    When I added a strut tower and remover the bolts the tower popped like you described. I thought I F’d something up but I guess I unknowingly just gave myself negative camber 🙌🏼

    Thanks for the info!! Question.... What are the specs to your wheels? I also have a CTR 2019 and recently requested for a quote for 18" wheels from an online wheel company and they recommended not to downsize due to the possibility of not having enough clearance. I'm assuming they are referring to the Brembo set up. Much like yourself and many, many CTR owners on UA-cam, you have all downsized your wheels (everyone I've seen has 18's). Not once have i heard someone say they had clearance issues. Your help and guidance will be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi, will be a way to revert back to stock? I bought a Type R with this modification and the car cannot get alignment. Tried talking to Honda and want to charge $350 in parts and $400 of labor to put a screw?! Do you remember what type of screw is? And do I have remove the strut to put it back in? Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks

    Still not seen what these a are set up to from factory or after the camber Mod
    Would be interesting to see as it is one of the best handling cars how it is set up
    Also is there a camber kit for the back also .
    My Ep3 vastly improved after camber kits as from factory not enough camber and also not much castor on front but can get used to that

    Thank you for the video, how can be sure that the camber doesn’t disturbed when you take hard corner ?

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  3 роки тому

      On strut based cars, our cars, camber isn't a dynamic setting, so cornering doesn't change camber. In double wishbone suspension cars, loading up the suspension increases negative camber, dynamically.

      The point is to have the right adjustment for the camber to not wear off the tires on the inside only !

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  5 років тому

      Exactly, the more negative camber is worse for tire wear, but better for turning performance

  • @alfonsotejeda6931
    @alfonsotejeda6931 5 років тому +1

    So the negative side effect for street or daily driving is that tires will reduce its working live but for tracking matters that change or adjustment will improve turning performance? Am I right or misunderstood the explanation? Kind regards

    • @FlyinGato

      That's exactly right, tire life will be reduced and your turning performance will increase. You may also get a bit more torque steer

      @@FlyinGato I'm not sold on this, cause rear is still in spec. It's going to take the traction control system for a ride (unless that's off too). When I had my 98 Civic lowered 1.3 inch with Prokit springs, took it to Honda dealership that was recommended by performance shop for alignment after installation. They couldn't get it perfect, but the slight negative champer (from being lowered) probably contributed to that car being a handling beast (lost only about 20% on tire life from neg champer). However, on the 90s Civic, everything was mechanical and same type of suspension system both front and back. Can't say the same for these new fancy traction control system that might not be optimum when car's out of spec. improved grip in the front, while back remains the same might be optimal around the turns, but in drastic transitioning, the drastic swing to less grip in the front (cause of neg spec) is going to make things more squirrly in an emergency situation.

    • @FlyinGato
      @FlyinGato  5 років тому

      Yep, I’ll go into detail this week about what negative camber does to handling, but in short, negative front camber improves turn in and front lateral grip, which is super important in a FWD car. Now, the R is already set up to be tail happy , but for fastest times, you’ll want the extra negative camber

  • @CompCrasher86
    @CompCrasher86 5 років тому

    I just checked and my sport hatch has this too. My e46 had the same method of gaining a little extra negative camber. Bummer because I just got my alignment done a few days before this video came out. Ah well.
