Would love to see lesser known ships from the Empire like the good old Carrack-class light cruiser or ships from the Corporate Sector Authority like the Maurader-class corvette. Those are a couple of my old favorites.

I recommend you look at EC Henry's series, where he revives ships that were in the background of Empire and Return, but have not appeared since. He's done a great job.
Yeah, I had always thought one or two of these parked at some obscure location outside the galaxy would have been the perfect base of operations for the rebel alliance. Basically use one for manufacturing combat ships and equipment and the other for housing and training troops. Then supply them via a networked transportation hub systems using the huge number of CR-75s the rebellion possessed.
@@johnpatz8395 they were and they did have more than one before they became the Alliance we know from the movies but most were destroyed before the battle of Yavin the last known one ended up above sullust after the locals joined the rebels after they throw off imperial rule this is where most of the fleets formed up after Yavin on a few ships went to other places but the bulk of the Alliance fleet ended up there and half of the ships stayed to defend the world
@@johnpatz8395 In my shops RPG, we just put a Jawa sand crawler into a ship and used it to mine asteroids and create 40 ton condense rods on iron to use as mass diver bolts. Soft abstract math from Starships of the Galaxy the X-wing landing pad cargo weight was 40tons and at full ramming speed the ship impacts as a proton torpedo doing 8d10x2 dmg. med size light to heavy cargo space transport allowed in game, suggested by the core books to keep PC tension high is limited to 99.9/ 100m legth with a .. limited .. cargo carry weight in a few thousands of tons. As for hard math in dealing with kinetic impact weight/ density = mass + speed, that will cover pages to properly go over. And the smallest fusion warhead we could pack into a concussion warhead fired from Y-wing is measure between 1kiloton to 5kiloton yield, base weight of the suitcase nuke is 80lb/ 40kilog of heavy metal and around 20lb of high explosives. Now just figure out the speed/ weight of a MAC kinetic missile fired from a 70m. long ship. Less space fantasy of Force powers and more of a ttrpg wargame.
I know this may be off continuity but the CC-7700 and CC-9600 frigates always intrigued me. The Liberator cruiser as well always seemed a reasonable and well thought out to the Alliance's needs. All from the Star Wars Rebellion game

Oh well of the corellian gunships, that thing in the old West End Games role-playing game was a beast. Glad to see the Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser, that's a cool ship as well. When you do the Empire, don't miss the Strike class medium Cruiser and Carrick class light Cruiser. Also the Empire used Dreadnought heavy Cruisers as well.
Imperial navy is massive, CR-92 was a fun imperial ship, Star Galleon frigate, imperial&victory frigates (aka mini star destroyers), Ton-falk carrier, Doomgiver (although there was only 1) and more heavy cruisers & star destroyers than a single man can remember
I remember playing WEG in high school in the early 1990's and in the early 2000's as an adult with other college level math students. WEG had a .. fun .. ? workable abstract dice rule system for over all combat. What made it wonderful in regards to word math problems was there .. space unit speed .. in ship combat. Also that rule of average travel time between a plant and its nearest moon being within 30 minutes. That way we could figure out what the pacing of knietic impact was in space combat. Such as the Gthrecho freighter moving at 3 space units, the slowest in the book yet in the campaign source book stating it was slightly above average in speed. So we place a space unit speed being 107km/s. & melee or action rounds being 5 seconds in time, =535km/s. travel speed. x ship's space unit factor. At that point we had a base for fuel from the fission drives, structural integrity/ defector shields for base space travel and start to factor weapon damage. WEG was set up as abstract yet they subtle drop some hard math science into game play, not to mention more than a few typos through out the book and on how the Force to work that cause my high school English teachers to roll their eyes on. Both of my two D&D/ MtG RPG shops always took information and style of play from WEG and apply the soft rules into their WotC D&D3.5e/ Star Wars RPG play games.
Love the video. One correction: the MKII Assault Frigate was a ground-up design. The MKI were the modified Dreadnaughts, and I personally think better looking.
Here's a thought. The Rebellion picked up some Lucrehulks, right? Why wouldn't they have gotten the battle droids, too? A Dreadnaught requires 16,000 crew, but a lot of those are for maintenance. A Dreadnaught with 8,000 reprogrammed Battle Droid 1s becomes much more managable.
If people could get past their anti droid sentiment that would make allot of sense, the b1 seems better suited to maintenance and systems operations than they would be for combat.
Please do a video showcasing the lesser known star fighters of the Rebel Alliance, like the V-Wing that was featured in the Rogue Squadron game for the N64!!
The mc30c frigate was known as a capital ship destroyer because of the cluster bombs and the big payload of proton torpedo's. Downside of the ship was its weak hull. Good thing is it was one of the fastest frigates but weak armor. :)
I have definitely watched too many of Captain Shack's Empire at War videos. At this point I can't even hear the name 'pelta class frigate' without thinking 'Eck-balls'!

You could do lesser known ships of the old republic and sith empire and lesser known ships of the eternal empire i think that would be pretty cool like the Terminus class destoryer or the Valor class attack crusier or Eternal battlecrusier commanded by the gemini driods i dont think alot of people know about those ships
The Pelta-class Frigate looks very similar to a Corellian Engineering Corporation design, but it's manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards. Wonder why? Did CEC lease the design to Kuat? Did Kuat model their vessel after CEC designs?
An ISD actually does have a hard counter to the MC-40's tractor beam tactic. Firewall the throttle. At full power, directly behind those engines is not a place you want to be.
Have y'all done the Ship Weapon systems and rated them from older Gen to the Newest? Like how you did with the Light Sabers and sooo many other videos.
In Empire at war playing GC, i got attacked by a big imperial fleet with ISSs and victory classes. All i had was a fleet of 8 DP20s and a level 5 space station. I won but lost 4 dp20s and space station was severely damaged.
most of my attacking fleets as the rebels were 12 DP20s and a fleet commander boosting their health. Took some time but even the Executioner was defeated.
@@jonsnow947 they are underrated by powerful vessels. They dominate tie fighters and bombers and faster than star destroyers. Once you eliminate the fighters and bombers then using guerilla tactics you can be victorious it just takes time.
I'd think do all the other "lesser knowns" before completing the series with the Empire's. I wish you'd list the ships you describe, if not a link then just their title, underneath in the SHOW MORE. Thanks for an entertaining video.

If you play a lot of empire at war mods or a star wars mod for X3, you'll know all of these ships. (Excluding some of the ships that are only seen in books)
Ah, yes... the DP20... the heavily armed gunship... and the reason, why Rebels never even attempted to get a Venator! This "escort" matches Venator in terms of firepower... For those versed in Warhammer 40k universe... that is essentially Sword class sporting firepower of a Gothic.

And apparently it was also upgraded to CR90 spec. New canon just calls it the Tantive III and pretends all that stuff after Episode III never happened, but it is the same ship.

I had never seen these concept arts for the Millennium Falcon before. Yet as someone that is not a fan of the Falcon design I think the change was for the better. I think the original look would more severely have dated things.

Tbh I just don't see how the mk2 cam from the Dreadnought. I see it in the mk1, but the mk2 just looks nothing like it. Best I could guess is that they just liked the role of the mk1 and custom made a similar ship to fill the same job so that they didn't have to keep chopping up dreadnoughts

The CC-7700 actually does appear in Canon in the Tarkin novel but there its being used by the Empire not the rebels.

I love the smaller Star Wars ships. The DR20 is among my favourites, along with the C70 Charger and the Assault Frigate MK I Type VI.

Fun fact the Braha'Tok class gunship can be seen in Rouge One during the Battle of Scarif and in the evacuation of Avalon in Star Wars Rebels

the Sundered heart is not the ship he showed that ship only exists in games and was not tied to the royal house or the Tantive line of ships

I had never seen these concept arts for the Millennium Falcon before. Yet as someone that is not a fan of the Falcon design I think the change was for the better. I think the original look would more severely have dated things.
Interesting choice going with the assault frigate Mk2 instead of the Mk1.
probably because the MK1 is much more well known and this is titled "Lesser Known"
@@theidajawho that could very well be it, although they did include the DP20 Corellian Gunship, the MC30 and MC40 which are probably about as well known as the Mk1.

Tbh I just don't see how the mk2 cam from the Dreadnought. I see it in the mk1, but the mk2 just looks nothing like it. Best I could guess is that they just liked the role of the mk1 and custom made a similar ship to fill the same job so that they didn't have to keep chopping up dreadnoughts
