Installing HKS Coilovers on The FK8 Civic Type R

- Our biggest complaint in regards to the handling of the Type R was cornering. Though the setting changes that Honda provides are great, we needed something a little stiffer, with more manual adjustability.
Our friends at HKS were kind enough to help us get the perfect setup for our FK8 Type R and we couldn't be happier with the results.

HKS coilovers is nice performance for Type R but expensive!
They are so beautiful!
Seriously!!!
Can you please do a video install on a Q60 RS400?
What is the height adjustment on these coilovers?
Does anyone know how much would labor be to swap coilovers on a Type R?
The real question is can you still use the switch mode from comfort to R mode?
I had the same question. Probably no longer affect the stiffness. Maybe still affect throttle response!
i want hks hipermax S on my BRZ ZC6
They are a great option! Give us a call to get a set!
Not to be a pedant, but it is ADS not ADC. It is repeated so many times.
Homie said ADC like 17 times too 😂
The Type R rides so good stock from Comfort, Sport and R mode. Such a waste of money to do coilovers.
Not if you track your car
alot of unnecessary work... if you just do it spoons way it would have been way easier and faster.
dirt nasty low lmao
Dont do it..oem is better
what about springs??
how is oem better?
@@tavo.simracing i guess its better in the sense that you have flexibility with dampening. But as far as performance goes, comparing +R mode to these coilovers, the aftermarket is prob much better.
@@tavo.simracing I can't find the link now but there was a team of people testing coilovers on the type r by comparing track times. It took months of dialing in the suspension to produce times better than the oem set up. The car is perfectly balanced from the factory, once you start throwing on a bunch of parts, changing the suspension geometry, you throw that balance off. Just slapping some coilovers on without accounting for that change in other components and calling it a day will end up worsening actual track performance even if you think it 'feels' better.
@@darkknight097 idk about perfectly balanced. on the track, i get the rear end getting loose a lot under heavy braking which i mean for fwd is pretty common since all the weights in the front. i do see your point though.
That’s a little bit unsafe , but don’t drop the part 🤦♂️
Less talk 😂
