Josh, I'm a long haul trucker, and your story telling makes the miles go by faster. It especially adds to your stories when I'm running the areas you're talking about.
Wow, Josh. You make such a difference in people’s lives, as this comment shows. I absolutely adore your storytelling and so many people clearly feel the same way. Thank you for all that you do.
Thanks! For real the best Wild West UA-camr. we really do appreciate the amount of work you put in these videos! You make them educational and entertaining with the right amount of humor!
Ohhh man, I'm going to love all 9 hours and 35 minutes of this Mountain man series!!! Been on a long binge reading all about them the past few months! Mostly series novels based on factual history but some other great ones like 1 about Kit Carson. I love this channel!!!
Dude I love to listen to history when I sleep. If you even just did some long format collages. 8 hours or something I think it would do well for you. You'll get 30 or 50 plays from me a month.
I love it when you say "that's about it" and then go on for another 5 minutes with additional content! Seriously, not being sarcastic. I genuinely love it!
Josh ... subbed about 2 months ago when I found your podcast! You need your own TV show brother, you are fantastic at what you do. I speak in front of people for a living, you have the chops! 9.35 hours - I'm in heaven.
Thank you for all your stories and how funny you are. I listen to you every night when I go to sleep and I just want you to know I appreciate all the stories.
Im a new listener and I'm sure glad I did. I'm a history fan and especially a fan of the old west. Your homespun humor makes a body laugh, your a very talented young man. Keep up the good work.
I am six hours in and even that has taken me a few days but, I love this! The mountain men epoch is one of my favorite (may well be my absolute favorite) in American history. And how wonderful to be able to refer to one video rather than flip through my saved folders for several!
Good day buddy my workday is now set. Much thank you the enthusiasm that you put into your stories is a plus. As I put my earpiece in my phone in myback pocket continue my day. Sometimes I have to stop and be like I need to see a picture of the guy he's talking about. Really dig your stories. A picture somewhere sometime a tobacco spitting spur wearing cowboy, fighting along the side of maybe Mongols ,samurais, I see gunsmoke from one cowboy as he fights along the side of sword Wheeling lunatics like himself. Keep up the good stuff you do great work
I found your channel probably a month ago and I gotta say it's absolutely addicting!! You do a really great job researching and narrating this history all out
I like your stories. I just listened to your voice for 9 hrs. Distinctive, funny style, and those little extra lies/haha's. You made chicken kill'en tonight at work bareable. So thanks for that. And who cares if you can't pronounce some names.
Lol speak for yourself. Lol I sleep with Josh yapping in my ear quiet often. Only one problem is Josh is a bit too entertaining and sometimes I don’t go to sleep so fast. 😂😂
I just want to say my job is very long and very boring and finding long videos is just the best please make more crazy long videos we love you and we love you
😮 29:14 you still have to swim underwater and get inside the hole to get inside the Beaver Lodge and you cannot tell until you're in there if there's beavers in there
Speaking of Jim Bridger. You spoke of everything he saw in his lifetime. H😢ow cool would it be for us to go back and Jim seeing how. we live now. I wonder if he would think of all our modern conveniences? Would he think they were great, or would he just want to climb back in that time machine and go back? I know that I have serious doubts about myself being able to survive. Those women were tough as nails. WHAT NO MICROWAVE? I could go on and on. Just washing the clothes took all day, but yet they still cooked dinner from scratch! Im afraid I would have gone for the "oldest profession." Keep up the great job.
Damn hard to free up 9 & one half of an hour with deer season coming in but I did ! Took a week and some but well worth it. Thanks for these Great put togethers .
Dude its been too long since we heard about core of discovery and any wild west stories about time you put a trucker episode together 😅 no for real good stuff id like for you to start telling about the pioneers of iowa, nebraska, mid west states there are very good stories just harder to research but think you would find some interesting topics
Rare is the officer with a thought process. Those that do? They develop soldier teams who will happily follow them through the gates of hell, combat vet, Casey in AZ
You need to check out a Book collection called Preacher The Last Mountain Man and The last Mountain Man Smoke Jenson. Both of these books follow a lot of these Bridger and Glass stories with different names great series of books you would be amazed how accurate the books with other names follow your Mountain Man series
As far as Bridger owning slaves. Slavery was a horrible stain on human history , but all the natives took each other as slaves , white men , black men , and natives owned slaves. It was a different time. And a different world. I dont think you can judge a mans character in those days by if he had a slave or not. Even though to us and rightfully so it is an awful and horrible thing. To these men it was a different life than we know.
3:24:20 A good amount of officers were/are stuck in their ways as a "West Point Graduate" or any other prestigious ROTC program, with sort of a superiority complex. A majority of them aren't, but every once in a while, you'll get someone who's been in 1-3 years as an officer and won't listen to the advice of NCOs who have been there for 6+ years. Not shitting on them by any means, they'll learn the hard way when they fuck something up terribly and their NCOs gives them the look of "I told you so."
@WildWestExtravaganza the Clark expo carried real air rifles look into it its pretty awesome I always thought airguns were relatively new idea uh naw lol the Clark's carried airguns on their expedition
@WildWestExtravaganza not only did the Clark expedition carry air rifles they were automatic rifles that fired rapid led balls that scared the Indians so bad they said hey man will do whatever you want lol
4:45:45 "I am not a very attractive man"- Josh, you can't fix a mistake with a lie, you big beautiful man, you. These French are out of control, and I for one, will have none of it Sir, none of it I say!!
Anybody here ever skint grizz?
Nope. Bet I will
Skint one never even seen one
Na, but I've been known to cut a fart.
Just as fast as you can catch em
O nothing bigger than a coyote
Josh, I'm a long haul trucker, and your story telling makes the miles go by faster. It especially adds to your stories when I'm running the areas you're talking about.
Check out The Last Mountain Man books on cd Smoke Jenson and Preacher Series. They follow these stories just using different names great
Stay safe out there

Don’t work too hard
A epic about trappers would be an awesome movie in these new manly days. Even just an Oddesy rip off like the Wizard of Oz or Star Wars.
Great Narration
Thanks
My autism led me hear. 1hr 46 minutes in and my edibles have kicked in. Maybe I am really high, but your voice reminds me of Danny McBride.

You forgot to recall that the Lewis and Clark expedition had some different Spanish and Italian air rifles from 32 cal up to 72 cal
