- Metal Gear Solid 5 is a game that has captured my attention in a way no game has for a very long time. It's a game that's so whacky and so absurd in the most hilarious way possible and I just had too tell you guys about it. In this video, I break down the gameplay, the overall experience and some of the more unexpected surprises this game has instore for those who seek them. It's a great game, and I hope you have a lot of fun with it!

This game is almost 10 year old and it’s still more technically advanced than any Ubisoft game released since then.

@Blballerboy gameplay wise Ubi doesn't even have the technology to surpass MGS 2.
All ubisoft game has the same mechanic and gameplay, they just reskinned the game and sell it again with graphic improvement

i remember getting this game on sale back as a 13 year old who had no interest in stealth action games or story driven games for the most part and ended up dropping it because my goldfish attention span found it quite boring. as a now adult man i find myself on the opposite end of that train of thought, not only did it get me invested in the MGS series and led me to playing all other 5 mainline games, i just cannot stop thinking about them and specifically MGSV even half a year after experiencing them for the first time, weakest in the series story wise for sure but no game/series in recent memory besides maybe cyberpunk and persona 5 has sucked me in with it’s world, atmosphere, music, era, characters, and gameplay. it all comes together and creates this perfect mix that has something to offer for almost everyone. god bless Hideo Kojjma for revitalizing my love and drive for video games that i had felt i was losing for a few years now, and for creating one of the greatest game series i’ve ever had the majesty of experiencing.
Hell yes! I played the rest of the series leading up to this one. I got it the day it came out and ended up missing 2 days of school to play the absolute heck out of it. I regret nothing. I love this series.
Crazy to think this Phantom Pain has been out almost a decade... Have not felt such hype and pure enjoyment from many games since.
The 3D MGS games are really fun, the details all over the place showed the love from the team for making games, Kojima and his team gave us the best games imo. Is great to see more love for this game, the sandbox gameloop is endless, there is always something silly, cool, brutal or just fun to do.
This game just never gets old haha

I love how as goofy as this game can be, at times it can get shockingly serious. There are several parts I have in mind but there is one mission in particular late in the game (you probably can guess which) where I had to take a break afterward and clear my head

@@Fyrdman Is MGSV incomplete just because the story isn't like previous MGS and a mission is missing? MGS4 was supposed to have a mission to escort Big Mama in act 3 "Third Sun", but it was cut. So MGS4 should also be called incomplete, right? "Missing chapters" is actually "a missing chapter" or rather "A mission", as Kojima Productions itself and Kenji Yano (Kojima's close friend and co-writer of Death Stranding) said that the removal of mission 51 was the that Kojima wanted and that the game's story was not affected.
The tapes containing the plot were Kojima's way of maintaining the usual complex lore without having to present them in very long cutscenes (remembering that Kojima emphasized the fact that MGSV was presented as a television series and not as a film). Finally, repeatable missions were also in Peace Walker with the Zadornov Search missions in which you needed to play extra ops to unlock them, but in MGSV you are not required to play them to advance in the story. All of this was officially stated by Kojima, people close to, Kojima Productions (including official accounts in communities) and Konami. If you want to believe them all, believe them. If not, continue to think it is incomplete. You are free Boss.
@@DarkWatcher149 MGSV has Eli flying off with guerrilla kids and your Zeta gear (or whatever it's called) and is never followed up on again. Your example is nowhere near comparable.
MGSV sucked, and licking Kojimas taint won't change that fact

In my opinion, this is the best stealth game. It will be a very long time I think before anything even touches it

Phantom pain is so underrated of a metal gear game. The gameplay was a masterpiece and story was fantastic in every way just not in the usual metal gear way.
Before Mgs 5 my favorite games were Far Cry 5 and Zelda Breath of the Wild.
Both give the player the freedom to do as they wish. Far Cry in stealth, and botw in combat (bombs, disarming the enemy, doing effective combos, giving a metal object so they can be struck by lighting, distracting them by throwing food and so on). Mgs 5 gives you the freedom to do both playstyles as you wish and I love it, it tales a serious story, but knows when to make you laugh, it has the same or even more amount of hidden details as Botw, which makes the gameplay intriguing every time. Just a masterpiece

Gameplay of this game is insane! Personally, I prefer MGS3 and peace walker for the narrative. But this game is insanity when you have so much customisation. I'm replaying MGS3 right now. But I'm thinking about downloading this again.
Im semi new to the franchise i played msg4 out off curiosity but my younger teenage self couldn't appreciate it im 31 now saw the trailer for msg 3 remake im like this looks amazing bought 5 at a discount holy hell the crazyness the gameplay the depth off mechanics the variety off weapons and tools its so good

this is my favorite stealth game gameplay wise i still play it whenever I want to play something fun, it's basically my comfort game , the optimization and the gameplay loop is really addicting, don't get me wrong game the game have it's fair share of problems and I do think 3 is way ahead in terms of story my favorite but I still love this game and the story
p.s- that talk of having insane and funny moments in this game is true, I remember about mine while playing this game I witnessed a perfectly timed glitch, a Russian soldier was spinning at a single place , I was listening to you spin around me , in game at that time lmao , btw good video man

Since MGSV came out I put over 1300 hours into the game. The gameplay does not get old.. ever.

Potentially, Definitely Snake Eater next year, but I'm gonna hold fire and focus on other games for now.
The story of this game only hits you and becomes meaningful if you have played and connected with the story of the previous games. The delivery of the story of MGS V isn't as good as the previous MGS games but the story itself is absolutely phenomenal.

Objectively it was a good game. To me as a diehard fan, it just felt "empty" maybe that was by design. I will say it did have very fluid movement and I love the weapon customization. Maybe Kojima knew his days were numbered and wanted MGS5 to be left on a sad note? Great video!
I had around 800 h in this game on PS4. Main game and fob . Didn't touch mgo. It was so fun to attack and defend fob and help others defend attacks. Sadly i lost account because if i didn't i believe i would continue on ps5

You can stealth with a tank. It doesn't matter if you shoot or not, you can, you'd just have to _some_ knowledge about the stealth.
I dont mean this in a mean way, but my favourite genre of youbtube content , is watching people discuss MGS with zero context, because if you havnt grown up playing the series. Most of is absolutely bat shit crazy 😂😂😂

This game is so fun and whacky. You can do the most ridiculous things and somehow it doesn’t break immersion lmao any other game I’d be like “really?…”, but this series has so much over the top shit that’s still believable in terms of the universe, it’s just like “yeah, makes sense” lol I like how the game adapts to YOU too. No matter how good you are, the game will always try to find ways to counter and hinder you.
MGSV is a game I suck absolute balls at, and yet it's my number one favourite game of all time. I don't know why. Probably everything you listed.
I got the platinum on this one, it was no joke, took me like 2 months, and I did what Kojima never GOT TO which is FINISH IT!!!!!...
I recently just reinstalled this game and am having a blast with it. Never finished it so I'm going back to fix that mistake. This game truly is awesome!

Yup. I've been replaying it for the past few weeks also! Getting excited about snake eater... It's impressive how great mgsv is. But not surprising. We have gotten used to disappointment. Woke bullshit, micro transactions, and multiplayer only games are a few things making games fail at being fun. This game is fun for so many reasons. But I appreciate it now more than I did when it came out. Ok development complete. Peace!

I hate this game despite loving MGS1,2,3 and 4.
If you want to get a more realistic gameplay, you should try to play offline without indicators, reflexes, bazookas that have more than one rocket and pistols with ultra suppressor

Love you because you said that whoever designed the bossfight with skulls at the airport deserve to be fired. The only mixed feeling I have about this game are the Bossfight. this is a 9/10 without them and a 7/10 because of them.
I was looking for alternatives to Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint, and found this game pretty similar even if a bit too weird and Japanese.
The Skulls are probably the only boss in the game I really don't like. All the others are so much fun, especially the final boss against Sally.
Of course it was Kojima who designed it.
Maybe it would be differente if he finished making the game, but it's his fault.😂

I am fan of snake, but couldn't complete whole game. Just got bored with repeated mission's. The game is really huge. I mean to get to end it requires like 2 to 3 months if you play for 4 hrs daily. And I completed Skyrim, Fallout within a month obviously with help of mods.

The original first 4 metal gear solid games (MGS solid 1, 2, 3, and 4) are better than ground zero/ phantom pain again... Many people don't like MGS 5 for reasons.

@@user-John1 after the gameplay of Metal Gear Solid V, I lost the ability to play any Metal Gear Solid game before 4. That only happened after the Phantom pain. Whenever I play metal gear, I either play four, the HD version of peace walker, and the Phantom pain. If I get nostalgic for the old metal gear games, I just watch UA-cam videos that contain their cutscenes.
