The sad part is, the Tector Star Destroyer makes perfect sense for a republic fleet, which would have Venators and it’s large Starfighter capacity. The Republic fleets were covered, when it comes to Starfighters, what they needed was flat out battleships designed to obliterate enemy vessels as rapidly as possible. The Empire needed each SD to carry Starfighters, mainly because they got rid of the Venators, so for them this ship made less sense, but it would have been great for the Republic
Hanger bays take up alot of Space as well so having a star destroyer to ditch the hanger in favor of more shields and point defense is logical in a fleet composition. The number one rule of war is: your going to get hit and you have to deal with it. That vessel is literally designed to take point and take hits for their more valuable and vulnerable vessels like the is which has no point defense that I'm aware and ties are the only "reliable" line of defense.
I can see it being used in a Carrier Strike Group role, where the Venator is the carrier, and the Tector and smaller, more durable ships were responsible for keeping the enemy away from the Venator, which would be vulnerable during starfighter launch and recovery. Additionally the Acclamators would be in some forces as the LST to get the army/marines onto a planet
@@rossponding exactly, the Venators had the starfighters covered, but really weren’t made to exchange broadsides with separatist forces, and should be in the back of the fleet mixed in with the Acclamators (and one the true sluggers showed up new Venators should have some of the heavy turbo lasers removed and that power used to add a bunch of anti Starfighter lasers.) That was the Tector and cruisers could engage the Separatist fleet, with the Venators starfighters and bombers, while the Acclamators are safe and protected by the Venators anti Starfighter defenses.
The Tector works great as a ship of the line, accompanied by carriers, like the Venator. But without a peer state competitor to trade blows with, it is just a big target for smaller craft. Which is why the design was modified into the Imperial class, with a sizable hanger bay in house.
The tector class yes sense in a fleet full of multiple very specialized ships. It would take point with a few more of the same while venerators serve as carriers for fighters
I love the GX-1 Lantillian Shuttle It's the ship my protagonists in my novel fly - one of the early versions. Note that the diplomatic versions had that lower pod - which was a hyperdrive capable escape pod (unique even among diplomatic ship models) The ship is also has more space on the inside than you would think (Rebels got the interior wrong which is stupid because the ship was already established in canon via Clone Wars and had the proper size)
@@InventorZahran Unpublished so far. What I can say about it is that it is a realistic slice of life set (in other words, the protagonists are not protected by plot armour and their effect on the universe as a whole is limited so it does not contradict established lore) in the period from the foundation of the Galactic Empire to the end of it, and it will feature a pro-Empire perspective for the most part. The Tector was a truly invaluable ship. Even the Imperators couldn’t just shrug off massed munificent either, though they could take a lot of them. The Tector was actually a very useful ship that solved a very serious issue for Republic forces.

But at the same even tho not all the Jedi on the council suspected Anakin‘s relationship with Padme, Mace Windu and Yoda were suspicious, especially Yoda.
Tector is a specialized ship, something that SW universe is often lacking. There are some carriers so it's natural to have specialized star destroyers that sacrifice fighter bay for more armor and firepower. Allegiance is basically a battleship/battlecruiser sized Tector and with a proper support it can tear battlegroups apart. In a combat scenario with fleet vs fleet you want something like Tector to lead into the battle behind a few Lancer frigates to both dish out and absorb damage, perhaps even lure enemy bombers just to have a few smaller carriers behind to surprise them. Rebels had a similar ship, Wingless MC80 Liberty. We don't know much about this ship but I think it has no hangar at all.

Video idea: how would modern militaries handle titans from attack on Titan
Better yet, how would they handle an Imperial Warlord Titan from the Imperium of Man
Easy. Tank. Easily blow them to bits from miles away.
Nuclear weapons
Balistic missiles
Tanks with heat rounds
Strike aircraft with agms and bombs
Cruise missles
Battle ships
So many options to make it easy
Weapons and tactics
Honestly, titans go down pretty fast to guys with swords.. I suspect they would just capture them for study.
