    Nicely Done!! Very Nicely Done!! I really did like the 3 color effect, very cool, very cool. Loved the colors you picked as well, they very much complimented each other as each looked like an aged color of the other color on the board, so that was cool as well. Nicely Done!! Very Nicely Done!!

    ooooh so cool! I am building out a 1988 chevy van to live in and travel while working in film. I have made so many mistakes during the build and have so many pieces of miscut wood that I need to make into something beautiful. Thank you for the inspiration!

    Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. I do crafting DIYs and my daughter is into farmhouse decor. I am making her a lot of DIYs for their new home and I needed some ideas on how to do the weathered wood look. She is my angel so I thank you so very much because I know she will love everything I'm doing for her if I follow your steps. Thanks again.

    One thing to do, if you want to make it look like chippy old paint, use wax, an old candle, or whatever. Anyway, you rub wax on the piece, paint, then you can scrape off the paint where you applied the wax. You can add multiple color layers by doing this, too. The channel, "Our Upcycled life," shows how to do this. It is so simple and looks so good. She has several videos on how to paint something to look like old chippy paint.

      If you are looking for solid wood. Poplar paints well. Maple is a good hardwood option but more expensive. You can also do pine but that is a softwood

    Can you do this with fencing that has an original reddish stain?

    • @ArtisanMade

      The real concern is making sure you use a paint that adheres to the stain. I would go to a legitimate paint store and ask them. Don’t ask the big box store. Those people aren’t very knowledgeable

    Thanks, it was cool. Fast and efficient. I sometimes have to fast fwd many videos! I've done the technique before. But, it's been a while. I think I used to lay down some wax in between coats to get even MORE uneven surface of paint to reveal. Will be watching...( any recommendation on a good orbital or palm sander? Mine has broke.)

    • @ArtisanMade
      @ArtisanMade  3 роки тому

      I've been using my dewalt orbital sander for years. It's ok. If money wasn't an issue I would probably buy the mirka or festool. They are ridiculously expensive but they are powerful and have the best dust collection.

    Like this idea next to trying to do antique method, I would like to do something like this with a medium gray and turquoise with the turquoise standing out a bit more with the medium gray that would highlight it in the background to make it look a bit aged, would the egg shell paint be ok to use, I have 2 quarts of each, the store didn't have the matte or gloss in stock at the time I got these, and may use the clear coat of flex seal so it can be easy to clean and dust (these is for my van conversion build, and like to do these color themes for the front facing of storage areas, cabinet doors/drawers, etc)

    • @ArtisanMade
      @ArtisanMade  2 роки тому

      Try the eggshell on a scrap piece first.

    Would you get the same result using a roller as you did with the spray can you think? That brushed technique clearly has it's own look to it, curious if using a roller you'd get the same as the spray.
