Blusher! A small amount of blusher in your correct color palette can make a lot of difference.

@@blktauna fine if you do, I don’t care what you do personally. For others it’s no good if the suggested colour makes a person look terrible, old, wrinkly, discoloured. It’s plain stupid to say wear bright to brighten the look when such is unflattering.
I live in Canada where there is lots of snow, ice and wind chills. I dress according to the weather forecast. I wear what makes me look and feel amazing. I don't follow style "rules and trends" I only shop local and support women owned businesses.

Agreed. No to cottonas when it gets moist, it will stick to your skin & make you cool-- indeed it can lower your core body temp, so not a good idea for very cold or snowy places. Perhaps instead of a cotton shell under a long sleeve thermal, either a wool, or a moisture wicking sleeveless shell base layer (Cuddle Duds & other brands sell these) could be worn.
Silk is a good wicking fabric, and surprisingly reasonable. When my son went on Outward Bound, they had to take lots of layers of wicking , and they wore the silk under wool
@mmcs4973 I agree. I've worn silk shell tops & silk long johns & enjoyed them as well. Just be cautious if the temps are frigid & you'll be spending a lot of time outside, & or sweating excessively & heavily.
@@mariabarnes9197 people who live in cold countries know that! We have our own little “experiences” to relie on.. the snow is coming todag, and we knew in advance to get all wool clothes out for our layers of clothes , never cotton on the body but wool wich Can transport sweat and keep us warm
I’m so happy to hear you endorse injecting some color into winter outfits. I understand that neutrals are versatile but I need a dose of color during those drab and cold winter days.
Tights under trousers is something I always do in Autumn and winter. Blazers under a coat doesn't work for me, because I don't own any oversized coat, and if I would, I would look big. And I always want to let my slim figure show, even in winter😊. But if you can wear blazers outside with a coat over it, it's a great idea. Sometimes if I go to a place where it's not too cold like a shopping mall, I just take my blazer with me and change the coat for it when I arrive there. Thanks a lot Gemma for your great ideas! ❤
I get the little knit gloves which are available literally everywhere, usually for $2 (Can), and come in tons of colours. They last a season and add a great punch of fun colour, which I can usually co-ordinate to a thrift store scarf! It doesn't have to be pricey :)
The video you did a couple years ago, the English country style, is my absolute favorite. I am in Texas so with the proper base layer, LL Bean's 250, I can wear that style all winter. Then I tweak it for the spring. I love using a scarf and gloves as a pop of color.
Your the first person I find that mentions gloves they are so overlooked as a key accessory. I add and delete from my glove collection every year.
I layer with silk camisoles: either crew neck, long sleeve or v neck sleeveless. They are thin, light and very warm. They wash beautifully and last for years. In the US LLBean and Land’s End carry them all winter long. Their turtle neck ones wear well under crew neck jumpers.

Love the pop of color. A few years ago I got an amazing cobalt blue ostrich leather handbag. I’m on the hunt for a matching scarf after watching your video. I love the idea of the gloves, scarf and bag in the same blue with my camel coat or even with my ranch mink long coat. The bag is a top handle which works best during the winter. Shoulder straps or cross bodies just seem to slide around too much over a bulky coat.
Make sure you don't wear a shoulder- or crossbody bag with fur !
The strap will tear on the fur hairs...
I've bought scoop neck silk underlayers for winter. These are a game-changer! Silk retains heat but is super-thin so that you don't need as many thicker layers. Now, my more stylish coats fit better over my clothes and I'm still warm.
Are you in the U.S.? Where did you find your silk?
. LL Bean has silk long underwear. Order your true size. I got some in large but medium would have fit great!( I generally wear medium in most things)

Awesome Gemma! Woke up to the first dusting of snow ❄️ I wear a pant slip,it slips against the wool fabrics and gives me a layer of warmth. I found this weekend a lovely black fedora hat with built in ear flaps for those nasty cold windy days. Remember cheerful scarfs make any outfit or coats look great.

I live in Canada too - and I find that a good quality down coat or Kanuk coat can be made fashionable with a beautiful scarf, boots (which can be waterproofed), gloves, and hat or fur (or faux fur) trimmed hood. Not all down coats make you look like the Michelin man - there are some that have high quality down and are not bulky. This is a misconception from people who don’t live in cold climates and who are unfamiliar with coat selections in these climates.
Sorry to disagree with you on this topic 😊 Michelin man does exist on some garments 😊 I think you are being a little over sensitive 😊 warm up a little dearest 😂😂
What's great about these platforms is that we can agree to disagree! Of course there are excessively puffy coats, but not all of them are and one can still look good and stay warm - and I"m sufficiently warm with my coat! @@patriciaoreilly8907

Tights or pants slips or long johns/ moisture & temperature regulating thermals are helpful to looking chic (not bulky) & feeling comfortable as well.
Tights that are faux leather are great because you slacks/jeans glide over them and the tights keep warmth in.

Living in Phoenix our winter is really non existent but we have some cool weather in December and January so I wear lightweight winter clothes and booties.
I love how Michelin man is a reference for bulkines worldwide😂. I live in Mexico City, so our winter its some country's spring, eventhough for us its cold and there's a lot of Michelin man's around.

The only issue with some of those gift boxes is that you cannot ensure you only get cruelty free brands.
If it is made in China it is not cruelty free and almost everything is either made in China or has the Chinese associated with it in some shape or form they are the one with money
