- Biologist Todd Wood walks us through some of the things that make humans different from gorillas and other non-human primates. From the documentary "Is Genesis History?" Watch the full film on our YT channel.
Transcript:
So when we look at neanderthal man, we're looking at a human. But it's a human that, just like we find in dogs--we have a lot of variety of of dogs--we got a lot of variety of people. So looking back here at the gorilla, we can see the obvious differences between us and him. Not the least of which is that he's in there and we can go home when we're done. And so those differences are really huge, aren't they? Absolutely. The image of God entails this idea of being God's representative here on this Earth. Part of that, then, is having dominion and having authority. Spiritual quality that we have that we don't share with animals like that.

Wait so what do the Neanderthal and gorilla have to do with each other?
Evolution
Nothing
They’re like both kinda like people, but not really, you know……
Like science and stuff, two arms and two legs type thing, you know…..
They both have the same Creator.
Nothing. What exactly are you implying?
If man was made from dirt, why is there still dirt?
When we rot, we become dirt. And your question is just weird.
@melissafaye915 The nonsense is the point. It rebuts the creationist nonsense.
If man evolved from fish bacteria, mine, banana, slime from the depths, reptiles and blah blah, Why does all of the above still exist?

"we evolved from apes" is a misconception that I thinks been pretty cleared up by now
Right ! I'm sure people miss the "Common ancestor 10 million years ago" part.
Yeah. We didn't evolve from apes, we still are apes
Yes. Humans don’t evolve from apes. They only had a common ancestor.
@@cmk1964 humans are just a species they share similarities but they arent the same
@@waff64humans are literally classified as apes no matter how religious you are. The global consensus and facts are that homo Sapiens is the small canine, bipedal ape that takes sympathy and socialisation and communication to the outmost extremes.
Explain to me why chimps understand 95% pg our body language if we arent apes?
We are closer related to chimps than chimps are to gorillas
To clarify: his evidence is that the gorilla at the zoo looks different and lives in a cage. Wow. Science has been defeated once and for all (sarcasm).

read a book written this century
Can you reference the book which has the details of anybody making carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen and phosphorus form a single gene? You know the simplest cell has 525 genes,. 580,070 base pairs coding for arranging the 16.8 billion specific 20 amino acids in the thousands of different types of proteins averaging 400 aa's each? Seems reasonable to be able to "make" one gene, the engine of evolving?

Why? Reality hasn't changed. God knows how life came to exist. He has always known. God told us 4000 years ago and God's truth remains true.

no thats just not true we are just humans we are a different species than apes we are just similar but they arent our ancestors
No anthropologist, archaeologist, or evolutionary biologist is claiming humans descended from apes, but rather than humans and apes have a common ancestor. I'm assuming you, and others who argue the same premise, are referencing "The March of Progress", depicting apes evolving into humans, which is wildly inaccurate and even scientists on human history (anthropologists, archaeologists, evolutionary biologists) reject the usage of it to depict human evolution as evolution is never a straight line but rather a complex series of branches. Again, humans did not descend from apes and no scientist claims that, but rather humans and apes share a common ancestor. (Also Homo neanderthalensis, "Neanderthals", were not the same species as Homo sapiens, "Humans")
That is understood, but still incorrect. The diversification isn't possible if reliant upon the same source. The complexities involved can not be accomodated by the time alone, never mind the impossibility it suggests with reverse engineering being applied. The origin is far more intricate than the prevailing differences and simply cannot be constructed randomly.
@@summan41man the evolution of a species occurs due to genetic mutations being passed down from generation to generation, and these mutations are random. If the mutation gives the species an better chance in survival then that mutation will be more likely to be passed down to the next generation. Evolution doesn't occur among individuals, but among a species through generations and it takes millions of years before a new species comes into being. By "common ancestor" we don't mean a single individual, we mean a species and we can trace that ancestor by looking at DNA evidence (bones in this case). That's how we found Homo sapiens' Mitochondrial Eve and Y-Chromosomal Adam. So far, our earliest *named* Hominin ancestor is Sahelanthropus tchadensis.
@@redflagrevolutionary6549 What you describe is adaptation, variation, and as you say this would take millions of years. The evolution you suggest is based upon a flawed theory, one based upon the improbability of multiple, functionally necessary, mutations appearing together. The earth hasn't been around long enough to accomodate the combinatorial chances required to produce such randomness.
Despite our perceived belief in scientific advancements, we still have no conclusive evidence for the origin of life, the axiomatic viewpoint of steady progress from the single cell is undeniably misinformative. The single cell contains information far beyond the explanation of 'random mutation by natural selection' . It's comparable to believing that an apple mac computer randomly evolved without any external influence, that a digital code randomly formulated to create a programme which produce a processing chip and the rest of the components simultaneously mutated.
Humans share no common ancestor with apes or any other creature. We share a common Designer/Creator with all living things. All creatures were created through special creation by the command of God.
@@rubiks6the comments above you went way over your head. Evolution exist
I love the way he says “we have dominion, and it makes us special, we don’t share that quality with animals”. So many people either don’t know or refuse to believe that. God made us special. He made us, just as we are.
That authority is meant to be NOT to be abused.
I think the genesis is real in a sense that we were not cast out of the garden but rather our curiosity made us walk out of the rainforest (paradise) out into the savannah. We cannot go back to the garden because we cannot live on trees anymore we evolved into something different than our ape cousins.
Trey smith of god in a nutshell has some great videos on this subject . I encourage y’all in the comments to check out his stuff it’s fascinating and he presents stuff in a great way ❤

Nope

Wow your just figuring this out now. Knew this 50 years ago. Just saying
🤦🏼
No, man shares a ancestor with apes. At some point prehumans were in a situation that caused a beneficial mutation and branched us off, same as everything else
There's no such thing as a "pre-human."
@@rubiks6 yes, its "Pre" which is a prefix that means before. And "humans" is a reference to the Genus Homo.
Feel free to use a dictionary or a basic google search next time
I'm glad you jumped into your time machine to go back and clear that up for us all..
I understand that gorillas aren't people but they are intelligent, and not violent towards humans in the wild. It's not terribly kind to cage them for our entertainment. I believe our Dominion and stewardship over nature should be tempered with the same kindness we would like to receive from God. We are to God as animals are to us and how people treat those who have power over or they believe to be beneath them shows who they are and I believe God is paying attention to who we are when no one is watching.
Bro we got birds out here living longer than humans. We got tortoises living longer than humans. We got apes like chimps being closer related to us than they themselves are to gorillas or any other type of animal.
Question: if MAN “evolved” from apes??? Why are apes still apes? And why are they still around? Shouldn’t they be “evolved” out of existence by now???
Answer: no.
Longer answer: because man is NOT evolved from apes. Not those apes anyway.
We've always been apes, we didn't evolve from them.
Good job not using your brain here
You're projecting.

Humans are a species of ape. I wonder if he thinks humans aren't mammals?
When I look at a great ape I see human eyes looking back at me.. if you know what I’m saying…98% of the same DNA
That 98% was debunked 20 years ago. it's about 60%. You forgot to count regulatory genes.
Also, apes don't have white eyes ... none of them. God tried to make sure you wouldn't get confused.
We also share 98% of DNA with bananas lol
@@rubiks6 Those debunks were also debunked.
Ha ha. That's a good one. Google images of ape faces and human faces and compare the eyes. There is a very significant difference.
Neanderthal (Homo neanderthalensis) weren't humans... Human is the common word the species Homo Sapien, which is the scientific name for our species. Both hominids. Different species.
That's like calling a Panthera Tigris (Tiger) a Panthera Leo (Lion). Both members of the feline Panthera family, but completely different species.
Or, a better comparison, calling a Pan troglodytes (chimpanzee) a Pan paniscus (bonobo). Both Great Apes of the Pan family, but different species.
There are obvious differences between Asian & African skulls as well 🤷♂️
We, or mankind have made the classifications.
No, a lion and tiger are not the "same" & are a different species, but they are close enough genetically that they can produce offspring. A wolf & a beagle are different species, but they are still canines & able to produce offspring with eachother as well🤷♂️....or a bobcat & a house cat, etc, etc....but an ape, monkey, or orangutan etc can not cross breed with humans.
The more we have learned about genetics, the more absurd Macro Evolution becomes🤷♂️
@@beetsar - Untrue. Adaptability was programmed into creatures by our wise Creator when He spoke them into existence. He is a really smart Creator. This was clearly described by Gregor Mendel in the 1850s and 60s. Mendel is considered the founder of modern genetics.
