    She truely could turn a song to greatness.I dont think anyone will every top her or compare to how she could sing or write.
    Greatness only comes so often.

    Many country artists agree that Coal Miner's Daughter is the greatest country song that has ever been written...and I agree.

    Loretta is a living legend and I love her shes amazing -i seen her in 2017 when she was in Minnesota and she still is amazing

    It was sometime in the early 70s that I was gifted enough to see both Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty in concert. I had flown to my aunt and uncle's house in Texas, and when I got home from the airport. I was told they had tickets to see both Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty in concert at the Beaumont Civic Center in Beaumont Texas. All I can say is it was a real gift and I was very young at the time. I still love to hear them both even in my early sixties.

    On this day in 1970 {October 11th} Loretta Lynn performed "Coal Miner's Daughter" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...
    Two months later on December 5th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart for a four week stay, peaking at #83...
    And on December 19th, 1970 it reached #1 {for 1 week} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart {it also peaked at #1 on the Canadian Country chart}...
    Ms. Lynn will celebrate her 82nd birthday in six months on April 14th...

    Since 1960 58 years now Almost 60 years in this business loretta. Was singing in the 50s in grange halls her popularity couldnt hold all those people she became known as the Queen of country Decca Doll first lady has one more awards then any other female country singer thats right before tammy Connie even dolly there where Not many Female country singers Jean Shepard Kitty wells Patsy Dottie west Loretta June Carter And Jan Howard where the leading ladies even tammy dolly and connie said loretta paved the way for me her producer owen Bradley Has said loretta is the female Hank williams Sr that in itself is a high Honer she has sang with the biggest Conway Ernest Tubb even frank Sinatra.. loretta is still going strong God has truely blessed all of us to still have her here with us the others all have gone to hillbilly Heaven
