The M4E1 lower is typically under $100, if you have never build one, I highly recommend trying it out. There’s nothing wrong with Anderson at all. If you’re a builder, and you love building AR’s the M4E1 is a wonderful luxury. Zero roll pins to install, super durable and they look great too. Now when you get into radian, or SanTan, those are the fancy expensive receivers. I just built a gun very very similar to yours. 13.7 rosco middy, PA 1-8x SFP, idk if I’m going to spend the money on an offset red dot, I might do offset irons if they’re significantly cheaper than a red dot. Just waiting on my Aero scope mount to come in, hopefully it ships soon.
Yeah my buddy swears by them haha. At the time, this lower was half the price so I got it Bc you know why not haha. I’ve seen the radian lowers and man they are sweet! Just not gonna put that kinda money into them rn... also with the offset redot vs irons, I’d go redot. You don’t have to align two points, just put the dot on it. Also don’t have to worry if they are folded up or deployed(if you don’t get fixed irons) I just think the redot is superior other than batteries must be changed. Either way, you can train to whatever you have so it’s not a huge deal
Just starting a 13.7 build myself. What's great about it is you get nearly identical bullet drop to a 14.5" so BDC optics will match, you get the benefit of lower port pressure of the midlength gas system, with nearly identical dwell time to an 11.5" carbine gas system. It just seems perfect to me. Roscoe is sold out though, I got lucky and got a Ballistic Advantage from MAS Defense out of Charlotte, NC.
That's why I love the 13.7! It is almost identical to the 14.5" just shorter. I don't hate on those BA barrels, they are well made and pretty accurate from what I have seen. For future reference, look on the subreddit gunaccessoriesforsale. Someone is always selling good stuff for decent prices! Saw a Rosco 13.7 the other day for $160. Hope this helps and enjoy that build brother!
Surefire warcomp on a 13.7 is dangerously close to 15.8 depending on number of shims used. I went 13.9 on a similar setup. My 13.7 uses the SOLGW NOX. It just came that way.
@@tyler3389 absolutely great choice. I have a 14.1 that I think was a special version of the Hanson made by BA for Ranier Arms. I used the SF3P in that one.
@@IkfNorCalChamp yes. I actually have a factory M4-76 SOLGW setup exactly like this, pin and weld 13.7 with Knox to get to 16 overall. But honestly I wouldn't cut that barrel. It's so close in reality to the same length. Lots of cost and potential for issues with that.
Buffer systems to consider: 1) Vltor A5 (this is what BCM, Sons of Liberty Gun Works, and Triarc Systems run), use H2 or H3 buffer weights for suppressor, 2) Red SPRINCO with Griffin Armament's SOB buffer designed for suppressed use, 3) JP's silent buffer system, 4) Griffin Armament's buffer system, 5) Geissele's super buffer system.
Also, if you haven't purchased a can yet, Griffin Armament 30SDk is a good choice: 1) Multi-caliber (more bang for your buck) , 2) QD designed to work with A2 cage (save money on muzzle devices), 3)Full auto rated, 4) no barrel length restrictions (I didn't know some suppressors have barrel length restrictions, so 2 of my cans are not safe with shorter barrels) 5) it's used by Milspec_Mojo, this guy's been on Garand thumb's channel, check out his videos on UA-cam.
yeah I think I have seen one of their 5.56 cans. Seems like they build a solid product and being multi caliber is sweet. All for killing two birds with one stone. I will look into this as well. Thanks for the insight!
It's only cool if they gave you the shirt for free, or pay you to advertise for them. Totally not cool if you paid them for the right to advertise their product on your body.
I didn’t like the bulkiness of the arisaka Mount. Wouldn’t have worked with my setup the way I wanted. Plus the angle was too great of an offset so I think that’s two things the trex Mount has better for it
As long as it’s a good quality job, it shouldn’t affect performance other than a slight decrease in bullet velocity. It shouldn’t affect your gas system or anything so it should run the same as it does now. Just make sure when they thread it after the new cut that it’s long enough if you plan on pin and welding an MD for 16”
I feel like that is over priced. Even with during current times. From my personal experience just building two 11.5" BCM CHF pistols, they came in a fair bit under your build. No lights but they will either get SF or Modlite which I think will still be cheaper overall. One with an Eotech EXPS-3 and the other with a Holosun HS515. I'm not trying to bash your build but better guns can be had for cheaper. Maybe try buying when deals hit. Triarc 13.9' just went on sale at Primary Arms for $199...
Hey brother I have the same issue with my bcm rail would love a vid going over how you shaved down the rail. But question brother is i cant tell in the video but did they pin and weld with a crush washer.
Yeah ill do a video on the rail and get that up for you guys. The gunsmith put a crush washer on it to get it plus shims to the legal 16". It is fine to have the crush washer unless you intend on running suppressed then there might be issues with it being concentric and having a baffle strike. Just food for thought if you intend on running suppressed
Used a crush washer and some shims to make sure it was 16". A had a gunsmith P&W it. He said since it has a crush washer on it, that I shouldn't attach a suppressor but I am not sure that matters since it was P&W in place.
@@themosindude7925 no, you shouldn’t put a crush washer on it because it’s highly possible the muzzle device will be slightly uneven. Not a big deal for the short muzzle device itself, but with the length of a suppressor added it might be off enough to cause a baffle strike and ruin your suppressor. Hope it helps.
Hey man did you ended up getting the geissele buffer system? What’s your experience like? I’m building a 13.7 now and I am looking at their 42 H2, for running suppressor later on.
It’s pretty clear. I don’t think it’s true 1x but it’s pretty darn close. I don’t really use the illuminated reticle but 3-5 is good for day light bright. Anything higher and it starts to bloom pretty bad
@@themosindude7925 I started to do a similar build to your with a 13.9 criterion barrel. I want to run a lpvo. I’m looking for something I can still shoot 15 to 25 yard and still reach out to 200 and 300.
@@carlosvasquez1646 you can certainly do it all with the lpvo. Just gotta know your holds with the closer range shots. Just takes practice but doable without an offset sight
@@carlosvasquez1646 it’s very capable at those ranges. I’m gonna try and take mine out to 400-500 and see how I can do with it. 360yds is the farthest I’ve shot and it’s a cake walk at that range.
