I've been using minoxidil/ derma roller for 11 months now. It improved my hairline the most when I paired the minoxidil with a dermaroller. I was also able to grow a handsomely full beard after struggling with that for 10 years. I finally look my age and haven't been carded since. (Had a baby face)

Applying natural oils during scalp massages actually works in hair fall control. Oils such as coconut, onion, as well as rosemary can be particularly good. I combine a few drops of rosemary oil to my liitlexttra cocoonionn shampoo & natural hair oil, which this really helped in getting good hair growth.

Earlier, my hair used to fall when combing post-application of oil. However, since using this liitlllextra cooconnion hair oil, I see reduced hair on my comb. Now I see lesser hair fall after shampooing. I’m hopeful for anticipating positive results in about a month. Since around 60% of my hair fall has been controlled.

I am a woman who began Minoxidil about 4 years ago. I am aging and my hair started to shed more frequently and I was able to see my scalp through my hair. When I began treatment I started with the woman's formula once a day, and didn't want to go to twice a day until I knew how I reacted to it. Well, I did so well on once a day that I just stayed there and have continued to fill out the thickness of my hair considerably. It was great to hear you agree that once a day is enough. Recently I decided to try the men's version once a day and I am not having any problems with that. My scalp seems quite thick (for me) but the bonus is that I have regrown my thinned out eyebrows (I did not apply it on my eyebrows), and surprisingly it has grown back without any grey! I normally have a few grey eyebrow hairs. The only negative is that they hairs are growing in at varying directions, so it takes frequent grooming to keep them in line. I would say that the minoxidil has restored my hair quantity back to when I was a teenager. What it has not done is make my individual hairs thicker, so the overall look is not as abundant as my teenage years, but no complaints at all from me. I just might go back to the women's formula because I don't want to take anymore than needed.
As an aside, in the beginning I had some trouble with the scalp irritation and a greasy build up. I thought I was going to have to quit using it. I stopped it for a week or so but thought to try using the very famous brand of dandruff shampoo we have all seen for years. Ever since I did that I have stopped the irritation and build up and I began tolerating the Minoxodil just as before. I don't even use the dandruff shampoo every time, it is more like every 2-3 times I shampoo. Hope this info helps others!

Generally if it’s COMPLETELY bald and you have no hairs even if very fine hair, you can’t really bring back dead zones. You’re best bet would be microneedling once a week in conjunction with minoxidil. This apparently is very good for “dead zones” but you still need some hair even if it’s barely visible. Lot of good points here, in my case I was a hyper responder both in hair growth and side effects. I had crazy scalp hair growth within 6-7 months however the heart palpitations and chest pain were really severe, especially when laying down trying to fall asleep, I'm fit and healthy with normal normal/low BP. Never had anything like that before and after stopping it took about a year for those symptoms to go away completely. Even went for a holter monitor and echo cardiogram, in the midst of it, all normal. I was using 1 dose of foam at night only, so half the recommended amount and I still had that kind of reaction. Now I'm just on topical finasteride with no issues, but man I miss the results from the minoxidil. Finasteride just has me holding ground not regrowing.

Minoxidil is a vasodilator. This means it's gonna lower your blood pressure esp if taken orally. Hence your palpitations since your heart is compensating by increasing the heart rate, and the fact that you are normal to low bp to begin with. It's the same concept that you shouldnt take viagra if you have low bp in the first place.

Just want to ask incase I missed it, so you mention to work up the oral minoxodil slowly overtime. How much would you work it up to assuming no side effects? What's the end "goal" in mg would you recommend?
I unfortunately am a non-responder to topical minoxodil (tried liquid and foam version, on top of combining it with microneedling at a depth of 1 - 1.5mm). I've used it consecutively for over a year now in combination with Finasteride 1mg tablet daily. My hair loss has completely stopped, but I think I'd attribute that to Finasteride. I'm still using Minoxodil just for the sake of using it, even though I don't think I've necessairly seen much results. I was considering switching to Oral minoxodil and seeing if it helps.

I'm pretty sure minoxidil caused it for me, I've seen a few other users on other hairloss videos mention this about minoxidil.
One even went as far to quit his finasteride for months, still had insomnia, then one night he took 3 drops of topical minoxidil and couldn't sleep all night.
I'm just on topical finasteride right now and have no sleeping problems. I want to add minoxidil back but don't wanna have sleeping problems again. I'm not sure, I haven't seen any videos dive into this but in the oral version it's a side effect so I'm sure minoxidil could be the culprit.

I had been using topical minoxidil (Rogaine) for almost 15 years. It worked for me, but the formula made my hair brittle, and I always had a lot of breakage and split ends. I think it was the alcohol. I have long, very fine, very thin hair. I do not color or perm my hair, so the only possible culprit was the Rogaine. I tried both the liquid and the foam. I never had a problem with skin/scalp irritation. My two main complaints were that it made my hair look greasy, so I could only use the Rogaine at night (and wash it in the morning), and while I had more hair volume, the hair was damaged. It was also an annoying routine - having to apply and wait for it to dry before going to sleep.
A few months ago I started to use oral minoxidil and oral spironolactone (via prescription from my dermatologist). I did not get massive shedding - on the contrary, my hair actually stopped shedding! It has made a massive difference! I have been shedding a lot since my 20s. I thought it was normal. Sometimes, I would get handfuls a day. I attributed all that hair to the fact that it's long, so a few strands would seem like more. Now, I realize I was losing so much every day. I continued to lose hair even while taking the topical Rogaine, but it was not as much as before. I don't know if it's the oral minoxidil or the spironolactone that stopped my shedding, but I'm thrilled. An added bonus is that I no longer have to spend so much money on Rogaine. Now, I spend that money on bond repair for my hair. I use K18, and it works, too.
If I had known about oral minoxidil before, I would have switched years ago.

I started to see the positive effects already in first 3 months of use by 2 years I'm more than happy with the results.. My problem is applying 1ml twice a day is making my hair always look greasy. I've been looking to find out if I can cut one dose off and continue with only 1ml / 24h but entire internet says it is not recommended because scalp requires it once every 12h. Is that true or it's part of the marketing strategy to make people use and buy more often? :)

If you "level out" as it were, and don't see more hair returning - can you cut down on the liquid top application to a "care and maintenance" level and keep to - I don't know - 3 times a week maybe? And still keep the hair you have regenerated? And finally: the product I have recommends to cease the use of the product after 60 years of age. Why is this? Weirdly I’ve had far fewer issues with finasteride than with minoxidil. If anything, finasteride improved my mood, maybe because the reduction in my levels of such a powerful androgen gave me a bit more clarity and sort of took the edge off.
Minoxidil actually messed me up much more, I had headaches, palpitations, anxiety, etc. It should be noted that I have a history of palpitations and anxiety anyway, but I hardly ever get headaches, and the the anxiety was particularly bad with the minoxidil. I’m lucky that my hair-loss isn’t that bad, and I’m comfortable just slowing it down/stopping it worsening for now.
I don’t want this to be interpreted as fear mongering or anything. Minoxidil is just a medication like any other, and people should feel comfortable trying it out and seeing how they feel. It’s highly highly unlikely that side effects will persist after stopping with minoxidil.

      From topical minoxidil or finasteride?
It makes intuitive sense that you could get headaches with minoxidil since it’s a vasodilator after all, but I have absolutely no idea by what mechanism fin could induce headaches, not that it’s impossible or anything, it’s just that I can’t think of how it would do that. It’s worth keeping in mind that the headaches could be caused by stresses surrounding the medication.
With finasteride, nocebo related side effects are far more common than direct side effects, and most of the direct side effects seem to either get better with continued use or through dose titration. Unfortunately, I don’t know quite as much about minoxidil since I don’t use it any more, but I’d definitely suggested bringing this concern up with a doctor if at all possible.
Good luck with your hair! :)
