People dont realise that they were machines back in the day, these i grew up with, that and uno turbo's, r5 gt, cav gsi's, astra gte's, 19 16v's. Back when anything from 130-230bhp was plenty of power to have fun, driven hard on norfolk roads gave plenty of smiles, didnt need 5-600hp back then, miss seeing these motors, and that owner is so deserving of that series 2, what a genuine bloke
That’s mad considering I got my first car at 17 in 2007 it was a 2001 Saxo vtr cost me £4750 and cost me £4500 to insure. Prices of insurance have forever been fucking everyone wallet since 1985-1990 onwards it seems and my old man agrees.
@@StoneCold_ tell me about it. And another thing is 90’s to 2010 if you had 200-300bhp that was a stupidly fast car now 400bhp is seen as the norm for a lightly moded hot hatch.
What a flawless example! I was 14yrs old when this car first came. This was the ford iconic era the escort rs/cosworth/xr3i,RS2000, Sierra cosworth/RS500, xr4i 2.8L,fiesta xr2/rs. Astra gsi/sport.
You see with old skool cars like this it’s nothing to do with ragging it about it’s all about cruising, and just appreciating the coolness. Speaking as a nearly 40yr old man this is a dream car to see in the flesh…really rare. Top marks
This has gotta be one of the best ones yet. The owner is such a genuine, down to earth guy, even giving Ricky and Joe thanks for their time. Showing appreciation for the time and effort you also sacrifice in what you do, really does make the world of difference. He is right though, you've came so so far and you've really achieved something here Ricky. 👍
Respect deserved to the guy who built it and Omar for keeping it original 👌 Ricky let's see a Sierra Rs500 if possible?! Its nice to see these 80's car!
Amazing example this is what I grew up on still looks modern now to me! The 80s-90s sports versions of everyday runarounds are all classics now! Keep this content coming Ricky love it!👍
Respect to Omar for letting the Riskster loose behind the wheel of this minter......it really is lovely lovely lovely. Those RS red fleck interiors of the day still look great and those Recaros....... The wheels do make this car look much better in stance. More old skool please Ricky..........big thumbs up
I had 2 Escorts and a Fiesta RS. Not the greatest cars but they are just special. This would be a lottery win purchase, one like this and one with a 2.1 ZVH. Incredible cars
I like an rs turbo, but my heart is with the fiesta rs turbo, came across one when i was driving a standard WRX and it held its own in a straight line ;)
Lovely motor, I had the same Mercury grey one on an E plate in the mid 90s, swapped it for an XR3i rag top thinking I was the dogs danglies at the time. Gotta say I’d prefer the standard RS wheels on it.
Seriously one of my dream cars this is, SERIES 2 RS TURBO. Absolutely stunning car and still to this day one of the best sounding aswell. Definitely one of my first purchases if I ever won the lottery, 100% love it
Interesting to see a young boy's perspective of an iconic 80's hot hatch, respect to the owner for recognising a good classic and keeping it on the road.
it is nice to see piece of history on the road and in this condition, just woow man :O i am 28 year old and i love older cars, if i had a lot of money these are the type of cars i will buy. sry for my bad english im from Croatia :)
Oh my fuckin god!! I made multiple messy patches!! And thats before we even saw the interior! Then we heard the mileage! Whole new outfit required!! This my childhood dream!! You will probably never see an absolutely immaculate example like this for a long fuckin time! What a car!
Just had visions of Ricky showing us how clean it is, and drops the camera on it. I used to own a black one. K&N induction kit. Magnex 4” tailpipe. Dump valve, super chipped. Gutted when I sold it, a long with many classics of my era.
Saw one of these today, patched up, with just enough life to make it home, cortinas, etc are still doing there thing near my area, but this classic is the business,
The first new car I bought was a 1988 U.S. Ford Escort GT. My first choice was an '87 Ford Mustang Notchback that was at the dealership. Since my Father was helping me with the loan he had the final say. Having a V8 5 speed my Father was a hard NO. Getting the Escort GT I immediately began looking to modify the car. That's when I discovered the British version. Every month I made my payment I cried that there was no way I could legally copy the beautiful British Escort. What an awesome ride!
Man went out in MA Developments old S2 RS Turbo back in the day. Went like stink blad. Plate was B19 LAG (T34 turbo). Wicked times. Big up Ben if you're watching!
My dream car, I'd have it purring at just over 200 bhp and leave it mint like that I love this guy he's proper into his RS turbo like I would be if it was mine I'm made up for him
Big VW GTi fanboy but I would trade a kidney for one of these.. Could only afford a S2 XR3i back in the day, and would love to own one. Brilliant Find LLF 👏, credit to the guy who's cared and cherished it 👊
I was always a golf gti man mk2 back in the day and my mates were rs turbo drivers. seeing this car brought back some good memories ..that car look wicked for the age🔥🔥
