I feel like this was a mistake but by god I had to get it off my chest.
Here we talk about Eddies Gluskin, Outlast, fandom, fan fiction, drama and just everything else I could think to say about good ol' Gluskin here.

♡ Thank you so, so, SO much to my friends who helped me put this together, provided footage from their gameplay and just put up with my mania while scripting and making this thing.

The "I can 'fix' him/her." mentality is more of a power fantasy that a person can change people for the better by simply being a pure charismatic force. What you described is known as "(Your Character Here) did nothing wrong." where a fan downplays or even ignores the vile or toxic nature of actions done by a character they like. This mistake is understandable in teens because they don't see the characters as people. These characters are simply props to enact fantasies built on emotions, and these writers tend to ignore the horrific things they right in favor of the vibe they are going for. It's a massive case of, "What the fuck did I write?" when they get back to it latter.
I’d say the ‘I can fix him’ trope was talked about here and, in certain sense, can get pretty prevalent and bad since… people see that in shows and then apply it over to real life. It’s another kind of not seeing a person as a real person and people have tried to do it to *me*… it’s very uncomfortable.
He's a scary fictional man in a suit and thus significantly less dangerous than real ones! If HE gets too much/too intense I can just turn the game off :D
Look, I was on the speech & debate team in high school and I have realized one thing since then: I have never met anyone who looks bad in a well-tailored, 3-piece suit 😂
I almost just commented "Suit" tbh
I never saw this video, but my take on the matter is this;
People will always find a way to simp over a killer/scary character in SOME way shape or form. Eddie already has a pretty sexual plot in mind, given he wants a bride and to have a baby. So some people just use that as an excuse to create easy smut.
I don't necessarily think it's bad to just simp over him as long as the person is aware it's all fiction and they're more doing it as a fantasy. But trying to redeem Eddie here? Yeah, no, that's not possible.
I only fawned over Eddie Gluskin because I felt a sense of possessiveness and dominance from his character. That's just me.
Same here,; I like his voice and aesthetic. The way he says "Darling" always gets me
I was expecting this video to just be someone screaming "YOU SHOULDN'T LIKE HIM BECAUSE HE'S FROM X GAME AND HE DID X THING AND THAT THING IS BAD AND THAT MAKES YOU A HORRIBLE PERSON!!1!" for half and hour (the usual) but it ended up being an actual fair take. I agree, specifically on the fandom part. I'm sure that if people learned how to respect everyone else's personal likings (as long as it remains completelly fictional) fandoms would be a better place
So while I never played outlast or got into the fandom (just a fan of your videos/videos on fandoms in general) I still honestly feel so heard with this video, just as someone who loves to self indulge in fanfiction. Specifically I love how you talked about how the whole "I can fix him" trope gets mocked for being too 'feminine' of a power fantasy. Not saying anyone who doesn't like this trope is misogynistic or anything, there are actually plenty of stories involving this trope that I do not like, but that said I'm not a fan of how much women and girls usually end up getting patronized over it, basically "Oh you silly, stupid female, don't you know that the fictional murderer KILLS people?" As if to say that women are too stupid to realize that, yeah in real life they wouldn't want to be anywhere near a serial killer. They need to be TOLD that bad people are bad
This analysis was on point. I'm gonna check out the rest of your library, glad I found you!
Me who enjoys Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape, and Voldemort is just: I like analyzing them but I also like them just because "Powerful wizard daddies"
The clutch this man has had on me for years 😭
You should write a story about Sullivan Knoth.
I guess he really got us all by the nuts, huh?
All I can say is that Outlast and the horror community in general is a pretty wild ride.
so why was this sniped? (sees the intro) oh maybe thats the reason as to why-
FOOOOOOOOOOOO..............😳....OOOOOHHHH NOOOOO
Also 2 secs of waylon pp appearing on screen 👁️👁️ (even if it's acknowledged in game at YT, they cut it all nsfw
I can neither find the link nor the video about gay fanfiction
...Alone
Yo wtf
My favorite Outlast characters are the Twins and Nick and Laird. They are not good looking like Eddy, but i like them cause they are creepy, massive powerfull for some reason and i just to know more obout them. I don't justificate their actions, i don't think that someone can "fix" them. These characters are in a horror game and they make their job.
I think they are underrated, as well. They look weird due a real case of genetic malformation.... Just for wacky visual impact, anyway. But if you see their conversation, they are astute and organized. Insane, yes, who isnt in a mental hospital, but they are so quietly debating about organs they will take from Miles. When they chase Miles they are just walking. It's rlly interesting
