From a Western Manitoba family man... Thank you, Mr. Clay. Thank you for putting the spotlight on a great rural community and the greatest resources this province has to offer.
The stuff everyone at meateater is doing is huge for showing how rural people and hunters really are - up until them, most people only knew what some politician said about us
Born n' breed Manitoban - enjoyed this hunt you shared with us, Clay (not to mention they hard work of the man behind the camera). Glad to see you growing to love the animals, land n' people we have here; as much as many of us locals do 🦌🐻
As a northwest Arkansan myself, I can say I’m super proud to have him representing our state and region in such a prominent, knowledgeable, and humble way.
I was just thinking that they have some similarities. Both very knowledgeable and well-spoken, but for all the hunting they do, they still get flustered (Steve with any hunt that doesn't use a rifle and Clay shooting the wrong deer in this episode and pushing Janis to take a bad shot on his bear).
Clay can sure tell a story that honors the land and the people who are blessed by it. I have an hour drive to my two hunt spots and that time is a joy listening to the bear grease podcast. I call Ontario home and it's fantastic to see you out in Canada and as excited as ever. Thanks Clay. I gotta get me one of those trucker caps. I shot the wrong deer last year on the chaos of last light and a dozen deer trading places over food. The lessons in hunting are never ending. It's always a humbling experience.
I was there the week before you. I actually helped Todd put out the bait that you hunted on the Ainsworth farm. Tom took a bunch of my bear fat to render and hopefully make pastries with. Those are some good folks in that video.
I would love to have a chat with Tom and his wife regarding an eventual stay with my aging father. I would really appreciate if anyone could respond with the name of the outfitter itself, so I could contact them. Cheers, M.
Every video of yours that I see gets me more excited for my trip in Nov. 2024 to Manitoba! Your humble, honest and no BS approach to whitetail hunting is refreshing in this world of commercialized hunts. Keep up the great work!
To all, that was an amazing hunting story to watch, congratulations all around! But Bear, Man…that was so cool watching the results of the hard work, support from your friends, loved ones and your creator! I can’t wait to see what your future holds brother!
Well done as always Clay! Appreciate the sharing of mistakes made and the vulnerability that comes with that. It’s what makes your stuff so real, relatable and good to watch. Lived and hunted here in Manitoba my whole life and you have quite the resource there. I always preach to guys to try different spots but in this case I don’t think you need to. Thanks for sharing
To the MeatEater crew - well done! Clay - that sunrise shot on the buck you thought he was, but wasn't is pure gold. Thanks for sharing with an old bow hunter like me who has made that adrenaline-filled decision more than once. Many thanks, stay safe out there and good luck with the Spring Toms!
Omg this blows my mind I have listened to over 100 episodes of The Meateater Podcast and I always wondered how long it would take for them to come to my home
Love the addition of Mr. Newcomb. Seems like one heck of a guy. I can’t get over how many people batter and fry backstrap. I’m sure it’s delicious but it’s the best cut of meat on the animal. All I’ve ever done and can’t seem to vary it is heavy dose of S&P sometimes garlic and onion powder and go hot and fast on a grill, pellet grill, pan then oven…cook to internal 125 and slice. That’s just me I guess I’m SE Minnesota. Enjoy the brand, love the videos and wish everyone of y’all reading this successful and safe huntin and Fishin.
Great video. I appreciate your year long “out of season videos”. I usually binge watch all the new videos of my favourite channels during hunting season, and am then without any new hunting videos for the rest of the year. So I appreciate y’all uploading slowly through out the year!
Clay! You're in my backyard man. I live maybe an hour from the Ainsworth farm. Can confirm, Manitoba has some BIG bucks. Lots of mass and good sized bodies. Thanks for the shoutout to my home province!
Love when they come up here to Canada 🇨🇦 I live here and gotta say we got some of the most beautiful and best places to hunt in the whole world and love to see Americans come and injoy it
Bro u hunted a beautiful buck with Hella hard work u shouldn't ever be disappointed in that! Manitoba deer 2.5 year Olds will dress out at 270 live weight in the rut so a buck like that with a bow is a beauty! Congrats brotha!
1. Congrats on a nice deer! Thank you for celebrating the back straps even though the antlers weren’t what you were after! 2. Glad I’m not the only one to use a chest rig in place of a straight bino harness, so many options with that rig 3. (Based on the video) You broke all of Kenyon’s scent control rules and still found success 😂
Clay, brother you need to take Mark under your wings, we all love good footage and like it where its not just all about us viewers, you took that deer in very low "camera light". The money it takes to go on this hunts, and process of good video footage so far makes up for it on the back half, and you get your deer and we get to see the aftermath. I know the key is to make it all come together and in a lot of cases you do and Steve. Yaw need to coach Mark and help him be a better hunter in regards to handling camera crews and making those decisions. I'm not sure what Mark does for MeatEater Empire but lets get some action success going. I'm a realist and tell people what they need to hear and not what they want to hear. I love yaws shows and I have spent my share of money on the products the company puts out and endorses.
First year hunting with a bow, didn't want to spend a bunch of money to see if I would even enjoy it. Got it fit and adjusted for me at a local archery shop. Shot about 300 arrows before taking this out and getting my first kill at about 35 yards. Couldn't be happier with it. I did put some baseball bat grip tape around the handle for a better grip.
Hey clay love your videos ! Manitoba boy here born and raised. You think manitoba has big whitetails.......... get an elk tag my friend some of the best elk hunting in years !
@@ericdyck8364 Ya, I live in a small town in the South East. There have been Elk sightings in Sandilands but they are protected in this area. There's a herd around Vita but those are protected too. I, myself am Metìs and can hunt them in the South East but I recognize them as protected and leave them alone. I go NW of Holland MB. I even started seeing Mule Deer last fall near me in the Sandilands.

Clay is hands down my favorite Meateater personality. His small town country feel and desire to feel and know the land he hunts is inspiring.
As a northwest Arkansan myself, I can say I’m super proud to have him representing our state and region in such a prominent, knowledgeable, and humble way.
Same here he quickly turned into my favorite. Just reminds me of the good ole boys from the previous generations.
Next to Steve himself, Clay is my favourite Meat Eater hunts to watch. Great episode!
Repin Manitoba! Hell yeah Clay, it's an Honor to have you in our province!

Very well done video Clay. So nice to see a non resident hunter with with obvious respect and appreciation for the privilege of hunting in Canada.
Love to see how much Clay enjoys hunting in the 204. Hope to see more of the Meat Eater crew visit in the near future.
Huge fan !! Glad to see you in Canada!! Love to see more Meat Eater content up here !!

Clay is the man. So respectful and grateful
I love clays personality. He fits in well with the other meat eater guys.
I bet that’s why Steve took a liking to him as well. 👌
