle on something over the nitty gritty.
Sofyan give you what you need to know. Done! Love it! And we can't forget his laugh when the car out-accelerates his own sanity :)
doug is a moron.. his rating scale makes no logical sense. his car listing site is just trash compared to bring a trailer. I can't stand a bit of doug online. hope he finds a proper life somewhere else
Redline actually runs the cars hard and I like that he now times the 0-60. Doug usually floors it for a second and backs off going back to quirks and features talk.....

I think the face for the M3 and the new 4 series is really stunning. It definitely stands out from the crowd. I didn't like it at first, but the more I see it the more I like it. Gonna go very soon to see it in person and give my final verdict.

The grill is terrible, the rest of the car is beautiful! Hopefully a someone will make a body kit to correct it.

These grills look beautiful to me now. This grill is separated too unlike on the 440i for example. I love it.

Just finished paying off my C7 Z06 & definitely getting this with all carbon fiber options possible. Beautiful car.
I was lucky enough to get to drive my friends M3 that he did some work to - and now has 500+ hp. It's an Insane car and a blast to drive.

All jokes aside with the European license plate on yhe front, the grill looks awesome. Its one car where having the license plate on the front is a Plus rather than itmessing up the look of it.

I love how it looks. If you haven’t seen it in person you need to. Pictures don’t do it justice.
I saw one in person drive past me in a gray color and while the grille is still a bit much, I like it. I can forget about the look if it performs well. As the saying goes, "It's the inside that counts."

The grill just looks perfect, actually the best ever. Just look at it everyday and sometimes you will figure out. I had the same doubt when I saw it the first time, but once I got it, few months ago, I like it so much. Specially, driving it makes so great joy.
People need to start calling BMW grills "lung grills".

It's a return to form with this G80 M3. I really really like it. It kind of does everything the F80 didn't, except for looking good. Honestly, it doesn't even look that bad. The M4's proportions are terrible. You brought up the comment about it reminding you about the BMWs from 20 years ago. I keep bringing this up, but if I drove the F30/F10 as my first BMW experience, I wouldn't have thought twice about the brand. My first BMW experience was with an E39 and E90, and I adored them. Bravo, BMW!

I test drove one recently and this can run with 992 GT3 with the same HP but the M3 have way more torque. During my test drive I even walked a Model S P100D.
Then he was not racing you....

When you slap a license plate on the front end, which you have to have in most states, it actually looks perfect.
Honestly at the starting price for this car most of the optional features should be standard.
Look at the video they released that explains the cooling system. All of your questions will be answered.

Fair point. My reply was intended for the complainers about the grille design. It is built for purpose. Every opening has a radiator or ducting behind it.

Say what you want that grill was weird at first but it gets better the longer you look at it. I like it now.

I'm waiting on a solid after-market front fascia replacement. I'd spend an extra $3k to make it not hideous. Great car otherwise.

I think a color match strip and 3/4 of the way up the grill right on the body line if the bumper would make it look a lot better

Hmmm I was looking at an F80, but for the money, i might just get this. Then add the Euro license plate, which kinda fixes that front!
