Amazing video! I agree that the way Genesis is structured does not allow for the idea of evolution, and to do so would be to skew the text tremendously. it's very interesting how they say we evolved from apes, because while we DO possess a lot of physical similarities to the animals of the ape family, we are still so different mentally, we know both good and evil, we have morality, we've never stuck to one way of living, we have developed the ability to conquer all sorts of beasts through various methods. I was once a bit of a christian evolutionist, believing that perhaps God doesn't look anything like us, kinda like how biblical accurate angels don't actually look like humans, but for us to be so incredibly distinct from every other creature in this world, to be the only living kind to know good and evil, to have this ability to learn and adapt that absolutely NO other creature has ever fathomed in the millions of years, it makes me think otherwise. None the less, my faith in God shall never be shook, because even if the big bang did happen, guess what, who created the big bang? The lord. ❤
And how can you assume that no other species on Earth or any of the countless world orbiting distant stars in the past, present or future won't develop like we have? I say this since it is a near certain fact humans undeniably have living relatives and a fossil record that shows relation to extinct hominids who ultimately diverged from a common ancestor we would recognize today as an animal. This need to be special is merely a psychological urge. Elephants mourn, whales and dolphins develop hunting traditions and language, chimpanzees wage war. The distinction is that our species adapted to heavily rely on a highly developed nervous system that elevates our behaviors into more complex functions that are already expressed in other species. Evolution is the nail that destroys specifically the Abrahamic religions as it identifies we are not distinctly made for a purpose; and that for millions of years prior to any supposed fall creatures lived and died on our planet; not because of some allegory about good and evil but because it is simply the nature of the universe, we live in. The effort to deny centuries of scientific progress is only persuasive to those who either willingly ignore the evidence or don't grasp concepts beyond 6th grade biology.
@@grandfathernurgle2840 we deny the way those fossils are dated, we believe that it is unjustifiable to say that some species lived millions of years in the past.
May I suggest a video on this topic in light of St Athanasius' "On The Incarnation"? I note several points that may on face value appear to leave room for some elements of "theistic evolution" yet I suspect they don't and that had he been aware of this controversy he may have clarified. Not wishing to make assumptions, I would appreciate a discussion of what he probably meant instead. Specifically... Ch1, pt3 - second half from "For God is good." until "remain in a state of death and corruption." containing: "upon men who, as animals, were essentially impermament,"; and "But if they went astray and became vile, throwing away their birthright of beauty, then they would come under the natural law of death and live no longer in paradise, but, dying outside it, continue in death and corruption." Ch1, pt4 - all but the introductory part, begining "For God had made man...." Ch1, pt5 - begining from "This, then, was the plight of men." until "the penalty of which God had forewarned them for transgressing the commandment."
@@holyresurrectionofchrist Thank you, I really appreciate it brother, and thank you for your videos. Holy Father St. Athanasius please pray for our illumination with the truth of God, that we do not fall into worldly delusions or heresies.

But still never ceases: the fear that one's faith will become completely undone by slightest hint that (esp) Genesis may not need to be taken Literally, afterall...? Instead of engaging and wondering at the world that God has given us, one with He only knows how many things are still very much beyond our comprehension? But one we continue to explore and discover through Science. Being able to pause at gorgeous pics of distant nebula thru Hubble/Webb telescopes or follow odd, incomplete trails left in the fossil record is not to be frozen in some state of "demonic stupor," but rather one in which we should find ourselves stunned in absolute awe of His endlessly inventive Creation.
In Genesis, grass was created before the sun. From a scientific perspective that makes no sense. We’re not supposed to view it from a scientific perspective. There’s overwhelming evidence for biological evolution. We have fossils, carbon dating, and we have empirical evidence of micro-evolution.
You know whats interesting when god created male and female to become one its like a imagination of the trinity between a male a female and god all 3 made one i belive that discovery of understanding shows the true beauty of god.
What are your theories why our dna is so close? Also why do we look so similar to apes but no other animals on the planet. Apes are the only animals that resemble us… I actually believe we did not evolve from apes but I’m curious how you explain these two facts
This is what someone told me: "Let's say the soil contained various substances and micro-organisms, and God took these and created man...." "You mean," I replied, "that if those elements did not exist in the soil, God would not have been able to create man? It would have been really difficult for Him?" "Well, let's say," he continued, "that He took some things from the ape and perfected them. Couldn't that be how it happened?" "Are you trying to say," I answered, "that God cannot create a perfect creature, that he cannot create a human being, even after dedicating a whole day to it? What should He have done? Go get spare parts? Why don't you read the prophecy of Job[1] from the Scripture readings of Holy Thursday? Science does not accept all the claims about our kinship with apes. How long has it been since man went to the moon? In all these years, have apes evolved enough to build a bicycle or at least a skateboard? Have you ever seen an ape on a skateboard? Of course you can teach him to do that, but that's not the same thing." But the man would not give up. He would insist, "Let's assume this," or "let's say that...." "Well, let's just say that you will not assume a thing," I finally told him. "This way you'll find the certainty you want." The theory of evolution was being taught by a professor I knew at the University. Once, I said to him: "In time and with proper care a green bean plant will become a better green bean plant, the eggplant a better eggplant. If you feed and take care of an ape, he will become a better ape, but he will not turn into a human being." And then there's this thing to think about. Christ was born of a human being, the Panagia. Are we to believe that His ancestors were apes? What blasphemy! And those who support this theory don't realize that they are blaspheming. They throw a stone and do not check to see how many heads they have cracked. All you will hear from them is: "Mine went further than the other fellow's." That's what they are all about these days; they marvel at who will throw a stone the farthest. But they care nothing about those who are passing by and the many heads their stones will crack.
@@holyresurrectionofchrist I’m still confused. It’s very nice writing but I’m confused. Why of all the animals above and below the ocean do we only resemble apes? Why is our dna so close? Again I don’t believe in evolution but I don’t think you actually addressed the question. Also with humility it is ok to say you do not know
People make helicopters which resemble a dragonfly. Why? Because that shape works the best for that action. Humans need to walk and grab things, raise hands in worship, knees to kneel and a waist to bow. Apes need to swing, grab fruit, and walk short distances, the way their body is composed (designed) works well for that. God can use a similar code to make body configurations that are needed to do those things.
Also the apes act out archetypes, the gorilla is ruthless and polygamous, the gibbon is a peaceful and monogamous animal. We can see one is a good creature and the other inherited a brutal existence from the fall from Eden.
@@holyresurrectionofchrist how about all those fossils that prove the existance of evolution? How could all those animals have shared the same planet with no problems?
@@Massimo2.0-zj1qy The fossils contain data found by scientists who interpret them according to the Darwinian framework. But they can also be interpreted in other ways. The fact is, a lot of the methodology scientists use (like carbon dating) is imprecise, and the bones themselves do not prove evolution. They can be used as evidence for it, but they do not in and of themselves prove it. There are many metaphysical problems with evolution, such as the emergence of human consciousness and the ontology of death, which can lead to the conclusion it is false.
@@Massimo2.0-zj1qy Fossils do not necessarily prove evolution. You are literally demonstrating that my original comment is true with your ignorance, folly and mistruth lol. I was going to let you off the hook for it the first time, yet there you go on treading in your folly as a dog returns to its own vomit -Proverbs 26:11. This is not spiritual behaviour; you are not elevated in the Spirit when you carry on like this, but maybe the Holy Spirit is not an important possession to you, I wouldn't know... Anyways, the reason that I think lying, mistruth and conspiratorial thinking is not of the Holy Spirit is because of years of interactions and observations of how science deniers conduct themselves. They usually talk straight from the flesh with not filter, similarly to how you are doing right now, and they do not have a Holy Spirit presence in their words. Often their souls are corrupted to begin with, which is what lead them to believing decieving spirits such as the flat earth conspiracy theory; things which have no basis in reality. It is a wicked spirit which has power over them that leads them towards flat out denying scientific facts or questioning things that have no logical basis being questioned. These things are not in line with a Spirit of Truth, and actually you can be a scientist and accept science and be more holy than someone who is a self proclaimed person of the faith by merits of your person and behaviour. Again, in your case, you presumed to have the answer to the reasoning behind my comment BEFORE you even tried to ask me personally -Prov. 18:13, and then you continued in your folly -Prov. 26:11, and to top it off, you allowed baseless, corrupting talk to come out of your mouth, which is profaning you. -Ephes. 4:29, Mark 7:20. Futhermore, rather than realizing your fault and humbly apologizing for it, you insulted my mirror. Like what does my mirror have to do with the topic at hand here, dude? Again, you have no idea who I am... There is no Holy Presence in your words right now, which fully illustrates my point that baseless assumptions, lying and mistruth are not traits/fruits of a Holy Spirit and/or Holy Presence working in someone, and you should think on that intently before you continue into a third comment trying to twist a fellow Christian's words. You are sinning right now. Anger is of the flesh, of the earth, not of heaven or the Spirit, and anger is like gnashing of teeth. You should fight against that urge to continue slandering me. If you can do that, then I will say that you have a victory in the Spirit for yourself in this comment section where you were not invited, you are not needed and are not wanted. God bless you.
As a true Christian I can say this, man did not evolve from apes which is what you pointed out. But (I may have interpreted it wrong) did you say that evolution does not exist at all? There is basic evidence for evolution as when the enviroment of an animal changes, it must adapt to survive, this takes several generations but it is just true. Otherwise i completely agree with you.
It is why mammoths in the ice age had fur to fit their enviroment but elephants today do not. This is because their enviroment changes how they are adapted to it.
Perfectly said, adaptation, evolution means getting better (from an inferior to a superior state of existence, materially), the laws of physics disprove that from ever happening

There was no evolution of apes into man. Man is a godlike created being. According to image and likeness of God, while animals are human like. That’s what we as orthodox believe.
I believe evolution explains the rise of plant and animal life. But not human life. Man is God’s special creation from mist and dust. Christ evokes this symbolically when he heals with spit and dust. This protects the gospel from evolution and evolution from the gospel.
A big problem with evolution I began to have is the idea that evolution is driven by accidental mutations which are beneficial toward survival, but this can only be deemed to be the case further down the line after a series of subsequent mutations all leading in a particular direction, and then by the merit of us still being around, any mutation will automatically be retro-actively considered beneficial. It’s entirely non-falsifiable by the fact that humans exist to do science and investigate the genome, thereby rendering evolution as a blind force we are able to attribute all existence to by virtue of our own existence. Evolution is presupposed and then all the evidence is moulded to fit that model. Unfortunately, I find myself unable to explain this fully. But does the idea of a beneficial adaptation not presuppose an ideal? An ideal not justifiable from the evolutionary worldview, because as long as any life exists then evolution is “working.” It seems nonsensical to me. That’s before even getting to a-priori reasoning etc Evolution is the inverse of the gospel and the dogma of anti-Christian progressivism and occultism. The idea that we are ascending up the mountain from a lowly place, rather than being made in the image of God and having fallen, before being raised up again by Christ, our King and God
Feelings don't care about the facts. The facts: DNA shows us to be very closely related to apes. It also shows that we're related to every other living thing. We share very similar distinct physical characteristics with apes that we don't share with other animals, like opposable thumbs, upright locomotion, and our teeth have molars, canines, and incisors. We share similar penises that are unique among all living creatures. We're capable of communicating with apes using sign language. Apes are self aware. Apes have empathy and some understanding of fairness. Apes have complex social systems. Apes rely on companionship and nurturing for a long time after birth.
Blah blah blah. > Chimps eat bananas > Bananas are 50% chimp through DNA > Chimps are cannibals!! >> Never trust chimps (or those who claim to be descended from chimps) 🤣
We share similar DNA but that doesn't point towards us coming from apes. There is no proof that monkeys have similar emotions to us, it's observations that pointed towards this thought, but those behaviours are merely because they live in groups. Monkeys don't have exestancial questions, they don't worship anything nor do they create art. This is what seperates us from all species.
So, when you see two simmilar cars or buildings you assume that they evolved from one? Or is it not more reasonable to assume one designer? I personally leave question of human evolution (with preserving of Adam and Eve as literal) open, but that argument from comparative features is specially weak one.
Even if one believes the Bible, Adam and Eve weren't immortal before the fall, after the fall, God says he has to get them out of the garden lest they eat from the fruit of the tree of life then become immortal.
Death entered the world at the moment of their fall. Prior to that event, it did not exist in the world. That is why Adam and Eve were given fruits for their diet as by eating the fruits, no death is caused either to animals or plants.

you're right, humans share a common ancestry with apes, we didnt evolve from them. Educate yourself before talking about something you clearly know nothing about.
Evolution is a myth. Not a single evidence scientists managed to provide to prove it. When we see alleged predecessors of a certain species, lined up to show alleged lineage of evolution, we can always say that those are different species that went extinct and are no longer living, and those scientists can only steam in anger. They have no proof of any of their claim.
Because man were never apes, man was man even in primitive form, we evolved from primite man not apes. I dont understand how belief in evolution denies Christ. Amazing! Great work!
Amazing video! I agree that the way Genesis is structured does not allow for the idea of evolution, and to do so would be to skew the text tremendously. Hello! Why in orthodox icons of creation the sun and moon are depicted with faces as they are not living beings?
In God everything is alive. He holds everything alive, including the non biological creation. Because we are fallen we see death In everything
it's very interesting how they say we evolved from apes, because while we DO possess a lot of physical similarities to the animals of the ape family, we are still so different mentally, we know both good and evil, we have morality, we've never stuck to one way of living, we have developed the ability to conquer all sorts of beasts through various methods. The lord. ❤
Man are NOT animal like, animals are human like
And how can you assume that no other species on Earth or any of the countless world orbiting distant stars in the past, present or future won't develop like we have?

"upon men who, as animals, were essentially impermament,"; and "But if they went astray and became vile, throwing away their birthright of beauty, then they would come under the natural law of death and live no longer in paradise, but, dying outside it, continue in death and corruption."
Ch1, pt4 - all but the introductory part, begining "For God had made man...."
Ch1, pt5 - begining from "This, then, was the plight of men." until "the penalty of which God had forewarned them for transgressing the commandment."
God willing we'll make one. He is a great saint

What are your theories why our dna is so close? Also why do we look so similar to apes but no other animals on the planet. Apes are the only animals that resemble us… I actually believe we did not evolve from apes but I’m curious how you explain these two facts
This is what someone told me: "Let's say the soil contained various substances and micro-organisms, and God took these and created man...."
"You mean," I replied, "that if those elements did not exist in the soil, God would not have been able to create man? It would have been really difficult for Him?"
"Well, let's say," he continued, "that He took some things from the ape and perfected them. Couldn't that be how it happened?"
"Are you trying to say," I answered, "that God cannot create a perfect creature, that he cannot create a human being, even after dedicating a whole day to it? What should He have done? Go get spare parts? Why don't you read the prophecy of Job[1] from the Scripture readings of Holy Thursday? Science does not accept all the claims about our kinship with apes. How long has it been since man went to the moon? In all these years, have apes evolved enough to build a bicycle or at least a skateboard? Have you ever seen an ape on a skateboard? Of course you can teach him to do that, but that's not the same thing."
But the man would not give up. He would insist, "Let's assume this," or "let's say that...."
"Well, let's just say that you will not assume a thing," I finally told him. "This way you'll find the certainty you want."
The theory of evolution was being taught by a professor I knew at the University. Once, I said to him: "In time and with proper care a green bean plant will become a better green bean plant, the eggplant a better eggplant. If you feed and take care of an ape, he will become a better ape, but he will not turn into a human being."
And then there's this thing to think about.

That’s before even getting to a-priori reasoning etc

You shouldn't mischaracter evolution like this. It is not said that we are evolved from apes or monkeys but that we evolved alongside them and only share a common ancestor far in the past. If anyone wants to argue against evolution they must understand it fully or discredit themselves
Evolution ultimately preaches that God created death. That’s false teaching. It’s an ideology
@@holyresurrectionofchrist I'm really not sure what you mean by this.
@@pancakekraken876 i think he meant the trial and error aspect of evolutionism, Man was immortal before the fall and that's a fact, how could he evolve from a common ancestor of the apes, if animals weren't esplicitly said to be immortal? And if animals were immortal, why were the Humans the only ones who would receive this gift (theosis), yet they have common ancestry with the apes? It comes down as unfair and injust, yet God is fair and just, which is why we reject evolutionism.
