I have had no luck using pure sphag. Even very loosely packed. Roots just rot. I find it hard not to over water with moss. I never get how to fertilize with moss without drenching it. No problem using it in a mix, or for mounting. Good video!
I think all sphagnum muss becomes peat over time. It usually takes quite a long time, that's one reason why peat is not sustainable. Moss bogs are usually very acidic. Thanks you for the insights into how and why you grow in moss!

How long does the moss last to propagate as much plants as possible? Does it have a limit?
Chilean sphagnum moss usually lasts 1-2 years.
