- Hello The Way We Wore Fans,
If you’ve been following the store, you’ll already know Doris has begun putting her most iconic pieces up for auction at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills. The pieces up for auction on 11/16/22 include: Chanel, Dior, YSL, Versace, Paco Rabanne, and more iconic fashions. If you want to bid or follow the auction results we encourage you to go to www.julienslive.com and go to A World of Fashion: Property and Archives of Doris Raymond. You can also purchase a catalog as a keepsake if you been following this channel and the store and want a memento dedicated to the fashion and clothing featured on our UA-cam.
The items included are unbelievable from a 1991 Atelier Versace catsuit, a 1957 haute couture Pierre Balmain, a Chanel Kitmir embroidered coat from 1922, and a 1925 Lanvin robe de style. All these items are rarities that don’t come up for auction, and since the increased interest in vintage private collectors and museums have been actively seeking items because their unique nature and history they carry.
Doris’ auction generated much attention as her reputation in the vintage and fashion forum is held in such high regard. Designers like Martin Margiela wrote, “I remain astonished by her uniqueness, the depth of her knowledge and-above all-her touching persona.” John Galliano wrote, “Destination all things Doris, is one of my most precious occupations. I learn so much each visit. This magical place with hidden treasures an endless source of inspiration, oxygen to all creatives.”

Hi there. The catalogues are for sale @ julienslive.com. They are hard bound a definitely a keeper!
Doris, you lool SO DIVINE here.
Also... you, YOU SHOULD be the person to see the fruits of your legacy and to reap rewards of your Legacy and the BS about gping put of business, well, let the cruel people gossip. It IS time to capitalise, youve been thru alit and no doubt had many trials and took some financial hits. You do deserve to be in control of how people treasure your collections, how theyre viewed, and sold. You have remarkable taste a remarkable eye and you are the only person whp should be doing this! And you can continue to buy in new items for TWWW that you know will refresh your store and keep ticking things over.
Its also a real privilege to get to see these amazing pieces. I wish i could be there to see for myself, i live in australia, and like getting to indulge my interest in design from afar via your channel.
Hey Doris~ I'm a bit behind the times here, but I wanted to say I hope your auction was everything you hoped it would be... and so much more! You deserve for it to have been crazy successful. I am so happy to have found your UA-cam channel! Wishing you all the best.
you look amazing in that turquoise matching your eyes!
I so agree. That necklace made me want to reach out, touch, and then beg to try it on. *sgh*
The Balmain dress introduced me to your channel. I felt the love and knowledge you talked about that piece and subscribed. If I had a few bucks extra, I would buy the red YSL for Dior one or the Vivienne Westwood needlestriped one. Or the tattoo shirt or... From so simple the beginning, endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful, has been, and are being evolved. (Darwin hits on fashion too)
He is right you have love & respect for fashion; that's what I enjoy about your "episode".
Doris! You look fantastic!😘😘😘
Are the catalogs for sale?
yes on the Julien's site for $50
Congratulations Dear Dori, proud of your auction and I identify with you: as a Collector, the star piece I have is a Gianni Versace pret a porter fall winter 1991 jacket, which was paraded by Super Model Cindy Crayword. To all that, I wrote him an email... Best regards, Javier Grover P.
Thanks for the info!
How cool is this what a wonderful thing to have in your life
Oh Doris. I am watching this with tears - not sad ones - well maybe just a little bit because I have seen so many of these pieces and know what they mean to you - but mainly happy tears. Because this is such a landmark auction that is the narrative of your journey through this extraordinary world of art. You look so beautiful and as always the way you impact your knowledge is exquisite and so joyful to watch. Sending so much love on the eve of this incredible event. xxx
So excited for you. You've worked hard and preserved many lovely pieces. Thank you, Doris. It's a pleasure viewing your collection.
This is lovely. Doris you are a treasure.❤️✨️
A well deserved Congratulations
beautiful TEXTILES BUT i WONDER WHAT IS the relationship of fashion to the high Tech world where we now communicate thru the computer. The day of big balls are over with.
Plenty of beautiful pieces from different eras. 💜
Congratulations I got very excited for you. I hope you have the greatest success with the auction. I have been following you for some 8 years. I would love to get my hands on a catalogue of the auction, don't know if that would be possible. Again all the very best Janette from Australia.
All the best 💖 Amazing collection, Bravo!!! Look forward to watching the auction 🌟
Amazing don't expect less from such a wonderful collector instructor historian and woman!!! Please don't stop teaching us !I love you and wish you the most success!
Congratulations on this major accomplishment, Doris!! Watching you tour your personal collection in that showroom after seeing you tour so many others in that same space was so fun. Legend status!!!
How can that fan NOT BE Tiffany.
One question, there is a dress in the auction that is said to be balenciaga. The black dress with the underpinnings. It was on your tv show with Dita Von Teese trying it on and at that time you said it was Dior and had a 5 digit price tag on it. It sold at the auction under the balenciaga name for around $5000. Why did you say it was Dior if it was Balenciaga?
The beaded Versace Whitney Houston piece is just divide. I hope she got change to wear it she would have looked incredible in it.
Your collection would be the only reason I would travel to America.
And to see the redwood forests.
Wow Doris, just phenomenal

You spent decades in a curatorial frenzy with rare and impeccable found and cared for pieces : what a strong presence of historical content. Congratulations: my hope as well is that museums add these selected items to their fashion collections. Terrific Doris. 🌍🌎🌏

Where can i get this book?
Julien’s website. It’s $50 + $25 shipping.
If you can wait... sometimes on eBay you can get a copy ..... that's how I find some ... but you should wait a few months ... just my opinion..& the price won't be $50. dollar's.... you might get Free shipping..also
I've been off YT a while, Did Doris ever get her stolen items back ? x
Unfortunately no. 😢
@@thewaywewore7371 I'm really sorry to hear that , but on a positive note, so happy to see your marvellous recovery, may you now continue to enjoy good health Doris, All good wishes from the UK. X

💛
He said she preserves .....NO ..she sells what she collects .....
If you watch her channel and listened to her here, most of these things are from her personal collection which means no they weren’t for sale. 😉
@@Sachaannstarart I listened to what HE said .... that's what I was referring to
@@maxlinder5262 You don’t believe she has preserved anything?
