- Hello The Way We Wore fans!
We decided to update some of our older videos for you with new images and added information. Doris Raymond showcases her stunning collection of Chanel garments and accessories. She gives you a general overview of Coco Chanel's complex and exciting history, as well as the people she surrounded herself with. With such a classic and iconic body of work, we are only scratching the surface, but are so pleased to showcase the treasures in Doris' collection from the infamous Chanel.
Besides vintage Chanel Doris showcases some contemporary pieces from Lagerfeld’s time, like the 2007 penguin hoodie which has created a collector frenzy, with asking prices of $6k for a hoodie! What do you prefer the camp of Lagerfeld or the classic Chanel tweed suits?

Another great video. Chanel (despite her controversial politics) was a real trailblazer.
That black Chanel dress is still in fashion.
Loved the ivory/wedding dress, but the show off....wowsers!!!!

So interesting! Chanel is my fav. Studied & workd fashion design/prod, then...
I don’t know that she was “fierce” so much as fiercely opportunistic. She unabashedly slept her way into success and bravo to her for using what she had to make it. She used her, um, “resources”, and brain strategically and controlled what she did. While I don’t agree with sleeping your way into money, I am (and the world is) sure glad she did it. She did the same thing during WWI, as an opportunist, by supporting the Nazis. People either forget or don’t want to remember this. But once again she used what she had to keep her spot on top. She used some pretty lowbrow methods (prostitution, although the upper classes call it being a “mistress”) to live in a highbrow way. Her great contributions to the world mean we can overlook her means to get there. She was remarkable.
Perfectly said! Thanks so much for taking the time to write this. She truly was an opportunist and made some unfortunate choices that have stained her brilliant career.
Many thanks for your interest and I appreciate you.
Doris
Wow I adore this channel (no pun intended). The content and the expertise are well appreciated!
Looved the black dress!!

Very exciting 😍😍😍😍🦹🏾♂️🌷🧕🏿happy valentines day
Thanks for your great presentation. I really enjoyed it
Oooh, Chanel! ❤ Couldn't click like fast enough. Thanks, Doris! Hope you are doing well.
I think that you finally solved a mystery for me, in the late 90's I sold a floral poured glass flower necklace for several hundred dollars to a buyer in London, there were no maker's mark on it, but now I am thinking that it might have been a piece connected to Chanel.
Oh I am first view and comment! I just love these videos! The history is sooo interesting! My grandmother here in lil old Des Moines Iowa was a seamstress for the late and lovely Chloris Leachman's wedding dress many years ago and I loved to hear about it when I was young! Thank you so much!
What a dream to have Chanel haute couture piece 😍❤️
A video from you today is my Valentino be candy
That Coat. That Coat. That Coat. Oh my it is so beautiful. Crotchet and wool - Unbelievable

Ooo super
Very nice
Hi There!! Loved this video!! I think the old Chanel was so classic I wanted to know if you have that Chanel gold chain necklace you showed for sale and the price
Very good
I have watched biographies. Love her.
I love the distressed or well worn pieces. You cannot just buy that or recreate I should say. What a story for Chanel’s life. Eileen Gray also has a remarkable story as a businesswoman
Excellent! Would appreciate if you included pricing information on the pieces, how much you are asking for each piece, so the consumer can learn about costs associated with particular pieces and why, educate us! Thank you!
Love your videos! I’d like to suggest a topic for a future video - “inside - out” where you show a close-up of incredible finishing, lining and other inside details of clothing. I’d love to see that!! Also question- when you say something is “couture finished” do you mean hand stitched, picot, French seams? Please let me know. Thank you!
Great suggestion. I will add it to our list!
Thanks!
❤️
It was common for women to upcycle their hats. In the 1995 version of Pride and Predjudice you see this.
YOU LOOK GREAT. CUT YOUR HAIR. LOST WEIGHT. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. ❤🌻❤
One of my dear friends mother knitted for Chanel. I am surprised you did not
Mention that she had involvement with
