You are an excellent communicator and are pleasant to see and hear. This is why I've chosen you, among dozens of others on UA-cam, to follow as I undertake my low-carb diet. I've only been on the diet 4 days now, but so far it has proven to be very doable, and I've already lost 3 of the 20 pounds I wish to lose. I do miss a few favorite foods, but what I am eating mostly keeps me from getting hungry between meals. Fortunately, for me, I love greens, avocados, and eggs. That helps a lot. Thanks for what you do.
I buy greek plain yogurt, melt a few berries,so partly melted..cool it in the fridge, then mix it in with yogurt, with vanilla essence. Tastes same as store bought fruit yogurt
Tzatziki is an easy to make dip that is a good choice over hummus. Combine greek yogurt, shredded cucumber (drained), garlic and salt. It's great with dips or on salad or on lamb and other meats.
I started a very low carb diet with intermittent fasting 5 days ago. I'm amazed that I'm losing a pound a day at age 64. I know this rate of loss won't continue, but I only need to lose about 12-15 more pounds, so I'm thrilled. I'm doing this more out of concern for my insulin level and good health than purely weight loss. I'd love to see another video about maintaining once one reaches his goal. I'm not sure what to do at that point. BTW, I'm really enjoying my "big salad: every day at lunch! Thanks for all you do.
King crab is one of my favorite no cook meats. Cheese is my go to snack if I really feel i need a snack. I will try keeping some boiled eggs in the fridge...if I don't eat them alone they can be made into an awesome egg salad .Crab meat is so delicious mixed into a salad, avoid the fake crab, it's sugar. . After loosing over 20 Kilos following these videos, sugar is a easy hard NO. I have zero desire to eat sugar. Yes those beef sticks and beef jerky are mostly junk food, you really really need to read the labels carefully for processed meats.
What about those of us who have high cholesterol levels and cannot consume some of these foods due to the high fat content.? Any suggestions works be appreciated.
Hi Dr. Becky. I have watched you for years. I recently became aware that LMNT has maltodextrin in it. Anywhere between 250-550 mg/packet and wondered if you are aware of this information? Maltodextrin is not listed on the packets, but the company was "outed" over this and finally came clean this month and told the truth. Initially they denied it, then said there was only 4 mg, but now have admitted there is 100x OR MORE of what they initially addmitted to even though they claim there are "no dodgy ingredients and the ingredient still not listed on the packets or their website. I have used LMNT for several years and found this new information very concerning. I see you recommending LMNT. So, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this?
LMNT uses approximately 1/10th of a teaspoon of maltodextrin in their flavored drink mixes. It is not used in LMNT Sparkling or the Raw Unflavored drink mix. It’s not included on their labels because it’s a flavor carrier rather than an added ingredient. Flavor carriers help the powder dissolve in water. I drink it everyday without concern.
Hello, Since I cut out the sugary snacks I have cut my migraines by 90%. Thanks for your info doctor Becky. So helpful.
That's wonderful!
If I have an apple I eat cheese and a small portion of nuts with it,same with a pear. I do not seem to get a BL rise then

How do you melt berries?
@@marytaylor3675I’m thinking they mean, thaw aka defrost. Probably frozen berries. Just a guess tho 🤷🏼♀️
Microwave frozen berries to desired consistency?

It has sour cream in it. Still a good choice over hummus
I love your various food choices and how you group them together to make healthier options as i try to reduce my sugar content.

I discuss maintenance in this video: ua-cam.com/video/SlUeIz-s3ms/v-deo.html
I really like sardines in mustard for a snack, I have a can almost every day. Also, crushed pork rinds make a great meatloaf in place of bread crumbs.

I like my low-fat pretzels!
Dammit cashews are my favourite lol.
I hardly ever buy them because they’re expensive.
Cashews are very high carb.
