The banana bread looks delicious 😋
Will definitely try the recipe. Love that it contains sour cream.
I often make banana bread myself, but I don‘t use sugar because I give it to my little daughter and I don‘t want her to get used to a lot of sugar at a young age. It tastes really great though, even without the sugar because of the natural sweetness of the bananas/apple.
If you two should ever have children, here’s the recipe:
I mash 2 ripe bananas and grate a sweet apple. I add an egg and 1/3 cup milled, roasted hazelnuts, depending on the size of your banana and eggs you will need to add 1-1,5 Cups of wheat or spelt flour (both works), 1 teaspoon baking powder, pinch of salt and cinamon (to your liking).
    Bake 30 min at 180C (I don‘t know how much F it is...sorry).
    Greetings from Austria

My mom’s banana bread recipes is very similar, she had a happy accident one time that turned out making her banana bread more amazing than it already was! She accidentally put the baking soda into the bowl of sour cream which turned it into a mouse like consistency! So she went with it and folded it into the batter, it made it fluffy and more moist! Toll house cookies and apple tart tatan we’re happy accidents too! She also put a 3/4 cup of mini semi sweet chips in it!

Looks great. I make a 'Snickerdoodle Banana bread' that's just heavy on the cinnamon which I'm obsessed with. One extra step to make it that bit special is to sprinkle a mix of cinnamon & sugar on the whole inside of your pan after greasing it & before adding the mixture. And then another sprinkle of it on the top of the mixture before cooking - it's extra indulgent, but gives it a nice caramelised flavour.

Ohhhh Becky, I know this recipe is gonna be good with sour cream in it... a few years ago I was looking on line for a recipe for Irish soda bread, for a St Patricks day pot luck at my apt bldg. I found a recipe that calls for sour cream and I made it...so good, like a dense cake!!! ( I do add just a bit more sugar than calls for too) I discovered that traditional Irish soda bread is a bit dry, but not the case with the recipe that I found. I am now convinced that any baked goods with sour cream is gonna be good!!! For that matter, any recipe of any kind made with sour cream is most likely gonna be good!!! Sour cream is such a wonderful thing to have around... Lol. Thanks for this very special recipe, I already know its gonna be a keeper!!! Lol. 🍃🐣🍃

I have been binge watching your videos! I have learned so much. You mentioned that you always buy salted butter which I do too. But lately I have been buying a couple pounds at a time of unsalted when I find it on sale. I like to add Himalayan salt, roasted garlic, and a mix of fresh herbs. It's an amazing butter to top a steak, chicken, steamed veggies, couscous, etc. You can roll it into a log with parchment paper and refrigerate. After it's nice and cold, you can just cut it into tablespoons, put into a freezer bag, and take out a couple tablespoons when needed.

Banana bread tip: a pinch of ground cloves amps up the banana flavor. There is a flavor compound in both bananas and cloves so adding cloves bumps up that flavor.
As you know cloves can overwhelm, so I just use a good pinch - maybe any eighth teaspoon per loaf.

I also add freshly ground nutmeg along with the cinnamon & cloves.
We love nutmeg & lots of cinnamon on top of plain Greek (Fage') yogurt with honey 🍯. Hubby loves a lot of honey in his, I just put enough to cover the top on mine & I mix it in well & serve.
The benefits of nutmeg will surprise you. Google it & be prepared to be amazed 😳 😊. I buy organic nutmeg & cinnamon- Saigon or Cylon.
I put about a tbsp of cinnamon on the yogurt & a good grinding of nutmeg on top 🥰❣

Not sure if anyone else shared this tip already:
When you check your baked goods, lift them out of the oven as quickly as is safe and close the oven door. Then you can check on whatever is needed on the countertop. Believe it or not, ovens can drop as much as 100-150 degrees in only 30 seconds of being left open, which can really affect the baking process/time. 😯
Loving your channel. I'm new and totally binging!

I’ll definitely need to try your recipe. One thing I love to do when making banana bread is roasting the bananas in their peels in the oven until the peels turn black. It caramelizes the bananas and deepens in flavor. Roast at 350 for about 12 minutes. It’s worth the extra step and adds an extra depth of flavor to the dessert. I do the same thing when making hummingbird cake! I’m looking forward to baking banana bread today. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

Next time spread peanut butter on top insted of regular butter. Any nut butter or tahini work well too.

Your recipe is almost exactly like mine! It's better with sour cream for sure!

In video you said 1/4 salt but in recipe you got 1 teaspoon of salt, is it 1 or 1/4 salt? Love your videos 🤗

I made her recipe a couple of days ago per the written instructions (1 tsp salt) instead of the 1/4 tsp that she said in the video, and it turned out really good. And I didn't realize until after I'd made it that I'd used salted butter as well. It was still delicious and not salty whatsoever. But, if I were concerned about it, I'd just split the difference and use 1/2 tsp salt and use unsalted butter.

Why do you give egg shells back to your chickens? It’s cannibalism, plus it teaches them to “eat their eggs”. Your the only person I know that does this, just trying to understand. I would think the shells would be a better use in the garden or compost pile.

Heard an expert say if you crush the shells so they don’t appear like an egg, the chickens won’t associate the crushed shells with their eggs.

That happened, the lump of butter, in the last corn bread I made. It had a hollow buttery flavored spot!

I don't know why but I love those spot if I get them. Probably because I used to eat the butter when I was a kid.

There’s nothing better than butter on warm banana bread! It may sound strange but homemade strawberry whipped butter brings it to a whole new level

I know I'm always commenting on your videos but it's so impressive for someone your age to have so much knowledge about all this stuff. Of course I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that your dental hygienist and so am I so I really pay attention to that haha period I do all the things that you do and I love all the things that you love but I probably have about 30 years on you
