In case you're scared of taking finasteride, I'd recommend seeing an endocrinologist and getting your Testosterone, DHT, Oestrogen as well as SHBG checked before starting treatment, this will more than likely save you a lot of pain further down the line. You should be aiming for high free Testosterone as well as relatively low Oestrogen. Good way to get there is to maintain a body fat percentage around 12-15%, eat a diet high in saturated fats (e.g. Cheese, red meat or meat in general, these are generally considered "unhealthy fats" but are paramount for testosterone optimization), working out regularly does help a lot as well, supplementation with boron might be worth considering, since it increases free testosterone amount and function, while only slightly increasing DHT. Also if you've been experiencing things such as gynecomastia during puberty, this might be a first red flag. Ideally, you'd want to ask close relatives if they've ever taken any treatment for either hair loss or benign prostatic hyperplasia and really ask thoroughly about any potential side effects they've been experiencing while on said treatments. If at that point you're still scared of finasteride, I'd recommend testing the waters with a mild 5α-Reductase inhibitor such as Reishi Mushroom, Lion's Mane Mushroom, Saw Palmetto Extract or even oral Pumpkin Seed Oil Extract. If while on any of these 5α-Reductase inhibitors (most of which being natural and really mild) you find yourself experiencing any side effects, then most likely oral finasteride is not for you and you'd be better off using a topical anti-androgen such as Fluridil (sold under the brand name Eucapil) or RU58841 (experimental, has been dropped in clinical research, people have been using it for AGA for many years now with good efficacy in many cases) There will always be people discouraging the use of such treatments because of adverse side effects, they however make up only a small yet vocal amount of users (roughly 2-3% in the case of finasteride). While I do think that PFS (Post Finasteride Syndrome) is a real thing for some people who are sensitive to 5α-Reductase inhibition, if you've made sure your bloodwork and hormone levels are in the normal range, you've thoroughly checked your family history concerning any sort of 5α-Reductase inhibition and most of all if you're of a sound and sane psychological as well as neurological constitution, you should be good to go. It is important to state that most adverse side effects will usually go away after discontinuation of the treatment, for the vast majority of people these side effects are only temporary and reversible. While some people utter genuine concern about the potential side effects of 5α-Reductase inhibition, you'll also always find people fear-mongering, especially on reddit and in various hair loss forums, so I'd suggest checking all of the above criteria (hormones, bloodwork, making dietary and lifestyle changes, family history with 5α-Reductase inhibition), starting with a mild, natural 5α-Reductase inhibitor before then moving on to a small dose of finasteride (0.10mg a day is the smallest effective dose to my knowledge, that would mean buying the 1mg finasteride tablets, quartering them and taking roughly 0.25mg every other day, research suggest that most people can get good enough efficacy staying on 0.5mg a day, you can always up the dosage, if at that point you're still side effect free, until you reach 1mg a day for maximum efficacy). If you find that the treatment works for you (which it does for most people without or with negligible adverse side effects), I'd suggest just taking the pill, doing whatever routine you find works best for you and staying off any and all forums, websites, channels discussing these issues, as these will be sure to increase stress and anxiety. Doubting the effectiveness of a treatment can funnily enough lead to a decrease in effectiveness, much like how obsessing over potential side effects can actually cause said side effects. Hope this helps anyone reading this. Most people successfully using finasteride usually don't post on forums, they just quietly take their meds and reap the fruits of their labour while living their lives.
Thank you for this comment. I appreciate the thought, effort, and care you put into it. I have a few questions, why would checking those hormones help before starting finasteride? I had gynecomastia from puberty and I had surgery when I was 26 (32 now). I asked my surgeon if taking finasteride would cause recurrence and he said that while the chances for me are low since I had surgery, it isn’t 100%. This makes me still afraid of trying finasteride. It was absolutely horrifying having breasts and gynecomastia surgery was life changing for me. I’m sadly losing my once thick and lucious head of hair and I don’t know what to do. I’m scared of starting minoxidil too because of the shed. No one yet can really tell I guess that my hair is thinning and I’m scared that starting minoxidil will actually leave me bald. But back to the hormones, is there any indication after checking that would suggest gynecomastia happening? The sexual side effects are concerning too but I take cialis already regularly anyway… would I even notice ED?

This is the best reply I have seen about using hair restoration therapies and I like how you ended it -- don't doubt just live and let the results happen.
@user-wd9my6tg5f I would recommend getting a prescription for 1mg finasteride as well. It works really well with oral minoxidil. It significantly stopped the hair loss for me after I started taking. Check with ur doctor first. It's around $15 for 3 months too with Good Rx.
i was already depressed before finasteride i was like "what's there to lose" the result was, i barely recovered hair within 3 years but finasteride stopped further loss and uhh, it literally stopped my anxiety attacks and i no longer reach panicking point due to lower anxiety?? what a welcome side effect. that just show how different each person reaponds to medications as alot of people have experienced depression and erection issues, i just started to feel better in many ways instead of worse 😅😅 i did notice a tiny bit of softness in the chest area. so im thinking my estrogen might have increased a little but i didn't test that.
Remember you likely don't need the 1mg dose, look at more plates more dates he has plenty videos on the minimum effect dose. It's like .2mg. Also youre supposed to cycle off it every 3 months
I’ve been doing finasteride and minoxidil for 3 months. The thinning at mid-scalp is already substantially gone, replaced by new hair growth. But, the crown remains bald. 😒
3 month and mid scalp is substantially growing hair? that's like my result on 2 year not 3. i was hoping for better but if you gained that much hair your crown will probably be full in 1 year or less. do scalp massages if you can too
Yeah finasteride gave me horrible sides, and it wasn’t placebo. I got retrograde ejaculation, Gyno, anxiety, and low extremely energy by taking it for a month. Once I stopped taking it all of that went away.
bro Im about to fucking cry fr dawg wtf! I’ve never been attractive my whole entire life except for now, Going to the gym, I have a thick eyebrows n everything but now I’m thinning Wtf ! FUCK THIS WORLD
#1 cause of hair loss is excessive stress.. stress causes awful imbalance in our bodies. The reason the top of our crown goes bald is because of a tightened scalp due to excessive stress.. the reason the sides and back of the head don't go bald mostly is because it does not tighten up as much in these areas allowing great blood flow, etc.
I also used to see some baldness, it wouldn’t appear unless my hair was wet, i went to doctor. He said it’s genetics from your father and your mother side my uncles, gave me three solutions, This one right there, Rogaine and Finestride as well and also plasma treatment, injecting it into my scalp
Correction: Micro needling isn't so that minoxidil is better absorbed into the scalp. You shouldn't do micro needling after you put on minoxidil on the scalp. Micro needling is to stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles. So please do these 2 separately.
Actually take back what i said. Even though he is selling his own formula, everything he says in the video is 100% legit. @utrekz your forehead yes but not your hands lol
The side effects from Finasteride occur because finasteride is blocking DHT. So the same side effects will occur whether you block your DHT with “natural ingredients” or not. Therefore your product, “growplex” will produce the same side effects. It is not the ingredients in finasteride that are the issue. The issue is messing with ones DHT levels. That’s what causes the side effects.
Well, at least his product is a topical blocker. So theoretically it shouldn't seep into the system as much as a pill. Though I take your larger point that basically any "natural" solution that works will have the same drawbacks as the pharmaceutical version.
I actually just stumbled across your video by accident from looking at hair cutting videos. I started losing my hair back in 2013/2014 after I had been down sick with my second brain infection ( Toxoplasmosis) I originally had a thick head of hair, but as I was recovering, my hair was coming out in greasy clumps, so I shaved it all off , & when it finally did start to regrow my hair was very coarse & wavy so it took awhile for my hair to feel like my hair did again. The only problem is that the crown area didn't fully come back in. it came in fine like baby hairs that wouldn't get any thicker, so I unfortunately learned to live with it because I couldn't afford at the time to invest in treatments, but now after seeing your video, I'm going to try Rogaine to see if it could possibly help me out, so Thank you for this video, & even though I really wasn't looking for it I really actually needed it because I need to feel like me again & at the age of 57 years old now I've been struggling to look like my younger self, & this would bring back a lot of my self confidence, & yes, my profile pic is a current one of me. 💯
@agaragar21 Actually, it's more common than you think. At the moment, it's basically in remission, but I have to keep it monitored by my specialist so it doesn't sneak up on me again. My life changed so dramatically since 20003, I unfortunately now deal with severe Vertigo which makes it almost impossible for me to work on my car anymore or actually just look up underneath a cabinet or even my couch without it hitting me hard.I give sick to my stomach & feel like I dont know the difference between up & down. I have to go to bed & lay on my back with my head tilted in a certain way. The room has to be black, but I can't close my eyes, & it can take about a day or two to go away, but I've learned to live with it since 20003 & I know that it will never go away so I make the best of my life & not let it get me down & out. 💯
I just came across this. And I am suffering. I am so lonely. I am so embarrassed. Being a 63 yr woman. I am just not well. I thank everyone for your stories. Maybe I won't feel so alone and helpless. But I had a pharmacist tell me to have you're doctor check you for , heavy metals. Parasites ew. But I said check me to see if I had COVID at sometime. She did and I never knew. I'm one of those A systematic. I was shocked, because I felt a relief because this is a side effect from covid is hair loss. I only knew because I went to my hairstylist to touch up from my color she had put on 2 months before. Was showing the gray strip. And she said do you know that you have a quarter size patch of hair gone. I was in shock. No I didn't, within a week it grew to egg size and immediately went to dermatologist and started shots . She checked me with a biopsy. And it was alopecia areata. So that explains the hair loss I have now started rogaine. And now have 2in mostly gray hair, like the doctor said would be. And there is some dark as my hair. Soni am hoping that this is the reason and it will be OK. TO everyone please take care. And thanks for this ability to tell my story. Please pray. I have been so down. Because I have been able to eat for a long time. And now caused malnutrition. And thar caused a type of neuropathy. So please take care
Remember that Minoxidil is for life. If you stop, you will lose your hair. You will keep your beard if you have a minoxidil beard. Dustaride is more potent than finasteride. Depending on your hairloss, you can take from 0.5mg every other day, or every day.
It’s funny you said you thought you just got a bad haircut, because I thought the exact same thing when someone first noticed my thinning crown lol. I’m still pretty early on my journey, I appreciate your content and advice
Minoxidil does NOT solve the problem (if the problem is DHT) , it just improve quality to the hairs that already is working (fixing the symptoms not the cause)
My hair line was never fully connected which made me insecure… I tried all methods to heal it but nothing worked. I was thinking about donig the hair transplant surgery to hide my insecurity. I contacted a doctor in turkey to do it made an appointment eve
Do you think there is a difference in Kirkland brand minoxidil and name brand rogaine? I have not noticed a difference with the Kirkland brand obviously it’s cheaper that’s why I chose it.
You should go see a dermatologist. I think thats the right first step for you. Your hair loss might be related to something else, only a doctor can say.
Minoxidil has good results, but you can't stop or you shed brutally. Minoxidil is the worst choice as far as hair growth. I started a shedding phase that scared me to discontinue use because I was not aware of the shedding before I started Minoxidil. That was the worst decision I've made in my hair loss journey. I decided not to be dependent on chemicals and trust me. Now I use a derma pen with rosemary mixed with coconut oil bi-daily, and it's been the most effective thus far.
The shedding phase did a round on me as well. Permanent use or don't get on this stuff is highly advised. I'll try your suggestion as my balding is the worst it's ever been. Would you buy the product he suggested?
@J J I check the ingredients and there's various chemical compounds. I wouldn't because I prefer using natural remedies. Bare in mind I also don't take pain medication or over the counter cold and flu medicine that's not all natural. Just my opinion.
I had hair loss problems, i always had strong and long hair. After some time i started seeing more hair on my bed and on my hair brush i taught it was all because of the stress i was having a the time. But my hair just started thinning and falling of my h
1 part rosemary to 3 parts coconut oil bi- daily has been better for me than minoxidil. I had to stop minox because the shedding was unbearable for me. My best results are with rosemary and microneedling.
@Decay No more minoxidil use. The rosemary blend has regrown the hair but not to the extent of the lossage as of yet. I lost 2inches of new growth to the scalp during the minox shedding phase. The dermapen is stimulating growth in the areas I had trouble with before minoxidil.
@@bigmemphismook9019 How often do you micro needle? what size needle? Do you needle the entire head or just bad spots? How many times do you row? 3 directions ?
It works for my androgenic alopecia, but I'm female. I don't have it that severe. I suggest adding microneedling too. Unfortunately females can't use Finasteride.
Your reasoning for advertising growplex makes no sense, on one hand you say fin causes all these side effects because of the blocked DHT but on the other hand the product ure adverting has the exact same effect, its also a DHT blocker so it should naturally have the same side effects as finasteride
My understanding of finasteride is that the side effects happen only when you stop taking it. Perhaps you have not experienced the side effects yourself if you are continuing to use it. I would not recommend anyone taking minoxidil and especially finasteride without serious consideration first. I have heard of people suffering from depression and having suicidal thoughts when coming off finasteride. Also, it is recommended to not be on finasteride if you are trying to have a child. This is important information that I think you should have covered in your video.
Minoxidil helps stimulate additional growth to the scalp which won't affect your transplanted hairs. For maximum density and results, I'd recommend keeping up with it.
Serous question , do you ever have a strong errect? I know you have said you have had it for 4 /5 years . But i mean have may get a errection. Is it strong though ?

All of a sudden i can see right into my scalp. I dont even want to believe alive it hurts a lot feeling like i have this curse like im not allowed to have hair. Finasteride was horrible it did help I guess to cut off some hair loss but was in hell for like 2 weeks after stopping cause of a bad reaction. I'm thinking about prp but idk. Currently on monoxidill see what happens
Yes started Fin over 15 years ago it really messed me up. ejaculate was reduced to a dribble. Have been off it for many years now and finally improved. Hair is nearly gone though so thinking about Minoxidil now that price is no longer 100 per month
Finsateride definitely gave me sexual side effects, I derma roll fortnightly, topical 5% minox twice per day (mixed with 5mg RU5448 per 1ml), and oral minox (1.5 mg) every second night before bed.
Try to grind down the pills and dilute them in minoxidil. I use 10mg of fin in 100ml of minoxidil. I spray 1ml a day. Then im getting only a 10th of what you are using in my body.

That’s why I don’t use it. Even a 2% risk is way to high. It means that 1 in 50 guys suffer from this side effect. That’s still not very high but to high to take this risk for me personally, especially at my age.

@user-wd9my6tg5f I would recommend getting a prescription for 1mg finasteride as well. It works really well with oral minoxidil. It significantly stopped the hair loss for me after I started taking. Check with ur doctor first. It's around $15 for 3 months too with Good Rx.
Once again, how do you get it in the US? Do to have to get a prescription from a doctor what?

i did notice a tiny bit of softness in the chest area. so im thinking my estrogen might have increased a little but i didn't test that.

How is it going till now
Rosemary oil or peppermint oil in a base oil are both superior to Regaine without any side effects.
Was in rosemary for 2 years. it really didn't do anything for me.
@@qwertyjeffers were you using the right strength and mix? See: Hairguard ‘Rosemary oil for growth.’

Correction: Micro needling isn't so that minoxidil is better absorbed into the scalp. You shouldn't do micro needling after you put on minoxidil on the scalp. Micro needling is to stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles. So please do these 2 separately.
Side effects of finestride is no placebo my friend.

The only problem is that the crown area didn't fully come back in. it came in fine like baby hairs that wouldn't get any thicker, so I unfortunately learned to live with it because I couldn't afford at the time to invest in treatments, but now after seeing your video, I'm going to try Rogaine to see if it could possibly help me out, so Thank you for this video,
& even though I really wasn't looking for it I really actually needed it because I need to feel like me again & at the age of 57 years old now I've been struggling to look like my younger self, & this would bring back a lot of my self confidence, & yes, my profile pic is a current one of me. 💯
update?
So, a toxo infection is Pretty Brutal....wasn't aware anybody still got this........are you OK now?
So that explains the hair loss
I have now started rogaine. And now have 2in mostly gray hair, like the doctor said would be. And there is some dark as my hair. Soni am hoping that this is the reason and it will be OK. Hello! Which Clinic is best in Turkey?? I mean from your experience Which clinic is best??
Am 15 and been losing my hair for about a year and it looks bad all over my head you can see my scalp all over
You should go see a dermatologist. I think thats the right first step for you. Your hair loss might be related to something else, only a doctor can say.
Min 2.5mg and 1mg Fin to retain crown. Helpful.
retain or grow back? especially if it isnt bald yet just thin?

@Decay No more minoxidil use. The rosemary blend has regrown the hair but not to the extent of the lossage as of yet. I lost 2inches of new growth to the scalp during the minox shedding phase. The dermapen is stimulating growth in the areas I had trouble with before minoxidil.

If you guys don’t have the money and the resources to try all of these things just shave it and move on with your life
