  • Fixing a slipping kickstart on a kx 80 dirt bike this is the same on nearly all old vintage dirt bike kickstart, all shafts have a spring if its still on and doing this stretch your spring for more tensions if you aren't buying a new one

    Damper ring and the half friction plate onto clutch hub first and not at end

    Thank you, this video was a lifesaver! Obtained a basket case recently and the kick start lever was sticking. After pulling it apart, it looks like it wasnt aligned and the collar was put on wrong. Sad to say I just had to order a mechanism on ebay because most of the mechanism was destroyed due to improper installation over a prolonged period of time. Shout out for your video!

    The best way to lock a clutch is to stick a penny in between the basket gear and the crank gear. You can't possibly fuck anything up because copper is softer than steel. Done it a million times

    • @2strokemxclassics
      @2strokemxclassics  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah but the middle of the clutch still spins when turning the bolt even it the primary drive cog and back of clutch basket has a penny in(the middle isn't locked) I always use pennys but u can't to slacken a inner clutch

    I have an ‘85 Kawasaki kaite80 and I drive it, something clicks. We already have taken apart the transmission and put it back on and it just started leaking oil. I’m thinking it might need a new clutch. Any idea on how to fix the problem?

      Is the clutch slack wen levers pulled in m8

    • @robmurdermile2426
      @robmurdermile2426 2 роки тому

      The clutch seems slack full stop mate seems like the clutch release rod isn't reaching the push plate thing u know the little bit that goes in the bearing last

    • @2strokemxclassics
      @2strokemxclassics  2 роки тому

      M8 the round part that the stopper fits in can fit in 2 ways one side is wider than the other wen fitted which would make the stopper miss the arm u could try that other that that it can be a washer missing

    • @2strokemxclassics
      @2strokemxclassics  2 роки тому

      Type this into Google 130911517 yal see how it can be fitted 2 ways I've a 88 rebuild engine on here which will show whick way it fits
