This was a very important collaboration. It was essentially the birth of Pearl Jam out of the ashes of Mother Love Bone after Andrew Wood's death.
And the whole thing was basically a tribute to Andy by Chris Cornell.
@@jonlate4581 I miss those time! I was eighteen and in airborne school when Nirvana released Smell Like Teen Spirit. One of my friends in airborne school was from Seattle. One weekend, some of his friends came down from Seattle, and we all hoped in their car to go out for the weekend. They were saying one of the bands they used to watch live in the local clubs made it big. They put a CD in and introduced me to Nirvana. After that, I was a huge fan of grunge.

There are Soundgarden songs where Chris is singing the entire songs in that high belt you liked in this one, tried Soundgarden Beyond the wheel, Soundgarden 4th of July, Soundgarden Slaves and Bulldozers. Some of those songs it sounds like he is in whistle but he is actually just belting, the guy is incredible.

Went to a Pearl Jam show in 2012 at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin and Chris Cornell showed up. Never in my wildest dream did I ever think I’d be able to see this live with a the same musicians on stage. It was surreal.
song goes to another level when eddie vedder comes in, he has the gift alright. he has depth and roundedness. a fulfilling voice. 👌

But as someone else commented, in some Soundgarden songs he sings whole songs in crazy ranges you wouldn't imagine. If you didn't realize this is Chris Cornell from Soundgarden & Audioslave, and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. Also, the band is members of Pearl Jam. It is a tribute album to Chris's roommate and the frontman to Mother Love Bone, which was members of Pearl Jam. His name was Andrew Wood.

The project's name are lyrics from the Mother Love Bone song Man Of Golden Words. Andrew Wood, who most of these songs were written for, was the singer of MLB.

Temple of the Dog was a supergroup that was formed as tribute to the late Andy Wood, singer of the band Mother Love Bone, who died from a heroin overdose before the release of their debut album. The supergroup was comprised of ex members of Mother Love Bone; Stone Gossard (guitar) and Jeff Ament (bass), and Soundgarden's Chris Cornell (guitar and lead vocals) and Matt Cameron (drums), along with Mike McCready (guitar) and for this song only Eddie Vedder (lead vocals). Gossard, Ament, McCready and Vedder would go on to form the band Pearl Jam.

Seems you confuse Cornell and Vedder a bit, Cornell is the 1st singer, then Vedder, then together with Vedder lower And Cornell singing the high register.

You should really explore Chris Cornell. Best voice of my generation in my opinion. You could do Outshined, Slaves and Bulldozers, Burden in my Hand from his Soundgarden days, Say Hello 2 Heaven from Temple OT Dog, Cochise or Like a Stone from Audioslave, and Nothing Compares 2 U from his solo work. Incredible, all of it.
