Indo-J hey can you tell me what the song is for you outro thing with the red screen?
amzing video like it and always love it
Daniel Stewart Yup noticed that too
@@danstewart4821 Thank you! Thought I was one of the only people who caught this! Such great foreshadowing on the writers part.
Yeah, Jack's first meeting with Ross was some great symbolism
Plus, the other scene with Bill and John the night of Sean's party where he's jealous John's the favorite
But also where Arthur/Lenny/Hosea are buried!
The latter two want to be buried with friends/family (which they are, after the bank robbery, right next to each other)
And Arthur grudgingly admits he'd like to be buried facing the setting sun, on a hill haha
Sean says to Bill “If you were my boss I’d never laugh again” Bill was the leader of the mission that Sean dies in.
Good one
Holy shit
well that’s one way to rip my heart out and yeet it to tahiti
I completely missed that connection.
Didn’t even think about that sir bravo
"There ain't no way Dutch is just gonna hide away in a cave somewhere. Goes against everything he stands for. That'd be admitting that we're nothing but low-down criminals." - Arthur Morgan, 1899.
Yeah
Bailey Alexis Snow I feel like that’s one of the many ways the game shows Dutch went crazy, even if it did go against everything he stood for he went in to the caves and everything went to shit
Then in the end of RDR1 he tries to hide in a cave...
@@yourmom6013 It was never about ideals, John says in the 1st game that they were just excuses to rob and kill who they wanted.
Even during Chapter 6, the camp was at the mouth of a cave.
I like the one where Lenny tells Micah that when he dies, there’ll be a big party. And then John gets married after he dies
After 9 years ?

I think it was “he’d look for me” regardless he was right lmao
haha
You're not wrong
You forgot when Arthur said to Sean about his head being hit on the train "at least you don't have a hole in it".
True, my bad
I love the way RDR1 ends with Jack walking away and the title card popping up that shit was so hard lol
It was
You would like The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly.
The best and only way to end a game like that.
I got fucking goosebumps on my balls.
I'm kinda sad 2 didn't end like that but with marston
Also when your looking for your camp in Rhodes Arthur says Dutch is not the kind of man to hide out is some cave, but just look at the last camp.
Noremac Thims he also Hides in a cave in RDR1 and commits suicide by jumping out of a cave.
Really ?
@@IndoJordy Yes that foreshadowing was really good and it was when Arthur rides with Charles to get a new camp location
FINALLY SOMEONE MENTIONED THIS! Thought I was the only person that caught that reference.
Oddly enough, in Chapter 6, they don't actually hide in a cave... They set up camp outside of it for some reason. That always bothered me. I was always looking at that camp like "why did you set up OUTSIDE of the hideout? That entrance is tiny, if the Pinkertons attacked it, they'd be mowed down!
These two moments of foreshadowing I like:
After Arthur talks with Agent Milton while taking Jack fishing, Agent Ross tells Jack, "Enjoy your fishing, kid, while you still can." They first met by a river, and Jack later kills Ross by a river.
Second one is John telling Javier in El Presidio, "I ain't the judge, but...as it turns out, it's you or me. The way I see it, might as well be you." The second game shows that John gets it from when Dutch drowns Angelo Bronte and feeds him to an alligator before saying, "It ain't nice, I know, but it's either us or him! I figure it might as well be him." That part kinda transforms John's quote in the first game to not only badass but also directly quoting Dutch.
Spoilers ahead!
Also dutch was quoting himself before he jumped of the cliff in rdr1

Bill is just a younger, trigger happy Uncle without Lumbago
Yup
bill could never live up to the title of "the one shot kid"!
The Womping Wampa Uncle despite his laziness was one of the smartest members of the gang, Bills dumb as hell.
do NOT disrespect my mans uncle like that ever again
What’s lumbago?
Jack Marston becoming a gunslinger is the saddest moment in all of RDR 1 and 2. Everything they did was so that this boy had a chance to grow up and be something else. Nobody wanted him to be an outlaw, including he himself I think. But violence begets violence, and the viscous dance continues, all in the name of revenge, generation after generation. There is no redemption, only vengeance. What a series.
I’m pretty sure that Jack doesn’t carry on being a gunslinger. In gta you can find a book called red dead redemption and it says that the author is j.marston. I think that Jack grew up to become an author and write about his adventures in the Wild West.
@@alan897100 I don’t think GTA and RDR are in the same universe. California and New York are real places in RDR but in GTA they are called San Andreas and Liberty City.
@@Nandoswitharando I think it's just a bit of a convergence. Like how the 3d era shares some things with the HD but they aren't entirely in the same universe. So like red dead happened but some things were different, like the Mandela effect sorta
When you put it that way, he gives me a whole lot of Jax Teller (SoA) vibes. Considering that the bikers are basically modern cowboys, you know the outlaw life and the steel horses. John Teller didn’t want the outlaw life for his son just like John Marston but he died before he could do anything about that. At least Jax succeeded at rescuing his sons from the outlaw life.
And their names are basically the same too lol
John Marston / John Teller
Jack Marston / Jax (Jackson) Teller
Ya Jack only wanted to get vengeance for his whole family the gang and leave it at that
I think the better foreshadowing of Jacks future would be when Arthur took him fishing, they ran into Edgar Ross and he said, "Enjoy the fishing while you still can, kid." To Jack. A decade later, Jack shoots Edgar while he was fishing.
Well Ross was duck hunt- ehh forget it XD
I’m surprised people are still getting this wrong. Ross was duck hunting, not fishing but they met next to a river and they meet for the last time by a river.
Deathpool_04 fish hunting duck hunting stop taking it so literal
Im salty...how do you get something like that worong, the guy is carrying a shotgun...how the fuck his he fishing?
3Block Ko I didn’t mean to say it in a aggressive or offensive way but really? The game’s been out for 3-4 months now. It’s really surprising that people are still getting confused. It’s almost like the thing where people confuse the hat that Arthur gave to John to be the same one that John wears in RDR1 which is wrong too when they are clearly different hats.
They all should had made me the leader of the gang
True that uncle
Uncle what about your lUmBago
@@Wildcard-Jack-47 Oh shit

@@itzsilver6421 its a serious medical condition
There’s a camp encounter where Dutch says he has two theories on how to argue with women and neither of them work. John uses that line in RDR1 Hes a goddamn line thief.
I know that one
There are a few occasions when you hear Arthur repeating stuff you've heard Dutch say, such as that line about revenge being a fool's errand. It really shows how charismatic a leader Dutch was in his prime.
@@petermcconville0
or how hypocrite he is...
also the "it's either us or them, might as well be him" line
“Can’t fight... gravity” I love that recurring speech. It sums up Dutch perfectly. All he ever has done is stir up as much chaos as possible and then run like a coward when consequences arose. His death was him finally attempting one last escape.
I really liked how both times before he jumped off the cliff he went, “I have a plan… This is a good one.”
When you are in the epilogue of RDR2, after you build your ranch, when you get out of the barn it have the same animation and light effect as when John dies in RDR.
Really ?
indo-J at least I think so.
Yup I loaded up a previous save just to check out of curiosity
When Dutch and Arthur jump off the cliff to escape the army Dutch gives the same speech he did when he jumped off a cliff in RDR 1

Lol over her dead body "jack waits till she dies" murders edgar😂😂
"Revenge is a fool's game, let it go it was so long ago."
These words come to mind with many people in this series. Dutch, Micah, Bill, John and Jack.
Red Dead is nothing but a series of tragedy, revenge and hollow victory. The endings are bittersweet, you finish it but never feels how you want it.
Well said
There is one in the epilogue where Sadie and John catch a mexican gang member from Mexico. John comments he would never go to Mexico.
Edit: John makes a comment in the end of the mission " Afavor for an old friend"
Really ? Thanks for the heads up !
Indo-J it's in the mission A favor for an old friend.
there is a dialogue between Javier and Karen about visiting Mexico someday (this makes me hope that she can appear in a DLC in Mexico)

“But I wanna be a gunslinger when I grow up!” Awwww he says that so innocently.
2:33 Dutch had the exact same line after The shootout at Bronte’s house
No he didn’t
02:35
Dutch after killing Bronte in RDR2: "It's us, or him. I figured it might as well be him."
They are so different, but it's pretty obvious that John was raised by Dutch
Well yeah you hear john talk about how dutch met him when he was only 12 years old I believe. So he was raised by the gang definitely
“You Killed My Father. Prepare to Die” - Jack Marston
I think a much smaller foreshadowing moment that people don’t pay attention too is in Rhodes, if Arthur helps this doctor get his wagon back after it’s been stolen he gives Arthur a book that helps you craft tonics to help your health, and the doctor will say “it won’t help with anything chronic, but you might not need it too” this is all before we start to notice that signs of Arthur being severely sick.

Man, Javier is so different in Rdr1, it’s kinda sad how cold he became... Edit- OMG THIS IS THE MOST LIKES I EVER GOT! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!
Bill was the dumb but hilarious muscle of the gang
He turned into a psychopathic murderer with no remorse for anyone
Javier was the music-loving refugee that sang wonderful songs for everyone to hear, and also loyal to a point.
He became a cold, merciless hitman for the Mexican government, turning on his former brother-in-arms
Dutch was the charismatic leader that would do anything for his family, even saying that he would gladly die in their places when they lose a member.
He became a ruthless, disgusting, shell of his former self, using natives to his own advantage to get his way, and attempted to gun down someone who had known him since he was 13 with a gatling gun.
The Rockstar Gamer
Did any of them actually change? Or did they just become more of who they are.
That’s what Rains Fall was asking Arthur.
Dark Flame I actually loved Javier in Rdr2
True
Zayd Ahmad true. Although the same could be said about you, the player. If you chose to go down the dishonorable path, did you change into something else? Or were you just becoming more of who you really were?
Everyone’s fate is always death, but they all made their own moral choices in the end that led them to how they faced their own deaths. Some left and chose to struggle through the honorable side; while others stayed for the money/familiarity and embraced their dishonorable side.
I hate how things ended with Javier I really believe he was one of the real ones on the team

That would have been amazing
And then after arthur kills bill he just says “alright well, i should be getting on”
Jack: excuse me mr Ross we haven’t met before
So they just forgot about the time when he and Milton rudely interrupted Arthur’s and Jacks fishing trip

Both these games are the best of all time. There’s so much character development not just for the protagonist but also the minor characters.
Yup, rockstar makes masterpieces
3:11 sean was like "no way am i missing this".
😆
Sean saying “I’d never laugh again” in the first one is also foreshadowing because bill was in charge of the mission where he got shot
3:08 Javier jumps like a true Mexican (not trying to be mean or anything)
There’s better foreshadowing moments. Like the time in Colter when Javier is convincing Arthur to look for John, and Javier says “if I was lost, he would look for me”. Or when Ross tells Jack to enjoy his fishing while you still can. And also I don’t know if anyone got this quote but while riding with John in like 2nd chapter he said for “Dutch is different, he’s not the type of man that would hide in a cave...
Thanks for the heads up
My favourite foreshadowing moment is when Javier says to Dutch that they should just scatter, Dutch answers that they will just become fools who get hunted down, followed up by "Isn't that right John?"
Should have included the scene when Ross meets Jack.
“Enjoy your fishing, kid, while you still can...”
When I first played RD1 9 years ago I was like who the hell is Dutch
Yeah and Javier came out of the blue
yeah like... who are these people? the game doesn't really say anything about it other than they're "The gang you used to run with". it's almost like they planned to make an epic prequel 9 years later

5:01 forshadowing within forshadowing
😂
Edgar first meets jack when he's fishing
Jack years latter kills Edgar when he's fishing
When he is duck hunting
There's also at one point where you go fishing with Dutch and Hosea after you move to Clemens Point,at the end of the fishing mission he said something like "I think.....i mean we...are fine whenever i got the two of you by my sides.."
Which is really ironic because after Hosea and Arthur Death the whole gang just collapsed.
God, the voice acting in RDR1 was so good. Especially that scene between Javier and John, it sounds like a real conversation.
7:10 was expecting
"I am your father"
I can't believe I'm saying this but does anyone else see the hesitation in Micah before he shots aurthurs
"Damn You". Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh gunshot
Lol only just now realizing John is quoting Dutch's philosophy on weakness "it's you or me and the way I see it might as well be you"
on the cliff with the army captain is foreshadowing to the end of red dead redemption
Technically Jack was part of the Van de Lin gang so he is the last member that survived
Sadie, tilly, Mary, Charles and a few others lived
Looking back at RDR1 from the perspective of RDR2, I feel the only character that Rockstar kind of retconned was Javier. His character is such a 180 in RDR2 from the coward he kind of becomes. Everyone else who survives into RDR1 I feel is spot on to how they should be. That said I would love to see a DLC on Javier to see how he changes into what he becomes.
Nostalgia hit me with RDR 1

2:46 I never really noticed this before, but I don't think Dutch was ever in Colombia. When John sees him in blackwater, he's the leader of the skinners.
Javier was probably trying to get John to go to Colombia and set him up.
Anyone else notcie the foreshadowing when jack met Ross while fishing and killed him while Ross was fishing. They started the same way they ended.
You mean Ross was duck hunting
It’s small but John using Dutch’s “it’s either him or us, and the way I see it, it might as well be him” line when confronting Javier is such a perfect link
I also liked what uncle says to Arthur in chapter 3 during one of the mission, "You're a sick man Mr. Morgan, a very sick man"
did you guys ever notice that when john killed dutch in rdr1, dutch used the same quotes as when him and arthur jumped into the river when being chased by the military in rdr2 “you can’t fight nature” “you can’t fight gravity”
Uncle Arthur is so proud of you boah. So proud of you Jack
Why wasn't Arthur's good ending death here? It was foreshadowed early in the game.
Part 2
I love how last time Javier saw John he stood with Dutch but still wouldn't point a gun at him because he considered him a brother and the next time he welcomes him as a brother and even with John pointing a gun at him specifically, he still doesn't go for his gun.
Also when robbing the train in chapter 1, Lenny reads some papers out loud from the safe in Cornwall’s train car, where he notes sugar imports from the Spanish west-indies (Guarma) and a fancy new boat he ordered from Europe (likely the same boat he is getting off of when Dutch kills him).

forgot the dailogue when arthur is asked how he would like to die, he says "probably facing west watching the sunset" which forshadows his death when u get the good ending when going with john.
Charles also buries Arthur on a hill facing west, and acknowledges that that’s what he wanted
The opposite happened, though, he died facing east, which meant not the end of his life and the gang's, but the beginning of John's new life.
@Mike Hunt
Except Arthur died during the sunrise
True facing east
Good 👏honor👏is👏canon
People who hate jack just because he turned out exactly like his dad don’t understand the tragedy of the read dead series
The funny part is, jack doesnt actually become a gunslinger, he kills ross and then becomes an author
@@A5AP_AV we dont know this its just a theory
Read dead? Did you misspell that on purpose because Jack loves to read?
@@AcelJean you're funny.
@@drippydooku6347 no he does in gta 5 the is a book on Franklins shelf called red dead redemption the arthur jack Marston
You know if you kill Javi in the First Red Dead John has a regretful expression on his face, even after he spat on him. Yet when he kills Bill he gives no sign of regret. Guess John truly saw Javiar as a comrade than Bill.
Bill was a great character as was Javier, and John wanted peace when he was capturing Bill. People just hate Bill for being white
True
@@wooza5919 no I just hate bill lol
jesus christ himself I’m not so sure because he’s white is why people hate him, might be how he betrays you, creates the most horrid gang in the first game, kills innocent and tried killing John
jesus christ himself bro what, bill is a total dick. he constantly starts fights in camp, is constantly messing up, and is always drunk. Javier is like the opposite 😂
Bill changed a little javier changed into another man
True that
A coward? Do you want me to kill john amigo, thats why you call me a coward?
Javier Escuella Lmao I killed you in rdr1 amigo..
Really though
bandito dorito Fuk Bill
Out of all the ones who didn’t side with Arthur, Javier was probably the best.
In the end i hated him tho
he was so cool but he was just too loyal
In the last scene where the gang points their guns at arthur and john you can see that Javier isn't actually aiming at you but at the sky because he can't bring himself to kill us
nah bro fuck javier he’s just a mindless follower
He prioritized loyalty
"I know if the situation were reversed, he'd look for me." - Javier Escuella on John Marston, 1899
Chapter 1
Only the situation was not reversed. Javier searches for a wounded friend in desperate need of help out of loyalty and concern.
John however, is forced to hunt down a backstabbing fugitive who he'd have preferred to forget.
I mean-
If you think about it, John is worse than Micah as he killed members of the gang. I guess Micah killed Arthur, but he would die regardless
PinkKoala well sorta but Micah causes the deaths of most gang members like Hosea, Lenny, Mrs Grimshaw, Arthur and In a way Micah also killed John
He did indeed become a gunslinger over her dead body..
True
Was he really a gunslinger? The only thing he does is kill one guy. Sure you can do stuff outside of finding Ross but he's not the same as John
@@ayeyobossman6151
Im pretty sure Rockstar is going to dive deep into his story now.
@@tryhardf844 but there's no "wild west" at the end of the first game. It's world war 1 about that time.
ohIcanChangeMyNameIDKthat
The spirit could still be there
The change in Javier personality is unacceptable
yeah other actor
Similar to how Dutch changed
Sebastián Salerno // nah.... dutches change you can see happen before your eyes. Javier it felt so sudden.
Yeah cuz he's "loyal"
While I agree that seeing him in both games back to back, it's jarring, we have to remember that it's more than ten years between when we last see him in RDR2 and his appearance in RDR1. A lot happened to him in that time. My thinking is that soon after the end of RDR2, Dutch abandoned Javier and Bill, leaving Javier with no authority figure to guide him and leaving him distraught and with nothing left. Having nothing left for him in the USA, he went back to Mexico, becoming a gun for hire and slowly becoming more violent, selfish, and careless as the life he once cherished completely collapsed around him.
I like how John's grave says "Blessed are the peacemakers" and Arthur's grave says "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness". Sums both them up perfectly.
👍
Doesn't Arthur's grave say different things depending on your honor level?
@@mangopie7602 Yes. If he has low honor, it says something like "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" or something like that.
Matt S spot on
Actually Arthur's grave says "It could have gone smoother" And you can't tell me otherwise.
I implore Bill to be careful about starting his own gang.
😂
You mean M a r i o n
You IMPLORE him?
Implores
I insist

Its funny cause in the good ending, after Micah leaves Arthur to die, Arthur smiles for a bit
He did
In RDR2 When John kills the rival rancher, he stands in the exact pose with the Sawed-Off Shotgun that he does on the Red Red Redemption cover
They should have made him use that pose on Micah
NO WAY
