In this video you will learn 5 very common mistakes we usually do during winter which ruin our looks. Each of these mistakes can easily be fixed if you don't neglect the proportions in your outfit , if you choose the right size and the length of your coat, if you pay attention to the size of your bag and if you accessorise with stylish winter accessories like scarves, gloves, hats, belts, sunglasses and socks. Stay warm and stylish in winter!
I had to buy new winter coats this autumn, all of mine, but one, were enormous, even with the looser fits now in style. I lost weight over the last five years, or so, because of aging, I suppose, mostly. The only coat I kept is my beautiful Dior burgundy one, which I bought 40 years ago, when I was the same size as now. I wore that coat every cold day during my whole career and it still looks brand-new, I wear it still.
Oh. Great ! Burgundy colour is so on trend!
Oh, how wonderful to still have your beautiful Dior coat!
Lovely !!
When you buy quality, it lasts
My career mother always looked for a large handbag to tote her shoes in during winter months because snow boots could never be worn all day in the 60s and 70s. They were very hard to find that didn’t look like a shopping bag. I think what she carried was almost considered an overnight bag in those days.
Wonderful pictures which make your ideas very easy to follow.
I agree with all of them and love these tips as it helps so much. I have narrow hips so the coats that end right at the hips are perfect to me 😅
Outstanding, thank you Ella❤
Thanks for this fabulous video! My best habit now is to look in a full-length mirror before leaving the house, wearing my outfit, and coat, and bag. The total look. Your suggestions have helped me assess my winter look.
Perfect! So happy for you 👌🏻
I love the very-long coats that are available now, even though I have to get them in petite so they don’t touch the ground. As a mostly skirt and dress wearer, the longer the coat is, the warmer I stay. I did get two long, fitted wool coats this autumn, I just couldn’t resist them. They are fine for daytime where I live, California, just over a dress or skirt outfit. We don’t need a lot of layers here, a sweater with a wool coat is usually fine, except for the mountain regions. I just haven’t been in the mood for puffer coats lately, probably I have enough already. I also like those more fitted, quilted jackets, for the English Country look, it’s casual, but classic. I only buy 100% wool or cashmere coats, or a wool-cashmere blend, with a breathable, usually rayon, lining (silk is the best, but hard to find). There’s nothing worse than being cold and sweaty in a polyester-lined coat. I really love Banana Republic coats, they meet my fabric requirements, are thoughtfully designed (they even have secure inside pockets for phones, wallets, etc.), beautiful quality, and fairly priced, at $400-500 US.
So those English fitted jackets you can easily wear under the usual wool coats, but the coat has to be a bit oversized, have some space. It will look just amazing , really warm and stylish.
Thank you for this very helpful video and for the great tips.🥰
Thank you. You are welcome
I’m glad a keep my puffy puffy coats when I lived in Chicago 🥶.😊. Thank you
Yes! It was a good idea 👍
Chicago is 🥶 COLD!!!!
Sorryy, wanting a defined waist cannot be dated. It's timeless and universal.
I just watched another channel, and a defined waist is back in. Big baggy is out.
Indeed, big and baggy is finally on the way out, and defined waist is back since a year or so…
Right, specially for short and curvy women, like me!
Well, then it’s time for me to go back on a diet to search for my waist
@@MsLouisVee 🤣All the best wishes, after a certain age I can testify, that this is quite a search… still ongoing here 🤣
Excellent advice, always learning something new and useful from you. Kind regards
That’s awesome. Thank you
Just found you in my feed. Excellent video. Thank you!
You are very knowledgeable and to the point, with excellent photo illustrations. Thank you!
Thank you Gail 👌🏻
I wear what makes me look and feel amazing. I don't follow social media, style "rules" and trends. I only shop local and support women owned businesses.
Respect your views
So why are you spending time of watching those type of videos? Those are for us, who need help with their style, because not everyone has the talent to be stylish the way they would like to be. So stop snob those videos. Some people needs them. If you don't need them, stop watching them!
@@stormgr190 I will watch what I want, when I want. If these videos help you, that's great. Please respect my viewpoint.
Excellent. I feel very happy finding you on UA-cam.
Love your style, Ella. ❤ Would you consider a video on how to style socks in winter, please? My climate is not too cold and short socks come handy but not sure how to make the look chic / stylish. Thanks.
Thank you dear Eva. It is an interesting subject. Actually I would, just may be closer to a new year. Busy times. Trust me 😁
Short socks cannot look chic/ stylish on any woman a) over 20, b) under 5'10", c) over 120lb, d) with thick ankles 😢
Good stuff 👍🏾❤
Fabulous, thank you for your styling tips. 👏💐
You are so welcome
This video is wonderful, so many spot on tips
Thank you 🤩
Very useful video. I am travelling in winter to Europe soon. So i need some tips how to mix and matchmy clothings
Great video!
Very pretty glasses, it suits you beautifully
Great video Ella. But omg, I cannot believe some of these comments. There are times that I think if you said the sky was blue, there will always be those few subscribers that would say its silver. They are applying everything you say to seriously. Of course, like you've said many times over. It does depend on your body type and also the piece of clothing you are discussing and styling. A cinched waist in a blazer might be in style and current right now. But it's not the best overall choice for a heavier winter coat. You want a loose fit so that your layers, sweaters (jumpers) and vests will fit under them. Remember this is just in general. If I could only have one winter coat, common sense eould tell me that a looser fitting coat eould be the best choice for so many different reasons. I do have several belted winter coats. But those are for creating a whole different look. Not what you were discussing here. I hope some of these subscribers can lighten up a little bit and realize your only giving us suggestions to help us. Your not trying to make anyone do anything they don't like or trying to get someone to wear something they are not comfortable in. We all know who the stylist is here and in my eyes she does a great job and is only here trying to help us all look even more beautiful then we all are already. Ty for everything you do Ella and Happy New year!
Wow Mary!!!! What a great comment! Thank you !!! This is normal on social media channels… but I’m sure people who really loves styling and creating different looks will invest into practical things and will get what I meant. Being stylish also means being open minded and trying to experiment! Lots of love and Happy New Year to you too !!!
I would love to know where your turquoise sweater is from, please. It’s a beautiful color, and I love a V-neck style.
Hi Ella,
Lots of good advice..
Thank you🎉
I personally don’t like the broad, oversized, Boxy looks!
For winter or Summer!
All Double Breasted Long or short coats, make one look bigger , if one is a Medium or large size.. . Up to European size 42..
It’s not easy to find Single breasted coats, they not suited for everyone’s body shape, including the oversized larger Fashion!
The very well dressed Ladies in Milan during this Winter do wear Puffer jackets., But mostly fur and Woollen coats In public.. and long jackets appear to BE very popular! 🎉
Very good styling tips, i love the comfort look, oversized coat , but i would look like a walking tomato because i barely reach 5' 😅 , still i manage to wear coat that is flattering to my size ❤
Yes. Agree. Long ones and very oversized is not for you. I would recommend something a bit below the knee. My daughter is petite too. She looks gorgeous in straight cut , tailored, below knee coats 🧥
Where did you buy the gorgeous aqua colored sweater? It looks like it may be cashmere ❤️
Thank you Ella! Great info! ❤❤❤ NEW SUBSCRIBER!!

Thanks ❤
Anytime!
Stay happy and healty. Thank you so much.⛄️😻
Thank you ! Same to you ! ♥️🙏🏻
It’s just not that cold on the west side 🤭
Thank you very much!👍🏻
Thank you ☺️
The lipstick color looks amazing on you! Wanted to know the shade
hi Amanda...if I am not mistaken it is Armani lipstick... i have a video about all my lipsticks on my instagram page! have a look.
Hi Ella. Great video!😊👍🏼 I love your style. ** New Subscriber ** here. 💕
Thank you ♥️welcome aboard!
Hi, Miss Linda. Ella is amazing.
@@marymansson2085 Hey Mary. Doesn't she have an amazing, " Sassy "😉 style!? I'm glad her channel came up.
I have a newly purchased coat that is half-tailored (tailored lapels and collar), but the rest is with slouch shoulders and a wrap waist. I am a heavy body type. What handbag do you suggest? The coat is black in color.
Hi Linda . Difficult to say without seeing you… send me pictures on Instagram ❤️
Great tips
Thanks 😊
Puffer jackets are not made for someone like me 5’1”. These jackets whether they are in style or not are not for every woman. Unless you are tall and very slim. To be honest they are not the jacket that I would take a second glance.
merci bien!
I've never heard that fitted puffers were out; why should it even be a thing? Our shapes should govern the style of coat we wear.
Try to choose something not too fitted. It will give you more styling options.
This video is very informative and helpful. Then @6:16 how should that lady style her outfit if not using that skirt? An pencil skirt or skinny jeans would work, you think?
Thanks for your comments! Yes at 6:16 , if I’m not mistaken, she is wearing a very voluminous skirt( tulle skirt) with an oversized bomber. In my opinion it can be cool and trendy if you’re in your 20’s and you are tall and skinny, it’s more like trendy street style. But my advice is based on more mature women’s body shape , if you know what I mean. So, of course it will be nicer to wear this puffy bomber with pants, jeans or a straight cut skirt to avoid creating extra volume in your bottom part and keep the balance between upper and lower parts . I would definitely keep my bottom simple and clean with this type of a jacket 🧥. Hope it helps !

👏
Puffer coats make everyone look frumpy
Only if they are old fashioned and very tight.
Unless they are taylored, e.g. a beautiful coat from Mackage. I have got. a lot of compliments for this coat in a 5 star hotel.
Disagree ♥️
Keep a seasonal variety of coats.
Danke
Welcome
Nice fashion comments!
That green sweater is a mistake, right? like the wrong size.......
Yes. Green oversized bomber and very loose pants will be to voluminous. Keep the volume just in one part of the body, top or bottom.
Good content, but I disagree with the puffer jackets and coats. I don't think they look good in any kind of way, maybe only if they are very thight. Otherwise everybody looks like wrapped up in his bed- duvet or like the michelin man😉 have never understood this trend which does nothing for femininity.
Замечательно-)
Should one remove the label on a scarf or not? Thanks.
If it is bothering you.. why not. I do sometimes
Not everyone is above 1,70 cm to wear oversize and not waist defined.. trends arent for everyone, i ll chose whatever works for me.. if i wear oversize or lose, not fitted, i look like i borrow from my father’s closet and it doesnt definitely look feminine… 🙃
Of course it’s very different from person to person. But very fitted coat will not allow u to use layers inside, which is more stylish
No way over sized coats is more elegant than the fitted ones
Slightly oversized .. that u can create layers.. not the baggy huge coat ‼️
I cannot wear wool because my skin is very sensitive to it and it makes me very itchy. What's a good alternative?
Hi Eileen, may be try to wear a 100%cotton top underneath, like from Uniqlo for example, or some other organic brands. And there are some organic cashmere and wool sweaters too in the market . May you should have a look at them . My favourite is Sezane organic wool
Thank you. I’ve tried that many times- the wool finds its way thru the layers or finds the places that don’t get completely covered, like my neck. Cashmere might be better, but way more than I want to spend on a coat. I appreciate the suggestion though
@@eileenmann9450 yes. May be organic cashmere will work. Or you should go for layering….
no way would I carry around a big bag in the winter - so I can put my little wallet, my keyfob and my phone in it? nope, very small crossbody year around and sometimes it's worn under my coat
It’s your personal choice.. my advice is for people who wants to look stylish
are u Italian? like your style
Ciao.. I’m not Italian, I’m Lithuanian but lived in Europe for a very long time
Puffy coat will serve me many years?! You kidding. Fashion changes every 2 years
«nothing new
Your bottom has to be clean 😂😂😂😂😂Hilarious 😂😂
Whilst you’re lecturing us how to dress, I would suggest your own cashmere sweater should be well fitted and not sloppy around the neck.
No one lecturing you here ! You are free to leave !
I absolutely love and admire all of your ideas and suggestions! I’m sorry I must say, however, that your red nails are both distracting and dated
The blue the lady is wearing combined with the red is not pretty looking...
