It's not just Patsy's beautiful, incomparable voice and her exquisite phrasing. It's that sparkle in her eyes. It's her utter sincerity and warmth, her calm, assured intelligence, her charm, humor and courage. Such depth of character, such a lovely, bright, sensitive soul. When she sings, when she looks into that camera and straight into your soul, the connection is direct and deep, and for a shining moment she is alive again, singing just for you. What a woman. What an artist. What a terrible loss.
You simply have to overlook people who have no taste; who are used to hearing "voices" done with autotune and who refer to themselves as "divas." As I always point out, don't confuse the word "diva" with the word "bitch."
In less than 2 weeks from this performance Patsy would perish in the awful storm alongside her manager Randy Hughes & the talented voices Hawkshaw Hawkins & Cowboy Copas. Lord I can't help but cry :(

I'm a hard core metal musician but, that doesn't limit me to what great music & voice is. With Patsy, you'll find one of the sweetest, honest & courageous voices in music. Hands down. That's EXACTLY why she's such an icon to people everywhere, whether they are in the music field themselves or adoring fans. what a gift she blessed us all with.
She was in a car accident that nearly took her life a few years before. You can see the scarring near her eyes. So sad how she then died in a plane crash. A beautiful voice silenced forever. There will never be another like her.
A truly great singer, and a genuinely nice lady. In that 1961 car accident, she was thrown into the windshield, and also had a broken wrist and dislocated hip. The facial injury alone might sink the career of a rising-star 60s female singer, yet she insisted (as her friend Dottie West was pulling glass from her hair) that the other driver receive treatment first. This performance per the description was Feb 23, 1963. The plane crash that took her from us was 10 days later, Mar 5, 1963.
My mom and Dad knew her very well... I can barley Recall Just a Beautiful and Wonderful singer as her only other was Loretta Lynn and Doolittle.. Ate many a Meal at the old Plantation Home With all of us setting around the Table.. Had a CD of PC I used to listen to driving back & forth from Tucson to SLC, UT for drill weekends. It was 700 miles door to door one way. Many of those late night drives, where the night skies of S Utah & far N AZ are largely uninhabited for miles in every direction, it was the perfect time for broken heart songs. I wore out that CD &, thankfully, the heart break finally lessened. Here’s to you Ms Patsy!🍾♥
I'd listen to Patsy with my mom back in the 60's, her "hillbilly" music she called it. Patsy and Linda Ronstadt make you feel their pain and sadness when you hear them sing this song. Lovely.
No one ever phrased better than Patsy Cline. No one. Her voice was, of course, inimitable. But she joined that magnificent voice to brilliant phrasing. Yes, there are some who were as great. But none was better.

Patsy Cline, I fall To Pieces : Never before a better, or even an equal, vocal by a female country artist. There are some things that can never be duplicated. This is one of those things. In a similarity to your post, song4night, I fell to pieces when I first heard this "cry of a broken heart". Growing up in Northwest Arkansas through the 50s and 60s found me cutting my music eye teeth on this lady and others of her generation. They still burn in my memory.
She's not only singing...she's feeling every word in the lyrics, perfect delivery of each phrase, great amazing performer, one of the great ones, they don't make them like that anymore. ♡♡♡
I Fall To Pieces was recorded by Patsy Cline on November 16th 1960. It was her first hit single on her new record label Decca Records. I Fall To Pieces was written by Hank Cochran and Harland Howard Producer was Owen Bradley Floyd Cramer on Piano backed up by the Jordanaires. Patsy was born Virginia Patterson Hensley on September 8 1932 in Gore Virginia She was the oldest of 3 children to Samuel and Hilda Hensley Patsy had a Younger Brother Samuel and a Younger Sister Sylvia Mae Patsy grew up in Winchester Virginia. Patsy Clines first husband was Gerald Cline and they had a brief marriage in the early to middle 1950's She then Married Charlie Dick! Charlie and Patsy had 2 children Julie Dick Fudge born August 25 1958 and Randy Dick born January 22 1961. Patsys early career was with 4 Star records Walkin After Midnight in 1957 was her biggest hit for the label. And she went to Decca Records in late 1960 after her 4 Star contract was up. Patsy Cline had a brief 27 months with Decca Records when she tragically lost her life in a airplane crash on March 5 1963 near Camden Tennessee along with her manager Randy Hughes Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw Hawkins Patsy Cline was only 30 years old.
June, Patsy, Loretta, Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox, Janis Joplin... so many more I can't think of right now. They ALL had 1st class singing voices. I think once a person is THAT good at what they do, there isn't much point in saying that one is better than the other - because they ALL stand at the top of the mountain, and are better than any of us could ever be...

The feel of the band and her voice live must have been incomparable back in the day. All we can do is imagine how much more massive she would have remained had she lived on through the 60’s and 70’s. She remains a legend that we can only dream about now.
Died 52 years ago today 3/5/15. R.I.P. Patsy. You delighted us on earth with your voice till you was called to join the heavenly choir and sing to Gods glory! 🙏❤️

To be fair, Patsy herself said "When it's my time to go, it's my time." Eerie but true!
Just 11 days after this was recorded.
It's a shame she went to the store that night.
Indeed
The cry in Patsy's voice is so sad and beautiful at the same time.
That’s why no one can sing it like Patsy. You know she really understands and feels the lyrics of this song.
Same here . Teary eyed in happiness every time

My 9 month old son absolutely loves patsy cline. If he’s flipping out and I can’t settle him I just chuck on some patsy and he instantly calms down. Amazing voice
what an incredible voice!, how could you give this video a thumbs down ?
probably ppl who dont like this genre and are too shallow to see how amazing she really was
some people just don't get it,
do they!
Yeah, they are indeed noobs, don't know what real music is. I was grateful to my mom for playing classics every weekends :D
Like what you like but don't dis other music for that.
I don't understand what you're saying ?, are you criticizing me?.
The feel of the band and her voice live must have been incomparable back in the day. All we can do is imagine how much more massive she would have remained had she lived on through the 60’s and 70’s. She remains a legend that we can only dream about now.
so beautiful
This song breaks my heart because of how young patsy went away what a beautiful voice never forgotten
Yes, 10days after this. Life isn't fair. 33yrs old, omg R.I.P. beautiful lady.
Patsy Cline is from my hometown of Winchester Virginia and my mom went to school with her. Our family burial plots are in the same cemetery as hers.
No one no.one sings it like Patsy..I miss her terribly! She was a superstar and still is..R.I.P
Died 52 years ago today 3/5/15. R.I.P. Patsy. You delighted us on earth with your voice till you was called to join the heavenly choir and sing to Gods glory! 🙏❤️
This lady was beyond music/voice, still today 2021, she out sells todays talent. Never will there be anyother voice so special and the songs she created, never

Hello,how are you doing
Almost 60 years ago from now December 2022 the music from Patsy Cline just as good as the day back then in 1963 🎵🎶🎵❤️
I'm music person and truthfully I'm not so much enthusiastic with Country Music, but when I listen to a Legend such as Pasty Cline.
Wow ! my heart just soars with gladness.
