  • This is one of my first proper videos when I learned how to edit n stuff after buying a really good phone that allows lots of recording,as most of my vids before this were rushed and I only had a couple of minutes memory to record stuff, I edited wrong in the middle as I expected the crank to slide in easier, the crank installer was at my friend's so I took the engine there as he was still needing to use it and I forgot to record installing the crank sorry,. you can See this engine get put into another 1990 frame I've just bought for £120 I've still got the 2 1988 projects to do soon. I am uploading today thanks for watching,please share the vid contact me if you need a cheap rebuild done thanks verymuch👍

    This video was so helpful thanks man and I do have a question tho iv got 2 big rings with my clutch plate they’re both slightly different and im not sure on what way and where they go it’s a kx100 1995

    • @2strokemxclassics
      @2strokemxclassics  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi m8 thanks for watching glad it helped 🙂yeah they go onto the inner boss first and one of the clutch plates will have a larger diameter to fit over the spring and damper ring then the rest of the clutch plates and steel ones are fitted,I've put some together which haven't came to me with the damper ring or sometimes it's been on the 2 Nd clutch plate up like on Yamaha DTR 125 clutch's with the damper ring in the 2nd late up, but if you type into google kx 100 1995 parts diagram,then pick csml (as they do good diagrams) and you will see all the parts diagrams if you click onto the clutch diagram it will show you the 2 rings and the clutch late with the bigger diameter too,hope this helps bro👍

      I think they use a different crank on the 91 onwards I'm sure it's longer on the flywheel side than a 88 to 90 the cases are the same so all bearings and seals will fit, yeah mitaka are OK m8 I think I have the sizes of bearings and seals, do you have a 88 crank I have a rebuilt one on ebay

    With the gear changing shaft, should it have play in it? I rebuilt the clutch, put case back on and tightened, and it cracked my clutch cover? and I wondered if it is supposed to be stationary? I pushed on it and it moved slightly to the lefthand side of the bike. is that normal? I looked side on to the case and the shaft sticks out a little bit, and on the clutch case there is a little upstand which rests on the gear changing shaft and i would guess pushes it down to create tension for some reason? do you have any idea why it would have cracked my case?
    Currently trying to JB weld it, I don't think it will work, so fingers crossed I can find a spare cover somewhere!

    • @2strokemxclassics
      @2strokemxclassics  2 роки тому +1

      I'm not to sure, whereabouts has it cracked the case, the gearshaft should be tight in tooked behind clutch basket and not be able to move sideways, I am on insta same name as this but one word u can send some pics over👍

    • @2strokemxclassics

      Whats the difference in gearbox bearing on the years as iv got a hot rods gearbox bearing kit 1997 for mine that is exactly same as yours to look at but the kit has 2 large bearing with a race not just the one that I believe is the countershaft bearing and info would be grate thanks in advance jack.

      Same bearings for all years m8 88 to 07, yav got ya 2 main bearings, next ones smaller to that are frontsprocket and the one behind the clutch basket, then yav 2 smaller balancer shaft, there is a needle bearing aswell a dunno if its came in the kit but normally ya can buy all the other bearing single but one neddle roller has to come from yamaha m8

    Installed flywheel and stator, after tightening the flywheel nut, now it want crank? What could be the problem

    • @2strokemxclassics
      @2strokemxclassics  2 роки тому

      Hi All a can think is stator could be catching on flywheel magnets, is it the correct stator and flywheel, if its not that maybes the crank is pulling over tight to main bearing when the flywheel is locking and pulling the crank

    • @Drigo103
      @Drigo103 2 роки тому

      @@2strokemxclassics thanks for reply. Yes, correct stator… should I break it down again? what would be the solution?

    • @2strokemxclassics
      @2strokemxclassics  2 роки тому

      No probs what I would do is take the flywheel/stator off make sure nothings catching when stators in wheel then take the barrell off and with stator off if it's moving OK put the flywheel an stator on an see if it's that, it sounds like it is to me check the gaps on each side of the crank with a feeler gauge. I normally leave a gap 0.17 wen pulling one half off the crank through then when ya put ya other side on the crank isn't pulled to tight to one side it you get what I mean, sometimes ya can tap with a rubber mallet and the crank will move over so it frees up. If you used a puller put it on primary drive side a pulled the crank back over a touched when it's locked with flywheel and stator it's happened to me on a dtr wen I pulled the crank on one side all the way tight to the main bearing with no gap and it locked up when I putted cases together

      Is it the tube part? You need that in to keep the spring in the shaft, there will be a hole were the spring fits into the shaft then the plastic part slides over
