Excellent video. Well done
Great work! All of the colours turn out surprisingly vibrant, I may have to scrounge a few old pallets and give this a shot
+Scott McKelvey Thanks! It's a cool technique, and you can even try varying the amount of sanding you do to have heavier areas of paint in spots and more "worn" paint areas for a more natural patina look too.
Thanks Mr. Dork! I've been working with pallets but never tried all these techniques. Very helpful.
You're welcome!

Thanks! I try to make interesting projects, but keep them pretty simple to do.
This is great! Just gave me some great ideas on how to blend some projects into tree background. Going to take an olive green or sage color paints and stain over it with a darker stain or homemade steelwool stain. Oh, for paints, you can also get paint in the "OOPS" paint bins as well.
That's the same method I use. Very easy and great looking.
That IS really neat looking!
Those are great ideas!

I got some pallet wood for my ceiling, but am wondering if I need to treat the first for mold or pests before I paint it? If so, please tell me exact specifics on what I need to use to treat it. Thank you

Wow. Thank you so much for this video. I know nothing about staining, just bought a wooden mirror and it's too light to go with my dresser and I want to go darker. Clearly now I can do some fancy things to it!! Thank you!

Thanks! You're welcome.
thanks...nice effects...!!!!!
Nice!
Thanks!
This is actually pretty neat. I'm building a toy chest for my son out of pallet wood and was wondering about layering stains maybe using this same technique. I have some vintage aqua, weathered gray, and carbon gray stains I'm really looking forward to trying out. Any advice? I'm kind of just throwing myself into it as I've been fascinated with DIYs but have never really done anything like this so I think it's worth a try. Also there's not much info online about how to layer stains this way.
I'm going to try it!
THANKS
It's easy and you can get some really amazing finishes with it.
+MrDiyDork yes

+Troy McGrgeor That sounds cool. How are you using the wood in your car?
It will be an insert on the subwoofer enclosure and I will make it part of the theme.. checkout Car audio Fabrication channel I think you will like it, may help with getting goofy on another project..
+Troy McGrgeor Very cool. I'll check it out.
MANY THANKS FOR INFO!....C
Paint rollers work well to really press the paint into the wood . I use the mini ones . But I’ve not played with actual paint as much as stain . So I think I’ll give paint a go . Do you have any suggestions on how to darken only the grain of wood after you’ve raised the grain with the wire wheel ? Best way I’ve found is torching the crap out of it before using the wire wheel on it . But that’s a lot of work and warps it sometimes. It warped a faux aged mantle I made out of 4x12 pine . And that’s some thick wood . Looking for the miracle . I’m gonna try some antiquing wax . I’ve played with shoe polish a bit too. Shoe polish works pretty good . But I’d like some different colors . The brown in shoe polish doesn’t fit the color scheme I’m going for . The black works good tho . Thank you 😊
Lije that idea thanks for the tip
Thanjs! ;) You're welcome.
great job thx
Dude legendary! thanks and subed.
+Lady Neo Yeah, it's a simple painting technique that really makes the pallet wood pop. Thanks for subbing!
So cool!! Cheers man ;-)
I love that sanded affect. But if I'm looking to do a large area hand sanding is going to take way too long. Any suggestions?
Where do you find that cool paint brush and what do you call that type?
Liked and subbed. I love that brush. I love the antique look. Is that homemade walnut stain?
Wow 😮
That's great. I made a square outdoor planter from pallet wood and now I'm thinking if I had painted + treated the wood strips before using them it would have turned out even better. I used them horizontally - that blue and yellow in your vid would have looked great together in a "striped" planter. Actually that shade of blue looks great in full sunshine. I'm using your method from now on. Thanks for this.... great food for the imagination :)
Thanks
