Seriously, thanks for putting this video up. Getting to see the installation clearly and hear the change is what pushed me to go with the BMS intake. Going to review your vis again when it’s time to install. Thanks again!!!
Glad I could be of some help, thank you for your support!!
Installed these on my G70, can hear the turbo spooling so much more now, love it! Easy install too. Thanks for the video as well man
Of course, thanks for the support! Glad you can hear them spooly-boys better now lol
What year g70? I just got a 2023
@@JankyBoost mines a 2019 3.3T
@Luis ok thanks man. Pretty positive the 2019 and 2023 3.3 are the same. I could be mistaken though
Best video on this how to install I've seen so far. Thanks for not blocking the shots with your hips so I can see the action.
Thanks!
Just installed with the help of this video! I bought mine with 20k on the clock and I think I felt it with the little parts shifted maybe 1/4 of an inch, had a hell of a time with the driver side bolts lining up and the strut bars are applying a small amount of pressure to the passenger side filter but I'm hoping after market strut bars help with that! Thank you for the excellent instruction!
I’ve been watching your videos the past couple days cus I just bought the new 2023 stinger. So I am planning to do these mods. Thanks so much for making it really easy to follow along!
Sure thing, thanks for watching my vids!
Best instruction video out there for these intakes! Thanks man! Installing mine tomorrow, can’t wait
Sweet, I know you’ll enjoy them as much as I have. You definitely hear the turbos spool more with these.
I had a hell of a time getting the driver side on. The metal inserts in the rubber gaskets seemed to be keeping the screws from going in.
This is an extremely late reply my apologies but I had the same issue, had to take them out 😂
Just installed mine today myself it fits perfect and sound awesome… I have the carbon fiber hood so I hear the intake more loud…
Very nice!
Mine will be here tomorrow! Looking forward to putting them in. Thanks for the video
Awesome!
Looks good, sounds good, made it look easy, thanks
Thanks, that’s what I’m here to do!
Always makes it look nice and easy
Thank you!!
Awesome ready to install mine as we speak! Sweet.
Nice install made it look so easy , great job👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks!!
Sounds and look amazing!
Thank you, yeah I’m loving it!
Love it! 🔥 I wish the intakes were pointed more down in the airbox tho
Yeah I was hoping that too, kind of like how the Injen intakes for this car sit. But oh well I still really like the look.
As always - beautiful...!
Thank you!
Sweet! Just ordered mine :)
Awesome, I’m loving them!
@@KDMCurt By the way, noticed you have custom red bars (not sure what they are called, those bar thingies above the intakes) Do you think there will be an issue to fit the intakes below the original ones?
@@spxcore1 those are the strut braces. I don’t think you should have a problem these braces are just slightly skinnier than the stock strut braces. Even so, when tightening down the bolts that should “set” the intakes in to place.
@@KDMCurt Ok I see, thanks for the info!
Should pop the clips off of the lower airbox housings instead of leaving them there loose to flop around when hitting bumps etc. Also weird that it's a 12mm head on the strut bar bolts. On the G70 it's a 14mm I thought damn near everything mechanical was the same on the Stinger and G70.
Yes sirrr
Had to do it to ‘em lol
Where did you get the tow hook? I’ve been looking for one
Amazon - amzn.to/3xu8fyj
It says it fits a Genesis but it also fits the Stinger. Comes in red or black.
It looks super easy I have a 2020 hundai elantra sel but I’m scared I’m gonna break something lol
It is super easy, you just got to get in there and do it. Just research what you’re doing first and be careful and you shouldn’t break anything.
Looks awesome. Thinking of to do on mine. Do you have to take the intakes off each time you get the car serviced or do you leave them in?
From what I’ve read in the Stinger groups most people leave them on. They usually only take off things like their JB4 tune as that can void your warranty but intakes shouldn’t.
Curt,
Thank you for the video. When I put the braces back on the car after install the braces were rubbing against the top of the heat shield. It actually bares down on it on the drivers side. Did you notice that on the install?
Yeah, the fit is a little tight but doesn’t seem to bother anything.
Thanks for the instructions, installed mine today. I noticed my engine hood was running a bit hotter than before. Not entirely sure. Did you notice anything like that?
Yeah that’s common, the heat isn’t contained in the airboxes anymore so it’s spreading to the hood. Shouldn’t effect anything though.
Why didn't you go with the full cold air intake setup? Do these add any HP?
This intake system does what I need, it adds to the acceleration that’s for sure. I need to get my tune on and have it dyno’d to get the most out of the mods though.
Dope!
Thank you!
Nice!!
Do you happen to remember what size these BMS filters are? Im wanting to get a carbon heat shield. Thanks!
Those little donuts inside the stock piping, when you removed the stock air box. Did you leave those in when you placed the bms intakes? I didn’t, I just secured the piping in it. BMS didn’t specify, so was curious if you had any insight?
I left them inside the stock piping, sorry that was something I should have included in the video.
@@KDMCurt you’re good, no videos have specified and when they came out they fit right inside the BMS intake so I wasn’t sure if it really did anything. But thank you for the reply, I’ll put them in
What size socket and ratchet to use and pull bolts
Mine don’t sound that loud when I let go off it, is there anything I could have done wrong?
Did you remove the loose spring clips left on the lower factory air box assemblies?
Nope, left them on for now. Wasn’t sure if they needed to come off or not I was hoping they wouldn’t rattle and so far I haven’t heard anything.
I have one question, can I use this product on the Kia stinger gt2 2022
Yes it will fit the GT2’s.
Hi, searching for water repellent covers for BMS filters. Could anyone help please?
Do you know if the 2022 models allow you to replace the Kia badge with the E badge? Also, which badge do you like?
Yes, you can put the E badges on the 2022. I prefer the new styling on mine though I was never a huge fan of the E.
I love the intakes but I also have a question… when u removed ur emblems what product did u use to get the extra sticky stuff off the car?
Turtle brand sticker/glue remover. It’s like $6 a can and it’s green. You should be able to find it at AutoZone or even Walmart in the automotive section.
@@KDMCurt thank u so much
Looks good, do they touch the strut bars?
Yes, the bars touch the edges of the filters just a little bit.
Just installed these of my g70, when you abruptly get off of the gas do you have any flutter?
Well I put BOV’s on pretty soon after this so I would get the “psh” sound when I get off the throttle. But if I remember right, before I added the BOV’s there was a little flutter after the initial “hiss” when the turbos were spooling up.
Do your strut braces hit the filters? I just installed these with the bms struts, but they have zero clearance.
Yeah my braces are touching the filters too. They seem to be fine though I haven’t had any issues so far.
hey man, nice vid!
I just installed mines, but i feel like the sound isn't as loud. Do you have any idea why? thanks!
Hmm I’m not too sure, I don’t know too much about the turbos on these cars yet. It should get louder when you drive because the car uses the turbos and builds more boost when driving. But other than that I don’t know much yet.
Would this model work for a Kia Optima 2020 or should I look for something else similar
This set up is made for the Stinger, for an Optima you would want something more along the lines of this - www.knfilters.com/cold-air-intakes/kia/optima/2.4l-l4-petrol/2020
Did you gain any HP or any other form of performances after the install?
You will gain a small amount of horsepower with just intakes and you can feel a better throttle response. A tune will help achieve the full potential of the intakes though.
They wont deliver to cali :(
Yeah, Cali has a ton of restrictions on modifying cars right now unfortunately.
@@KDMCurt yeah need to find someone from out of state address and have them ship it to me
Do you need to add oil to the filters before installing?
No, you do not need to pre-oil before install. They are ready to go!
hi bro, after i put this bms air intakes , can i still add BOV to make it sound louder ?
Yes, I added mine after I did the intakes as well.
Have you gotten a CEL further down the road or is it still clear?
Still no issues!
Do you find this increase HP and Torque? I watched a video saying it would set off the engine light and cause less power sometimes due to the computer set to factory.
Let me know
It feels like it increases a little bit. I have not dyno’d the car though to test it for sure. However, I haven’t experienced any error lights or losses of power either.
@@KDMCurt okay. Great. As long as that light stays off lol. My 2.5 L had a coil failure two months ago. Two to be specific and now the light went in again. And this is stock. Going to upgrade to the 3.3.
Hey question I have a stinger 2020 2.0
If I install a cold air intake will it give me a check engine light on in the long run?.
No, it should never give you a check engine light if installed correctly.
@@KDMCurt awesome thank you for the response.
What made you choose these over the ingen intakes?
Price and ease of installation. They were about half the price of the Injen’s (I got them on sale and found a discount) and they use the bottom half of the stock air box. The injens do look better I will admit but the gains are the same. Also, I’m pretty sure the Injens ones don’t come with heat shielding unless you buy it extra.
Can I do this to a 2022 Gt-line model?
Yes but it will be a single intake since the GT-Line is a single turbo engine. Pretty sure this company makes a kit for it.
Did they fit good when you installed them? Mine touch the brace and they feel kind of tight. Also I can’t hear them that much
They are a little bit tight under the braces with the filter barely touching the edge. As for the sound I’m not sure on that one mine are pretty loud. I would just say make sure you have the hose clamps tightened properly around the tubes.
@@KDMCurt thanks I’ll try to reposition them tomorrow. Also did u have the stock blow off valve or were u using an aftermarket
@@riptide6712 have you taken the car for a drive yet or just revved it up? Driving it will sound way better as the turbo’s don’t really kick in while in park so I’m told. This video was still stock BOV’s and not venting to atmosphere, still recirculating. I’m now using the ADD W1 Dual BOV Kit and it’s pretty loud.
Where can I purchase a set
Burger motor sports website or KDMWarehouse
do you need to tune the car afterwards?
Not necessarily. If you want to get the absolute most out of the intakes then yes tuning the engine to compensate for the new amount of air going in would help you get more horsepower/torque. But again, it’s not absolutely necessary. The car will still function without tuning after intakes.
do you leave them on when you bring it to Kia for service? also, other than sound, do you notice any HP/TQ gains?
Yes I left mine on when I took it in for my free oil change. Acceleration is slightly better but it’s hardly noticeable with just the intakes. They are more of a requirement for the upcoming tune.
@@KDMCurt Thank you. I just ordered the intakes and HKS M45iL plugs. JB4 tune down the road
@@michaeldennis3028 nice, I’ll be ordering my plugs and tune here pretty soon as well.
@@KDMCurt Oh, didi you disconnect the negative on the battery prior to installing?
@@michaeldennis3028 nope, not for the intakes.
Are they better than injen
Really all of the intakes for the Stinger do about the same thing so it’s more of which look do you want to go for and how much do you want to spend. The Injen intakes are very nice but they are about twice as expensive and a little harder to install since they don’t use the bottom of the factory air box.
You gonna get a roar pedal?
Probably some time soon. I’m going to concentrate on exhaust and suspension next.
Pedal commanders make this car a beast. Race mode very few cars can get the jump on me.
Hi hi brother ✌️✌️✌️
I have installed. but I started to burn to check engine((( what should I do...
