Should I be concerned that I’m watching bourbon reviews at 5 AM?
If enough of us watch it, I think it makes it normal 🤷🏾♂️
I'm also watching at 5am aha
No… but yes
I don't feel so bad I waited till at least 6 to start watching lol
It's seven am I watching it too so don't feel bads we just starting a new clubs I guesses then
Frankfort is supposed to be released in August and Boston in September. The point of this series is to highlight how 3 identical barrels placed in three distinct rickhouse campus locations will age differently over a 17 year span.
They should have consulted with you before the video 🙏
That’s what I was going to come here to say. But this explains all the construction at the Booker Noe distillery in Boston, KY. Their in the middle of what looks like doubling the size again. Several new tanks installed over the pst couple weeks.
And then they are going to blend the 3 and release that!
What they should've done then, is release it as a 200/200/200 ml bottle set, to let people actually be able to tell the difference. Good luck getting all 3.
@@xSintex Agreed, good luck getting any of them in my area.
YES!! Do a blind between these, PLUS throw in something similar that costs a ton less. Same proof, maybe aged around 8-10 from another company. That would be a GREAT episode

Kurt, I think you just created a new category - you know, like daily drinker, Friday night, special occasion. Now there is a contemplation bourbon. Nice.
I found this 3 weeks ago and bought it for $199 at Binny’s in IL. It is phenomenal and not oaky to me for a 17 Year old bourbon. 🥃
You always bring something new to the Plate... Thanks for help me build what was just a wet bar in the house I bought (and never had before) to an entertainment center for my family and guest..
I sure hope I can find a bottle. We’ve been fairly ordinary here in B’Town lately. I’m heading down to the bourbon trail in a couple weeks and maybe I can pick one up at the distillery. Thanks as usual for a great review and honest comparison versus other whiskies!
Trenton and Kurt, y’all are very welcome! Thanks again for all the great honest content. The Discord reflects the same good folks. Doug (s)
Jacob’s Well definitely gets sweeter as it opens up.
Grabbed a 200ml bottle of this for $35.00 at the Beam distillery gift shop a few weeks ago. Amazing buy.
I recently tried the '23 bardstown collection release and lineage. Loved the beefy, almost bacon fat savory notes I got in those. Because i have the Jacob's well and lineage i decided to pass on the Clermont. Might have to reconsider.
Due to having more whiskey than I can consume in my remaining years, I've tried very hard to buy very little whiskey this year (aside from stumbling across an "unicorn" at retail). So while I always buy the latest Booker's, I skipped them this year and you guys are making me feel great about that. Although you have made me want to step out and start chasing these Hardin's Creek(s).
Always waiting for a new video....the best after work therapy!
Cheers from the Prairies of Canada! 🇨🇦🥃
I have to watch one of you fully on the first sip then have to back up and watch the other. Love to facial expressions especially from Trent.
Glad I passed on the apprentice batch. First bookers ive ever seen for 96$. So glad i didnt pull the trigger. Thats why i love watching these videos of your reviews.
There are a lot of good bourbon channels out there, but what you have that the others don't is the father son dynamic. I have a glass of bourbon watch your videos and hear cats in the cradle in my mind. 😂😂
Great video, sounds like great stuff. If you do a blind with all of them throw in an outlier Beam into the mix too. Cheers
I have not seen this in my area🤥--sounds great!! Not sure I totally agree with you guys about the Booker's but it's pretty hot...I have mine "resting" for awhile to revisit in a few months...
I got this as a surprise father's day bottle from my wife. Not only was I thoroughly impressed with her analysis of it before she purchased it, it's absolutely delectable. Like a pecan pie in a glass
She's a keeper boss...dont eff it up.
I enjoy a lot of Jim Beam products and will look forward to finding a bottle of Hardins Creek to try.
U guys are the best!! Keep it up. Thank u
New to the channel and you guys are just always putting out great content!!! Quick question? Does bourbon or any other alcohol ever go bad from just sitting after opening?
I believe these Hardins Creek releases use the Old Grand Dad mash bill. That would explain the pepper. The 1980s Old Grand Dads pop up on people’s list as some of the best bourbons they’ve tried. These releases probably get as close as you can get in modern times. I passed up on all so far because of the price. I regret it a bit, but that’s a lot of money for me. That said, Beam deserves credit for these fairly priced ultra aged releases. Heaven hill 17 was $259-275. Thanks for the review. Maybe I’ll get a pour at a bar.
What I have been told about Hardin’s Creek
Colonel James
2 years old
Beam original mash bill
Post-prohibition recipe
Jacobs Well
15 years old
High Rye mash bill
Clermont-Boston-Frankfort
17 years old
Original mash bill
Aged in three different Rick house locations
Hopefully this is helpful
Love your channel and content
A couple of dudes with 117 subs! Kinda makes ya pros to me! Thanks for sharing!
Great review. The Hardins Creek series is supposed to highlight the difference location has on whiskey. All 3 expressions contain same juice but housed in different places
Very cool! Thanks for the info.
Hey Guys really enjoy your post. NO ONE DOES IT BETTER !
I'm officially at the zenith of my annual summer gin/tonic consumption; from here it will decrease a bit till I am sick of the stuff, sometime in September. Tomato sandwiches and a gin/tonic are hard to beat, however.
Always enjoy the content
It’s fantastic, intense vanilla extract is what I get the most. Some sweet, rich oak and toasted pecans. It’s a phenomenal bottle.
I need to get this bottle. Haha. Great review, fellas.
My Jacobs well is my FAVORITE bottle i own and i really want to collect more of these but cant find this bottle anywhere yet. Have an extra jacobs well im thinking abt trading for it
I don't mind Jim Beam. I haven't had it in awhile but I had a 12 year age stated Jim Beam that was pretty solid. I'd love to get my hands on this one.
Beam is one of the few distillers I tend to trust w/these types of releases and I don't think you they will ever release anything that isn't top shelf.(Bookers aside) I mean this is an experiment that they started 17 years ago. Very cool and interested to see (any ) differences.
I also got my bottler of Clermont from a fellow discord member.. SLB Shipping always coming through! It is very tasty!
Great job - gotta try this!!
Nice review! I’m jealous:) I’ve been asking about this one for a month. In my area you don’t see them. Still never seen a Jacob’s Well? I would love to get the three new ones and the past ones. Looking forward to the blind lineup!
Can't wait to try this one
I love watching videos of bourbons I'll never find in Pennsylvania.
If you shake the bottle before opening it, does that negate the "neck pour"? Inquiring minds need to know.
Can you guys do a review of various Old Elk??
Just wait until it opens up some. Initially I like JW more. After a couple weeks of breathing, I did them blind and clermont was the winner with KC18 between them.
Just got a bottle for Christmas. He was delicious
Can't wait to see the blind with all the 17yr, please include Jacob's well, too. Honestly $10/yr is never something to get upset with nowadays. 17yr bourbons are few and far between. Also shows Beam has more tricks up their sleeves and can produce a quality LE.
we opened up a bottle on July 4th and was not impressed by anyone who tried it...😐, now that its open we are going to let it sit until Christmas and see if it opens up some or if its just as bad...
Good plan, I have trouble with higher proof 110+ when the temperature is hot. In fact I have a hard time drinking any whiskey and enjoying it when it is over 85 degrees. This seems like it would be great with a Kentucky hug 🤗 on a 40 degree day
Are any of the pre mixed ccocktails any good ?
Have you done a review of the Lux Row 12 Year Double Barrel?
He meant to say, "it's strong like me in that EXTRA SMALL shirt and me flexing"😂
Trenton, please try to “procure” another Booker’s Charlie’s batch. As a bookers fan I find it absolutely amazing, yet I believe only the mash and drum has reviewed it so far.
I just snagged a Frankfort. I haven’t received it yet but can’t wait.
We’re all shelf guys 🥃 cheers
Just snagged the 211 month Jacob’s well for $150 in NY
Great show, guys! Too rich for my blood even IF it could be found in my area. Be well!
Will the 17 open up when it’s below the neck; open for 3 ~ 6 ~ 12 months?
Thanks
Video idea...blind taste test of the basic bargain whiskies...jack, jim, makers mark, knob creek, evan willams, wild turkey
Gin and tonic over long Islands? 🥴
Having started my bourbon journey with Jim Beam I found the 2 year at Total Wine couldn't resist grabbing it. Have not opened it yet. The packaging is neat, with that leather strap catches the eye. Love the review. The Claremont sounds interesting, but 170 dollars I don't know.
Frankfort is coming out in August and Boston in September
The Hardin's Creek series is an interesting concept, and I would like to try a pour of this one at a bourbon bar, but I don't see myself spending almost $200 for a bottle of bourbon.
9:37 84 months is 7 years, not 15...🤔
*edit: I couldn't tell what Trenton said just before mentioning 84 months. I'm curious what it was that he was reading.
I love this bottle, but do you find it weird that the 17 yr age statement isn’t anywhere on the bottle?
Savory is salty or spicy as opposed to sweet
"Horse saddle-y biting a whip" tasting note. Trenton's book keeps writing itself
17 years @ $10 / yr is the current standard. Wish it was $5 - $8 but the distilleries have jumped on the $10...
Hello my friends. Interesting video, Cheers!
Hey Trent, what is your favorite gin??
Monkey 47 :)
I was interested until I heard the price.
Good review. I wonder if you got a bad bottle with the Bookers "Apprentice Batch". I bought one from Costco for $70 because I couldnt pass it up for that price and I like it. It's not the best bottle and it does have a little harshness on it but not that bad to me. I had a bad bottle of Russell's 10 in the past that was all bitter and sour. The next bottle I bough was good.
I’ve been drinking bourbon for 10 years and I still don’t feel there’s typically a huge difference between the neck pour vs letting something “air out”….. Sometimes it makes a difference with bottles, but definitely not as common for me as everyone talks about in UA-cam videos
I think y'all should go buy another Apprentice batch from a different location and try that one. You would think that a company like Jim Beam isn't going to put out something THAT terrible. 17:26
Would be interesting to see how this compares to OF17👀
You need the 2 year for the blind!
I got a pour of the apprentice batch and actually liked it. 😮
I saw a 2 year Hardins Creek recently. Are people actually dumb enough to buy that?
Trenton looks like you have all shirt sizes did you wear M size for this video ?? 😂
Savory…=== Stovetop Stuffing.
😁
Maybe your bottle of Booker's was a skunk bottle?
Is this like a child??? 😂😂😂
All the useless gizmos with the packaging, I wish they'd either invest more in the product or charge less for the juice and forego all the over-done packaging.
Can't afford it and probably never see it. No use getting excited for it.
Out of my budget. I’m sure it is fantastic but it’s a pass for me. And I don’t like the extra things that they put on these bottles and the packaging. Don’t need a tin or box just put it in a bottle!
$170 for a Beam product (I know you guys are in Indiana but...) ARE YOU HIGH LMAO?
The over priced poor quality Bookers, definitely does not justify an $170 fifth of hardins creek.$40,000ish for a barrel retail? No way!
Has to taste like a tree trunk. No way it doesn't and for 199 I'm a pass. I can buy a stagg at secondary for 150.
