Absolutely delightful and educational video! Coco Chanel challenged and changed the way women dressed and by default, did business service. I enjoyed this video! Well done, Doris Raymond, well done indeed again !
I am an unwavering fan of Coco and love all her work! I just love this woman. Determined, a survivor! Made it on her own! My inspiration! Thank you soo much for this on Valentine's Day. You can never do enough on her....
WOW! Doris! You sure have a spring in your step in this video! I love that you are wearing more colors! Your beauhotiful! Just now Invented a new word for you. I see your film crew is bringing you closer to the camera. It feels more up close and personal to the viewer! Nice job of editing too! Love you all!
Congratulations on 50,000 subscribers! Although this was a repeat, I still was amazed by the designs and the life story. The cream 1930's gown was breathtaking, as was the felt coat. I take away something new each time!
Thank you Doris and team for another great video. I've been following this channel since the beginning and I have to say I think you finally have the sound quality you need. The into especially......didn't wake up the cats this time. Whatever you changed it worked 😃 👍
This was an amazing St Valentine´s day gift, I´m such a fan of your videos and this was delightful! I hope I can get a hoodie like that! Greetings from México!!!
I don’t know that she was “fierce” so much as fiercely opportunistic. She unabashedly slept her way into success and bravo to her for using what she had to make it. She used her, um, “resources”, and brain strategically and controlled what she did. While I don’t agree with sleeping your way into money, I am (and the world is) sure glad she did it. She did the same thing during WWI, as an opportunist, by supporting the Nazis. People either forget or don’t want to remember this. But once again she used what she had to keep her spot on top. She used some pretty lowbrow methods (prostitution, although the upper classes call it being a “mistress”) to live in a highbrow way. Her great contributions to the world mean we can overlook her means to get there. She was remarkable.
Perfectly said! Thanks so much for taking the time to write this. She truly was an opportunist and made some unfortunate choices that have stained her brilliant career. Many thanks for your interest and I appreciate you. Doris
Oh I am first view and comment! I just love these videos! The history is sooo interesting! My grandmother here in lil old Des Moines Iowa was a seamstress for the late and lovely Chloris Leachman's wedding dress many years ago and I loved to hear about it when I was young! Thank you so much!
Miss Doris 🥰 I just want to say that I loved loved your show “L.A. Frock Stars” ( 2013-2015) and still love to watch it on Verizon files ( 2 seasons were not enough ) I live In New York but I used to travel all the time to Los Angeles before pandemic !!(waiting that get better cause I love LA ) !! I think that you finally solved a mystery for me, in the late 90's I sold a floral poured glass flower necklace for several hundred dollars to a buyer in London, there were no maker's mark on it, but now I am thinking that it might have been a piece connected to Chanel.
What a fascinating woman with a fascinating history! Thanks for sharing your expertise and knowledge :) You certainly saved the best for last with that amazing coat! What a creative use of felt, and what a fabulous work of art!
Love your videos! I’d like to suggest a topic for a future video - “inside - out” where you show a close-up of incredible finishing, lining and other inside details of clothing. I’d love to see that!! Also question- when you say something is “couture finished” do you mean hand stitched, picot, French seams? Please let me know. Thank you!
I love the distressed or well worn pieces. You cannot just buy that or recreate I should say. What a story for Chanel’s life. Eileen Gray also has a remarkable story as a businesswoman
Hi There!! Loved this video!! I think the old Chanel was so classic I wanted to know if you have that Chanel gold chain necklace you showed for sale and the price
Excellent! Would appreciate if you included pricing information on the pieces, how much you are asking for each piece, so the consumer can learn about costs associated with particular pieces and why, educate us! Thank you!
The black gown is so breathtakingly beautiful, I love the construction. The coat is also divine. Coco was a fascinating woman and designer!

nice option
It was common for women to upcycle their hats. In the 1995 version of Pride and Predjudice you see this.
Good

One of my dear friends mother knitted for Chanel. I am surprised you did not
