  • Please join in on our Rōnin “Combat Carbine” Course hosted by Whistling Pines Gun Club in Colorado Springs, CO. In this video, I talk over my personal “Combat Rifle” setup. Understand the evolutions in my training and operational experience that led me to this combat rifle setup. Join in as I talk over the optic zero, I prefer for urban combat and why. During my time on the Special Forces A-Teams, my M4 rifle was my individual primary weapon. Please join me as I talk over my understanding of this combat rifle and how I had to adapt the rifle to combat.

Such a humble and giving man. Thank you for posting these for free on your channel. I don't care how much I've trained in exactly everything you've taught in this video, each time I see a tried and true warrior explain it, there is a new way of explaining and different experiences, but always the same lesson. It allows for us to notice the micro variables that allow us to fine tune our technique. I watched Mr. Lam's interview on Sean Ryan's channel and he exudes respect, honor, and humility. I am a civilian and will most likely never share a battlefield with this man, or men of his caliber, but man am I thankful to share the battlefield of ideals and character with him. As a person born with a blood clot disorder, I've had to fight many of my own fights. Some call me a warrior, who've seen what I go through. However, I didn't choose to live this life. I was born into it, into having to fight, into being a "warrior", but this man... He CHOSE. He chose to serve his countrymen, to stand shoulder to shoulder with his brothers, and to be ready at any moment, to fight and die for these ideals and the freedom to have them. For that, we are eternally grateful, Mr. Lam, to you and your brothers. In return, I swear to fight in the ways I can, to secure and keep freedom. To hopefully encourage others to be humble, honorable, and respectful. To NEVER let your service and the lives of your fallen brothers, to be in vain. God bless.

I ran an EOTech on my M4 with a foregrip that had a bipod in it with a push of a button. I loved that M4 and it saved my life many times over. I have since tried to duplicate that at home but for some reason I can't get it quite right which is why I'm in constant state of changing gear.

I love how many little quality of life things he knows. You can definitely tell that he was in the military for 23 years when he starts giving bits of advice that I wouldn't even begin to think of. Other non-military instructors may be able to teach you a lot, but they probably don't know that a 3 point sling hits you in the dick when you're jumping a fence and that you should pop up your shirt collar when using a sling.

    I've got a 16" and I'm building a 12" almost identically.
11.5" Midwest rail, dot, buis, weapon light, cmc 4.5# trigger, and a pic rail up front as a point for a qd bipod.
    Simple, ease of training.

There are no good videos on the topic yet.
