In an independently produced series it's more to gauge fan reactions before deciding how much time to invest in the idea. Either way it's not uncommon to then convert the pilot into the first episode because it's already written and (at least partially) produced so the amount of additional effort is minimal.

Huh, I cant remember the last time something was popular and large amounts of people hate it just because its popular, and have nothing to say when it comes to actually helpful critics. Must be a new thing.
Ponmi's initial trepidation reads to me as a commentary on how VR experiences actually end up compared to how fiction imagines them. With VR headsets actually becoming a thing, society found out that they're not as immersive right off the bat. It takes some time to get used to them, and additionally you shouldn't be able to *feel* physically different like most anime/LNs with the premise have put out for decades. A "Full-dive" VR experience is actually really complex to make, which is why even if the character models are based on their actual physiology, actually having that translate to *feeling* different would be a lot harder and scarier. It also fits with her initial interest in wanting to leave because I know I dislike when playing a game makes me feel sick, and my initial reaction would be trying to "Exit" or "pause" and find settings, although the VR experience in Digital Circus seems largely disconnected from any sort of actual program besides the one that captures you so there's no UX there.
I kinda had a theory that Pomni must have seen something before officially being in that world, hence the freak out. Honestly, the only points I can disagree with is the characters supposedly being restricted to a single area, since one of the clips does show pomni actually being able to step outside of the circus and into the Stanley parable like setting, which would mean that the characters likely won’t be that restricted, not to mention pomni actually stepping outside into a bright glitchy white void. Essentially this point is kinda iffy only because of that. I could probably be not getting that point enough though. I (kinda) also disagree with the glitchy effect complaint too, but I guess I’ll leave it at that. Some of the other gripes with the pilot are fair though. And for what it’s worth, Digital Circus is definitely responsible for indie animation to become more common, giving artists and creators more wiggle room to touch on any subject. Since digital circus is still in the pilot stage, that also means that there’s potential for the actual season to arrive and address and fix the issues that people have with it. Maybe. Idk.

The show is amazingly crafted and deserves all the love and appreciation! I, personally, just did not enjoy it. Though Pomni’s alternative eyelashes and Caine’s design was just such a cool execution. I think I saw Goosworx (idk how to spell the name) said that they wanted the show to be 8 episodes long so I don't think it'll get tiring too quickly if the episodes are completely focused on the characters and stuff and I really want to see more of the characters growing, and coping with their situation. Idk I love angst and this show smells of delicious angst potential and I'm here for it. Also the jokes are one of my favorite parts about it. My only complaint about the fandom is the shipping. I'm not saying you shouldn't ship I just want some wholesome found family stuff but keep running into Jax x Pomni or Kinger x Ragatha. A small but harmless annoyance

the only main problem I see when fandons get too big too fast, and appeal to teens, is how dificult it gets to enjoy said thing and fandom. we saw how much unsupervised children can cause issues to others, goin from 0 to 100 in a drop of a hat. is not the problem of the show. teens feels things very intensively and react with the same intensity to others. I think the hate comes from people knowing stories and having experiences with fandoms with many children getting wild and causing trauma to them and others. Because even if it is a minority, it is a loud minority that will break you if they have the opportunity.
Honestly, I have a bigger problem with the adult creators with no real passion for the pilot trying to push lazy tadc content onto 4 yr Olds then any teenage fans. Seeing youtube's recommendationed flooded with that crap is the worst.

"what..?? what *was* that???" *puts some neat hat onto pomni* "we're trying to help out with your fear of clowns, remember? now let's check what's going on in that noggin of yours" *one internal mental breakdown from pomni later* "alright, and... oh. it looks like it got worse! oh well, what's a few more hours?" *puts the headset back on pomni*

I love Caine so much man so much. He's honestly the reason I'd keep watching. The comedy caused by him is giving 2010's gmod shit and i eat that up because mentally I've never gotten older than 12. I also like how he's kiiiiinda the main caste's torturer but actually is trying to give them something fun to do but is such a dumbass AI he doesn't understand humans enough to make it not the most physically and psychologically torturous experience imaginable. That's such a unique and funny spin on the "evil AI" idea, that is genuinely is trying to pull off its function of assisting humans but simply is incapable of understanding what humans actually enjoy. Hell I'd even argue it makes more sense for an AI to be like that. Gotta say tho, didn't like Jax when I first watched it. I think Pomni's rushed eagerness to escape vould have been excused if we had a sense that there's something she needs to return to. The idea of wanting to return to the real world is relatable and universal enough to not need an explanation, but what if she had a pet or elderly parent she needed to get back home to? Something more urgent? Something that would be negatively effected by her being gone. I don't think a job would work in this scenario because a company would just replace her and not care if she went missing. She needs someone or something that needs her in the real world and would miss her if she was gone. It doesn't need to be something only she can do either--even if it was just a pet that she loves dearly, most pet owners love the critter in question too much just let the petsitter replace them.
I remember seeing the teaser like a year before it dropped. I just kinda forgot about it, but when it dropped, omg it felt like the flood gates opened. Really scary stuff honestly. Also, I don’t get everyone calling this horror when it just has some dark undertones and that’s it. It’s less about horror, and more about making you think about the digital world around you.

Aight, I don’t usually put comments in fear of saying some dumb shit, but imma try this. So, in regards to your complaint about Pomni being scared right from the get go, I did have that same complaint at first. But we don’t know anything about the world outside of the digital circus. So I think that it’d be fair to speculate that rather than willingly putting the headset on, Pomni may have been forced to wear it. Which can be a reason for her already panicking when she gets there. Everyone forgets who they are when getting into the digital circus, but I think that the emotion they were experiencing while being transferred into the digital world wouldn’t just disappear when they pop in to their new wacky as fuck home. Or, maybe she didn’t know what she was getting into- like, at all. Based on the computer shown in the pilot, we can speculate that this takes place before the 2000s. Vr headsets were not very common. So maybe she was just nervous cuz it was something she didn’t expect. Maybe she didn’t even know what Vr was and she just saw some random headset and put it on to see what would happen. This is all speculation, of course, so I’m not here trying to say “you is wrong ooga booga”. I’m saying that we’re not given enough information about how Pomni got in there as to start criticizing her reaction to arriving at the digital circus. That’s all I gotta say. I disagree with a lot of other points, but at the end of the day, it just came down to what our personal preferences are. So really no point in saying anything else. As someone who was a big fan of gooseworx before TADC even existed, all I can say is Little Runmo and gooseworx's other works deserve the same amount of praise and attention since they are absolutely incredible, especially Little Runmo which has a special place in my heart. Other than the content farm channels pushing out loads of cringe cash grab kids garbage content, those things are rotting kids' brains by taking TADC and content farming it just because it has brightly colored characters💀
Personally, on the subject of them being restricted to one area, there May be more areas added, as Caine has specifically said he was working on something. There could also already be more to the world than we’re aware of. Maybe that the characters aren’t allowed to see for some reason. We do see Caine and Bubble at a restaurant, which wasn’t in Pomni’s introduction to the grounds, suggesting there are areas that caine, and only caine can go to, but of course if this does happen, the cast could find a way to enter these areas.
I thought that Sarcastic Chorus' video on TADC was pretty heavily opinionated and nitpicky, but at least it was more balanced than the hatedom. Although, a lot of his critiques were based on incorrect perceptions of the show, and claiming it was "trying too hard to be edgy or scary" when it really wasn't at all. It was just hinting that there was something rather sinister brewing. Oh, he also got upset that there "wasn't any reveal or payoff and it was all setup" in episode ONE. I didn't think his video was all that great.
Maybe because I watched Wake Up Carlo, but kinda was a bit sad that the Void wasn't scary like that show, in Wake Up Carlo the Void is 100% destruction what I mean is if fall on it even your closests friends will forget about you in a second leaving them only with the feeling that something is missing but can't put your finger on it and also the Void is sentient. But them again that show is pure dread when you start to think of the implications
I do hope they find some way to animate or add some sort of effects to make it look a bit more reminiscent of the opening style it looks a bit too clean and shiny for my personal tastes I find it kind of distracting sometimes (obvs to each their own just not for me)

So, in regards to your complaint about Pomni being scared right from the get go, I did have that same complaint at first. But we don’t know anything about the world outside of the digital circus. So I think that it’d be fair to speculate that rather than willingly putting the headset on, Pomni may have been forced to wear it. Which can be a reason for her already panicking when she gets there. Everyone forgets who they are when getting into the digital circus, but I think that the emotion they were experiencing while being transferred into the digital world wouldn’t just disappear when they pop in to their new wacky as fuck home.
Or, maybe she didn’t know what she was getting into- like, at all. Based on the computer shown in the pilot, we can speculate that this takes place before the 2000s. Vr headsets were not very common. So maybe she was just nervous cuz it was something she didn’t expect. Maybe she didn’t even know what Vr was and she just saw some random headset and put it on to see what would happen.
This is all speculation, of course, so I’m not here trying to say “you is wrong ooga booga”. I’m saying that we’re not given enough information about how Pomni got in there as to start criticizing her reaction to arriving at the digital circus.
That’s all I gotta say. I disagree with a lot of other points, but at the end of the day, it just came down to what our personal preferences are. So really no point in saying anything else. I love your videos and this one’s no different!

As someone who was a big fan of gooseworx before TADC even existed, all I can say is Little Runmo and gooseworx's other works deserve the same amount of praise and attention since they are absolutely incredible, especially Little Runmo which has a special place in my heart. Other than the content farm channels pushing out loads of cringe cash grab kids garbage content, those things are rotting kids' brains by taking TADC and content farming it just because it has brightly colored characters💀

May be more areas added, as Caine has specifically said he was working on something. There could also already be more to the world than we’re aware of. Maybe that the characters aren’t allowed to see for some reason. We do see Caine and Bubble at a restaurant, which wasn’t in Pomni’s introduction to the grounds, suggesting there are areas that caine, and only caine can go to, but of course if this does happen, the cast could find a way to enter these areas.

I thought that Sarcastic Chorus' video on TADC was pretty heavily opinionated and nitpicky, but at least it was more balanced than the hatedom. Although, a lot of his critiques were based on incorrect perceptions of the show, and claiming it was "trying too hard to be edgy or scary" when it really wasn't at all. It was just hinting that there was something rather sinister brewing. Oh, he also got upset that there "wasn't any reveal or payoff and it was all setup" in episode ONE. I didn't think his video was all that great.
Maybe because I watched Wake Up Carlo, but kinda was a bit sad that the Void wasn't scary like that show, in Wake Up Carlo the Void is 100% destruction what I mean is if fall on it even your closests friends will forget about you in a second leaving them only with the feeling that something is missing but can't put your finger on it and also the Void is sentient.
But them again that show is pure dread when you start to think of the implications

My issue with the show is that it's somewhat underdeveloped, but that's just an issue of it being a pilot, and honestly it needs to be fleshed out more, and we probably need more episodes to make a real decision. It's honestly better than I expected because I was expecting it to be terrible
