Thanks so much for the review! I actually was feeling happy watching this video just because I could feel your passion and excitement for what you do. You clearly know what you're talking about and it is great that you enjoy what you do. Thanks again!
Just ordered this monitor. Glad to see your reviewing it in the class it belongs in. To many rating scales try to throw it in the gaming category and it’s just not that kinda display
Great review, well done. I like how you touch on expert subjects, drop a few keywords and say “if this is important to you, skip this model; if you don’t know what I’m talking about, this one is great for you”. I’m in the latter category and as a non-pro consumer I don’t want a review to nerd out on detail it will take me a year to fathom
Great Review - i have this monitor since 3 Weeks and i love it :-) i have buy it to use it on my Mac Book Pro with DP Port - and i hope he will make a goof Job too, on the HDMI 2.0 with AMD FreeSync on the new Xbox Series X on 60Hz. has someone already experienced with a Xbox One X in 4 K on this beauty ?
16.5" -17" in height at lowest setting. Gaming yes, but not high action. 60hz or up to 60FPS at 4K is very nice gameplay. If you are used to significantly higher FPS, you may consider a monitor with a faster refresh. This usually requires a high end GPU at 4K.
Should i buy this monitor for ps5 ? Bc i got two choices this one or the Samsung 28" 4K UHD Monitor LU28R550UQEXXY can you tell me which one to buy for ps5?
I saw your review on this monitor because I was looking for my first 4k monitor for my ps5, and I was able to snag the QS off amazon for 305 (it's always unavailable) and I love it, the picture quality is insane to me it and looks great on the ps5 and pc! 4k is such an upgrade from 1080p
You are going to be so happy. This is my favorite 27" 4k monitor. You are very lucky to snag it.... It never stays in stock for more than a few hours. Great Price also...
Thanks for your review. I was looking for a relatively affordable 4K IPS monitor for office work and productivity. This looks like it ticks all of the right boxes!
I have this running on my main desk with MacPro Desktop and Xbox Series X. Amazingly beautiful image and syncs great with xbox at 4k 60fps on fortnite and call of duty.
Awesome review! Thank you! I'm considering getting this monitor, but was also looking at the Dell 27 monitor - S2721DS, do you know what the main differences are? Aside from the DS one being 2560 x 1440 and not 3840 x 2160. Is UHD enough for 27 inch? Or does 4k really make a difference? Thank you!!
Based on stats( I have not seen one in person) Very similar except 3k at 75hz , contrast 1,000 to 1 (s2721qs is 1,300) which is a minor issue. On consoles you will likely max at 60FPS. On Pc, 75FPS max.
hopefully I can still snag this monitor but idk after this review. That last bit about subs seemed so genuine, so why not sub, its free! Thanks for the review!!
Hello, great review. What would you recommend between this Dell, Philips 276e8vjsb and AOC U27P2? I will upgrade to 4k for video editing and I haven't had any experience with these brands of monitors before.
It would've been really useful if you would've given some cons in each category; explaining why the monitor didn't get a 20/20. You did this for the Appearance/Quality...stating you would've liked a black or silver finish on the back, which is why it got 18 and not 20. I wish the other 4 categories had that type of commentary. But thank you for the review.
Good review. Get a better mike to step up the quality. Used your input to get a final confirmation on performance and buy this after reviewing 9 monitors in this range. Will be back!
Thanks for the feedback... I upgraded to the Deity D3 Pro a few videos ago, as I thought the audio needed an upgrade as well. Keep watching... I am always trying to improve.
If you asking about a stand... the original stand is quite good, but I use and articulated arm via VESA mount. I use a drilled in arm by Space Arm... I do not think they are still available. There are many out there that just clamp on. Best way to go as you have free space under monitor. The one I have can go up or down, side to side, tilt and rotate. As for computer... Apple Mac Pro Desktop with rx 5500xt GPU. All wireless APPLE trackpad and keyboard. The gpu is well suited to this monitor for price point.
Nice review mate, I just made my decision to buy this monitor because of this review. The price only like 220$ for 4k ips panel..the item out of stock in just like 1-2 hour because of the sale price.Really feel lucky to buy one
4K definitely. Unless your GPU( graphics processing unit) can’t handle it. Then I would downscale to 3K. Then, when you upgrade your computer... go 4K. You can scale the screen also to enlarge text and icons. This is what I doing. 4k with 25% magnified. Gives super sharp image with everything just a bit larger to be easier to read or see.
@@czerox16 With Mac, there is an option in SCREEN to SCALE what is displayed on the screen. It is 4K, but it basically alter the size of the icons, windows and text to show as larger. It remains 4K, but everything is larger to view. Example, with a 1080p screen the apps icons are about 1 inch in size... When in 4k, the same icons are now about 1/2 in size, or tiny. The same pixel size in 1080p makes it tiny in 4K. So, I SCALE the screen to make them look larger and easier to read.
Great great review ! good to have channels like yours! is it gonna run good if i connect it with macbook pro 219? cause in the past i had some lagging issues (i never found out why) with my Benq ew3270u
Thank you for such a nice and compact overview. Ordered this monitor 40 days ago but it just arrived today.. since the Black Friday and Cyber Monday are a fews days away.... Should I accept this one month delayed delivery with the standard price. Or should I look something else? Not sure if this will be also in offer in next days. I want a monitor for Coding. Your suggestions are welcomed.
I got the chance to see it at Micro Center… I did NOT like it. Unless you we at a perfect strait angle… text seemed distorted. Maybe ok for gaming, but not for general computing. For 32” go with the LG listed in description. It is flat and very nice image for great price.
Thanks for your review, I just have a few questions. How dim is the minimum brightness on this monitor? Is this monitor easy on the eyes at night? Also, is the material on the back of the monitor aluminum or plastic?
thanks for the review, just picked this up, so far really nice monitor, I was wondering about the freesync, Is there a option to turn it on in the monitor OSD or it just works with a DP cable hooked up? I am using a 2070 super and I enabled gsync in the control panel. I know that free sync is amd but from what I have read on other posts gsync works with freesync.
Fantastic monitor, almost no backlight bleed, picture quallity better than LG, last monitor I used was LG27UD69 and this one is way better in terms of quallity, sharpness, black level , make sure you use DP instead of HDMI
HDR on this monitor is great... I run Mac OS, so n0t sure with PC. You must activate HDR in both monitor and Computer for it to work together. I actually really like it in standard mode also. This is one of my favorite monitors and been my primary for over a year. Great colors, image and size.
I just got this monitor yesterday. What would you say are the best settings for it? I want to use it to play games (PS5 when I get it) and watch movies/youtube videos.
PC or Mac? On Mac, I keep at STANDARD thru monitor. Mac is great with colors. FPS MODE for gaming. For PC, I would experiment, but pretty good out of the box. Some like the Comfort View if you read a lot. Let me know, if you work out a a nice Custom Mode...
Speaker are fair at best... I would definitely get a 2.1 or 5.1 setup. I do not use Windows anymore... So, hard to fully comment. The screen is wicked sharp. Text enlarging will not effect sharpness. Scaling in monitor setting will, if you go for enlarging everything. I run mine at 3K and very sharp and med/small icons. Again, Mac. 4K with 27" screen will look great. If you look in description... there is the same monitor in 32" at a great price. That will be my next monitor as I can run 4K runs scaling at native(full4k) and icons and text will be the same.
@@tr3nDmaker thx for the reply , looked at the s32 but curved and va panel so passed on that. Used 4k with similar setting to you on mac and found it great. use windows for work so s2721qs or cheaper s2721ds with qhd panel . very helpful review 👍
If you are gaming at 60FPS... Absolutely! However, it looks like the PS5 will support 120FPS gaming. In which case, you will not be maxing the system. Movies and UA-cam at 4K are supported, but due to anti-piracy measures, NETFLIX will only display at 1080p.
Best feature I found. You can use both the HDMI 2.0 ports from two sources. So one from a Mac Mini and the other for a PC or Apple TV...At the same time...As it spits the screen. So you can see both at once..
Finally made he choice to upgrade, ordered from Dell yesterday. With tax and the stupid environment fee it came to 460 ish Canadian. That's I'd guess about 300 USD. I don't do any gaming but I do watch a lot of video content and I'd wanted a 4k monitor for years but a decent one has always been a little out of my budget, and the ones in the sub 500 dollar range were pretty awful. Dell looks to have made a really solid product for a bargin bin price. Hopefully I don't end up with a lemon when it arrives lol
This is the monitor on my Mac Pro and love it. I also game with Xbox Series X and it is just so great across the board. To date... Best 4K monitor for Price. Be sure to sub!
Excellent review. I just got the 2721QS and having issues with it already. Not sure if its a cable problem yet or monitor. I dont have any option for HDR and my netflix shows only show up HD and not 4k. It had HDCP in HDMI but not sure why its not working.
Netflix is a known issue for many monitors in 4K. I do not know why they added so much security that causes capability issues. 1st. Must have 4K package. It is additional cost. 2nd. Browser must support 4K, not all do like Safari. 3rd. There are setting you need to get right. 4K with Netflix is capable with this monitor. Watch one of my videos in 4K. That will conform browser is working. If no 4K, need to change browser or setting. HDR will automatically kick on if available, or should. Mac or PC?
@@tr3nDmaker I watched this in 4K lol, could see the hairs on your arm and I was like "woah thats nice" lol. The HDR I think you have to set on and off yourself, didnt see other options. I have Netflix Premium, I tried the app and website for 4k and didnt get either. I did contact their support and tried changing the setting sto "High" for playback which is one of the things they say but requires 24hrs to kick in so we will see. Overall, like you mentioned, the monitor is quite nice, very sharp.
@@Circiaify HDR is only available on some movie/ videos. Yes, if available, you will have to accept or check for HDR. It is a great monitor... so sharp. Gaming is so nice.
@@tr3nDmaker Got the 4K issue resolved. Nvidia Control Panel -> Setup multiple displays. You have to disable the lowest resolution monitor to get the 4k. So I disabled my 144hrz gaming monitor and kept the Dell checked only and now all is working.
I bought this monitor because of this review. Do you have any recommended settings for someone satisfied with 4K60FPS? Are the preset modes sufficient for most games?
I love and have on my Mac now the Dell s2721qs and it is amazing. The s3221qs, although similar #, not at all a good 32" monitor. If only gaming... its fine if you like a curved monitor... but for daily use, the text and application look warped with curve. Just my 2 cents.
Great Review, probably going to pick it up, since its on sale. Can you tell me if the dimensions on Amazon is correct? On Dell it's 16 inches tall but 20 inches tall on Amazon. Unfortunately my desk has a roof that limits the desk height for monitors.
I think the image quality and performance will be comparable. However, Mac's have a glossy screen which will give a slightly different look or feel. The dell has more of matte anti-glare finish.
@@jasonleung8633 I would not say blurry at all. I have several Macs and I actually like the slight anti-glare on the Dell monitor. With glossy monitor I get ceiling lights glaring on screen. I would suggest go to a store to see it in person to see if it for you. Its just different.
In my opinion... this dell has one of the best screens. Image and Contrast is extremely good for this price point. It is the monitor I use on my primary computer. I have not tried 1080p. Once you go 4K, you will no longer want to use 1080p, except maybe gaming.
@@tr3nDmaker I'm still confused to take 4k or fhd monitor, due I will play ps5 in performance mode. But I think it will fine even in 1080p game input because it has good panel. Thanks for recommendations
Hello from Portugal. Im thinking about buying this model on 32 inch for my ps4 pro. What do you think? I have a 27 inch philips 1080. Has a price of 350 euros right now for the 32 inch. Thank you
The 32” Dell Curved monitor is not that great., especially if you are not straight on it. if you want a 32”, go with LG straight panel. I think its listed in description. The more expensive 32” from Dell is super, but $500+.
What kind of cable did you use to set up your monitor to your Mac? I just bought a brand new Mac mini and I am so disappointed that it does not correct with the screen correctly via hdmi. :(
Just checked on newest Mac mini... You should be able to connect 1 monitor via HDMI port. MUST be HDMI 2.0. This cable should be included with monitor.
@@katier4143 You should be able to connect up with no issues via HDMI. Does Mac mini see monitor in Display Options? Are you getting any image on screen? Possibly bad cable or PORT issue on Mac. In monitor... setting to correct HDMI port? Both my Mac mini and Mac Pro connect via HDMI super easy with this same monitor.
Hi, great video! I was wondering if I connect my MacBook Pro via display port, is it going to charge my computer just like with usb-c monitors? Looking for this feature
Just received this today but unfortunately I am returning it. I got it solely for photo editing and I could not stand the difference between the monitor’s color profile compared to my Dell XPS 15. I have my Dell’s color settings tweaked to match a MacBook Pro’s color profile and also my iPhone. I immediately noticed that the standard color profile on the monitor straight out the box was warm compared to my XPS. And that sucks because it is the preset out of all that comes closest to matching my XPS but like I said it’s too warm. On UA-cam’s home page, comparing my XPS to the s2721qs, the white areas of the home page were warm and looked more off white than white when compared side by side. I spent hours changing the color settings but couldn’t get it to match my XPS so I’m returning it and investing in a monitor that’s actually meant for creatives and color accuracy. I even tried using Rtings.com post calibration ICC color profile for this monitor but it didn’t help. This monitor is great if you are just looking for a decent priced 4K display for normal use but for creatives I wouldn’t suggest it.
Matching monitors is extremely hard, especially when it comes to matching to a laptop. The monitor tend to sit high and laptops low on desk. Matte/gloss finishes and cool or warm LEDs tend to be different as well. I am not sure you will have luck with even a higher end monitor. A truly accurate monitor may make matching the two better. Likely 3X the cost though.
That’s true, it is difficult match monitors but I’m hoping that the Asus ProArt Display PA278QV is what I am looking for. I’ll be giving up the 4K and going with a 2K monitor but I’m ok with that as long as the color accuracy is there. It’s only $298 on Amazon, it would be awesome if you could do a review on that.
What changes did you perceive when applying the RTings ICC profile? I'm planning to do the same but if the results will be poor I may look into pre-calibrated monitors instead.
@@eduardoarias_photo Oh that's weird. Maybe it's not being applied properly? I've also seen comments on RTings of people not being able to get it to work. Something about windows 10 ignoring profiles. Thread in question here: www.rtings.com/monitor/discussions/5VjVMlZwPQPTDLTw/how-were-you-able-to-apply-an-icc-profile Maybe you can try applying the profile in the application itself such as Photoshop and see if there's a difference?
Hey mate, you don’t happen to know what happens to games the won’t run at 4k on a 4k monitor??? Will they downscale to 1080p, and does it still look clean image? Cheers
For the most part... games will just downscale to 1080p. Should still look clean and play well... just going to like a little dull and not as sharp compared to 4K.
I think the ASUS VG289Q looks like a great monitor. Has a great gamer look and designed with gaming as 1st priority. The Dell does claim 1300 contrast and 4ms Response Time vs 1000 and 5ms on Asus, but I think for GAMING, the ASUS will be an excellent choice and 1" more.
@@tr3nDmaker Yeah, the Asus looks like is made for gaming exclusively, i was thinking in Dell due to the higher contrast and brightness ratio, but Asus has dci-p3 colour gammut (i read it's better than sRgb for gaming), more gaming features and that 1" more. Thanks for the answer!
@@tr3nDmaker Also i want to ask you if i keep with the Asus as my main option or have to consider look for a 1080/1444p with 120/144Hz monitor for Ps5. I dont think Ps5 gonna reach 120fps in rpg games like God Of War or Cyberpunk, thats why im going for 4k 60Hz.
If you are happy with 60fps. The Asus will be great for gaming on ps5 at 4k 60fps with hdmi 2.0 cable. I have contact with several monitor companies. In early 2021, several 4k at 120hz monitors will be release, although prices unknown. If you want budget option for 120fps gaming. There are many very fast 1080p monitors that support 120/144hz. Just dont go big on monitor or you will loose detail.
@@tr3nDmaker The thing is i dont believe that PS5 can reach 120fps on its games, it is said that only in games like cod but i dont play those games. I think in my case 60Hz are enough, for the first years of gen at least. Now i'm going to wait for a good offer of the Asus because after the black friday in my country (Spain) most webs are out of stock. PD: In addition of the Asus and this Dell, do you think is there any monitor with 4k 60Hz better than those for that price (300-400€)?
Hello. I have the Asus ROG PG278QR - WQHD Monitor (144-166 HZ only on PC with Geforce on DVI). With HDMI I can only get 1080p, 60 HZ and without HDR because this are the max specs on the HDMI. Would it make sence buy the Dell S2721QS? It can 4K with HDR and 60HZ? By the Way is it possible to use this monitor in 1080p and 120 HZ? Best regards
I did a video on this because it can be quite confusing... ua-cam.com/video/3LjWigXELTI/v-deo.html. The issue is the connectivity and bandwidth of the ports vs hz of monitor. By your monitor selection... I am guessing you are a gamer! If so, I have 2 ways to go depending on console. For ps5, you either have to go 1080p or 4k, no 3k support right now. For 1080p, go smaller monitor and 120hz or higher. This will give you the 120fps gaming experience and very budget friendly. Or go 4k at 60hz and have a beautiful display at 60fps(which is still amazing). For Xbox Series X, I would go 27" at 3K with 120hz or higher. A 27" monitor with 3K will look AMAZING and with higher hz you'll get 120FPS. Best of both worlds and great price point. The new 4K 120hz monitors with HDMI 2.1 are on the market now, but over $750. Very nice, but not really worth it at this price point to me. Good luck.

I barely used what PS was capable of. As for Video Editing, I use Final Cut, Was $300, but free update. Hello! Why is this monitor no longer available? To wait or go to something else? Between Asus VG289Q and LG UL850 which would be better to use the monitor for PS5 and Macbook Pro M1. Hi
PS5 is supposed to support 120FPS gaming( not sure at what resolution that would support this). This monitor will peak at 60FPS in 4K. 60FPS is very enjoyable gaming... but it will not max potential for PS5. Maybe check out a 3K monitor with 120hz refresh. That will support 120FPS.
Hey, thanks for the info so far, i was wondering how this monitor looks when the resolution is set to 1080p resolution. ıt s a 4k native and this question is actually about pixel aligment. Normally i would not buy a 4k monitor for 27" size but i estimate that a 1080p image would look clearer on a 4k compared to a 2k because of the pixel aligment. example: my monitor shows 720p content much clearer then on 900p as 720p and 1080p are aligning much better compared to some resolutions inbetween.
It looks fine and totally playable. Native resolution will work better, but 4k will give you ability to upgrade console later and run at 4k. Once you go 4k, it will be hard to play at 1080p again. It looks sooooooo nice, even at 60fps. I prefer 4k at 60 to 1080p at 120.
@@I3ordo 1440p looks really good actually. 1080p looks good, just why spend extra money if not using it.... 3K looks super. I scale to 3k with my Mac 80% of the time. 4k is just sooooo crisp.

Just ordered this monitor. Glad to see your reviewing it in the class it belongs in. To many rating scales try to throw it in the gaming category and it’s just not that kinda display
You should be happy. Great bank for the buck. It my primary monitor right now.
All points were nicely covered for which I was looking for. Thanks a lot for making this review!
Glad to help.
Nice video. 4K, IPS panel, LED screen (I think), HDR, wow great price.
Just found your channel! Great stuff! This is what I was looking for! Dell 4K ips ! You knock this one out of the park!
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thank you.
Great Review - i have this monitor since 3 Weeks and i love it :-)
i have buy it to use it on my Mac Book Pro with DP Port - and i hope he will make a goof Job too, on the HDMI 2.0 with AMD FreeSync on the new Xbox Series X on 60Hz.
has someone already experienced with a Xbox One X in 4 K on this beauty ?
Hi, do you mind telling me the height of this monitor on it lowest level?
Have you gamed with this monitor?
16.5" -17" in height at lowest setting. Gaming yes, but not high action. 60hz or up to 60FPS at 4K is very nice gameplay. If you are used to significantly higher FPS, you may consider a monitor with a faster refresh. This usually requires a high end GPU at 4K.
Great little review buddy, thanks for making it easier to pick this one
You are welcome. Thanks for the feedback.
Should i buy this monitor for ps5 ? Bc i got two choices this one or the Samsung 28" 4K UHD Monitor LU28R550UQEXXY can you tell me which one to buy for ps5?
Thanks for the video! Wondering if the colours on this are accurate enough for a hobbyist photographer to print from?
This is the monitor on my Mac Pro right now. I still think it is amazing.

You’ve convinced me to get this now! One question -Will AMD FreeSync on this work over hdmi for Xbox and PS? Thanks so much in advance! Have subbed
Thank you so much, I very much appreciate it.
Hello, great review. What would you recommend between this Dell, Philips 276e8vjsb and AOC U27P2? I will upgrade to 4k for video editing and I haven't had any experience with these brands of monitors before.
Between the 3... I think the Dell has better stats and I am using it right now. My monitor of choice for the money right now. It is fantastic!
Great Video....you are a little fast paced....but honestly.....once the viewer catches up.....it is AWESOME!!
Thanks... I am a bit hyper... all the time!

Thanks for the feedback... I upgraded to the Deity D3 Pro a few videos ago, as I thought the audio needed an upgrade as well. Keep watching... I am always trying to improve.
Thanks for the informative review. A quick question, what would you recommend for the desktop to go with this monitor? What do you use?
If you asking about a stand... the original stand is quite good, but I use and articulated arm via VESA mount. I use a drilled in arm by Space Arm... I do not think they are still available. There are many out there that just clamp on. Best way to go as you have free space under monitor. The one I have can go up or down, side to side, tilt and rotate.
As for computer... Apple Mac Pro Desktop with rx 5500xt GPU. All wireless APPLE trackpad and keyboard. The gpu is well suited to this monitor for price point.
Wow bro, I'm sold lol thanks!! :D
Its a great monitor. You will be happy.

Nice review mate, I just made my decision to buy this monitor because of this review. The price only like 220$ for 4k ips panel..the item out of stock in just like 1-2 hour because of the sale price.Really feel lucky to buy one
That is an amazing price!
hey, great review! let me ask you since it's 4k at which resolution do you suggest to keep it at? full HD, 1440p or native? thanks
@@tr3nDmaker by magnified you mean applying downscaling? if so, to which virtual resolution? using the native resolution it's just too small
With a 2019, you should be fine. My old Mac Mini doesn't have issues, so MacBook Pro should be ok.
Just occurred to me... your lagging issue may be due to old HDMI cable that doesn’t support 4K fully. Need HDMI 2 or 2.1

Tough question... This Dell is still my favorite monitor at this time. I doubt this will sell for less than $299. What did you pay?

What do you think about the 32 inch curved version S3221QS for everyday general use, not intended for gaming? It's VA panel.
I got the chance to see it at Micro Center… I did NOT like it. Unless you we at a perfect strait angle… text seemed distorted. Maybe ok for gaming, but not for general computing. For 32” go with the LG listed in description. It is flat and very nice image for great price.
@@tr3nDmaker Thanks for the reply. Will take a look at the LG.
I hope that my like, comment, and subscription made your day 😂 great review!! keep it up ✌🏻
yes. thank you.
Great review as always! I was wondering does it appear washed-out from the sides (viewing angles) due to the Anti-Glare Feature?
I do not see any distortion unless viewing at an un-realistic real-world angle.
Thanks for your review, I just have a few questions. How dim is the minimum brightness on this monitor? Is this monitor easy on the eyes at night? Also, is the material on the back of the monitor aluminum or plastic?
It can come down quite a bit. In video, I was at about 70-75%. Also, has modes to relieve eye strain. Price just dropped $30. amzn.to/31dxcdH

Great review, thanks, Dell have this on discount in my location so went looking for reviews. Going to hit "buy" on this one. Thanks
You will be happy. Super Monitor, On my Mac and Series X now.
thanks for the review, just picked this up, so far really nice monitor, I was wondering about the freesync, Is there a option to turn it on in the monitor OSD or it just works with a DP cable hooked up? I am using a 2070 super and I enabled gsync in the control panel. I know that free sync is amd but from what I have read on other posts gsync works with freesync.
I am not 100% on this. But, I would confirm in your computer settings. Monitor in FPS mode, in menu.
Fantastic monitor, almost no backlight bleed, picture quallity better than LG, last monitor I used was LG27UD69 and this one is way better in terms of quallity, sharpness, black level , make sure you use DP instead of HDMI
Great advise on DP cable.
Thank you for this fantastic review sir! I know that monitor speakers are generally not good, but how is the 3W speakers on this?
There ok and would work well in a office environment or until a separate stereo speaker setup can be added.
You can hear sound, but speakers are small and point down. Ok to Fair. I would not use as primary means for audio.
How is HDR on this Monitor? Does it work good? Are you able to adjust settings such as Color in hdr mode?
Any thoughts on text quality at 150% , 125 % scaled in windows. And are speakers actual usable in your opinion.Thx

Great review, thank you very much. I am waiting for the monitor to arrive next week...
Greets!
Awesome!
Do you think this would be a good monitor for the ps5 and watching movies?
If you are gaming at 60FPS... Absolutely! However, it looks like the PS5 will support 120FPS gaming. In which case, you will not be maxing the system. Movies and UA-cam at 4K are supported, but due to anti-piracy measures, NETFLIX will only display at 1080p.
I could not have said it better myself. Perfect reply.
Good review! Great energy too! Try editing a little more to give yourself a breather. Other than that, very informative and straight forward!
Thanks for the feedback... This was one of my 1st videos where I tried to run 1 long shot. Now, I edit a much faster style with many edits.
Best feature I found. You can use both the HDMI 2.0 ports from two sources. So one from a Mac Mini and the other for a PC or Apple TV...At the same time...As it spits the screen. So you can see both at once..
Very cool. I have mac pro and xbox series x that I switch back and forth throughout the day… but never both at once.
Be sure to sub!

great video lad. can i know if this works well with Mac Mini M1? Thanks
It should have no issues, as my older Mac Mini has no issues. Also, works perfect on my Mac Pro.
The HDR I think you have to set on and off yourself, didnt see other options. hello...... please help me ... do i buy Dell S2722QC or DELL D3221QS Monitor 4k Curved 32inch ?
I love and have on my Mac now the Dell s2721qs and it is amazing. The s3221qs, although similar #, not at all a good 32" monitor. If only gaming... its fine if you like a curved monitor... but for daily use, the text and application look warped with curve. Just my 2 cents.
Great Review, probably going to pick it up, since its on sale. Can you tell me if the dimensions on Amazon is correct? On Dell it's 16 inches tall but 20 inches tall on Amazon. Unfortunately my desk has a roof that limits the desk height for monitors.
Actual screen portion of monitor is 25" wide x 14.25". The variation you are seeing is probably stand at lowest and highest settings.
With stand on lowest setting... total height is 16 1/2”.

Hi. It is good for coding? Text is sharp and crispy?
Yes. Text looks amazingly sharp.
Great review! I am having this monitor as well but I reckon it is not as good as my macbook pro monitor. What do you think?
I think the image quality and performance will be comparable. However, Mac's have a glossy screen which will give a slightly different look or feel. The dell has more of matte anti-glare finish.
@@tr3nDmaker oh right the anti glare finish makes it look a bit blurry. Thanks for the reply!
@@jasonleung8633 I would not say blurry at all. I have several Macs and I actually like the slight anti-glare on the Dell monitor. With glossy monitor I get ceiling lights glaring on screen. I would suggest go to a store to see it in person to see if it for you. Its just different.

That is a great question... which I do not know the answer. My initial thought is probably not, maybe a viewer can jump in and give the answer.
@@tr3nDmaker no it won’t charge via DisplayPort.
@@chibistar12 none to be honest. When I applied the icc profile it just made it look like the standard preset.
@@eduardoarias_photo Oh that's weird. Maybe it's not being applied properly? I've also seen comments on RTings of people not being able to get it to work. Something about windows 10 ignoring profiles. Thread in question here:
www.rtings.com/monitor/discussions/5VjVMlZwPQPTDLTw/how-were-you-able-to-apply-an-icc-profile
Maybe you can try applying the profile in the application itself such as Photoshop and see if there's a difference?

I play on Series X via HDMI, and never seen any screen issues. Not sure if that is accurate.

I'm choosing between this Dell and Asus VG289Q, in displayninja recommend Asus bc has a wider gammut color and 1" more, what do you think?
Good luck.
@@tr3nDmaker thank u. But is it possible to get 120 hz with 1080p with this Dell Monitor in your video?
Hi!! Thanks for this nice content. I would like to ask about igpu. my laptop uses ryzen 4500u and it's integrated graphic. There is no video card. So, If I buy this 4k monitor, My laptop can perfectly play 4k videos and will it be smooth? (I will not play games).
According to some... it does run 4K at 60. You may have to turn on or off hardware acceleration in your browser settings to make it work smoothly. 4K at 30 fps should be no problem.
Be sure to sub!
@@tr3nDmaker In this condition, do you suggest me to go 4K or 1080p (Dell 27’’ S2721H? I’m a also master student and price difference is 125 euro for me. 4K or 1080p? Thank you for your answer!!
What is your laptop model number? Ill check it out for you... Also, You may consider a 3K monitor. At 27" 3K looks AMAZING. And the GPU should have no problem running 3K at 60FPS/ HZ. Hope this helps. I scale mine Dell s2721qs to 3K anyways to make icons and text more readable.
@@tr3nDmaker Thank you very much for that much helping! Also, Can I arrange 4k as a qhd? If I use 4k screen in qhd or 1080p resolution, can it work more than 60hz? @@mehmetsahin4130 You can scale the resolution and this will help... The Hz on monitor is set to 60hz regardless of resolution so up to 60fps for gaming. I am using this for Xbox Series X and my Mac Pro. Looks amazing... so happy.
I actually think you will be fine at 4k. May need to adjust a few setting? It may be fine. Of course if you scale down... You are perfect. 3K will look amazing. Big plus with this monitor is... You are future proofing yourself for next computer.
Any idea about the wallpaper on the Dell monitor on the boxart?
Looks very vibrant and beautiful.
I can not find the exact one Dell uses. Pretty cool. Found a few very close. Look up... abstract wallpaper

I am planning to get a Dell s2721hn, which is a budget 27"/1080p monitor.
Can you shed some light on it's overall quality?
@@main_stream_media_is_a_joke I think for price point... it is a very nice IPS 1080p 75hz monitor. Are you gaming?
@@tr3nDmaker Not just gaming, but general purpose usage.
I play SP games so 60hz is no issue.
What I am looking for is good color reproduction, vibrancy.
Does the matte screen cause washed out colors, since I believe all these Dell monitors are using the same AG 3H hard coating.
@@main_stream_media_is_a_joke Dell IPS panels are excellent. I have not seen this exact model... but, based on specs and $$$, I think you will be very happy. As for matte finish... almost all monitors except apple are matte. I very much like the matte finish Dell uses. it is light and does not affect image in my opinion. Let me know if you like it or not? Just purchased this and a dell XPS 17 9710 with I9processor 32 gigs ram and 2 tb ssd for photo and video editing
That is a nice setup... What software for video and photo editing?
@@tr3nDmaker I am using Adobe elements for both, what do you recommend?
@@Crowbirdvideos Adobe Elements works well. Good Price and Many Features. When a PC user, I used Elements for a while and later went to Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
One of main reason I switched to Mac is the Lifetime one time fee for most software. Now, I use Affinity Photo which is very powerful smaller version of Photoshop for $50(free updates). I barely used what PS was capable of. As for Video Editing, I use Final Cut, Was $300, but free update.
It was killing me to be buying updates every few years at $300 a program for Adobe plus huge initial price.
My advice... stick with Elements until you become frustrated with what you would "like to do" vs "what you can do".
Good Luck.
Great video
thanks
Which would be better to sit next to an iMac...the 4k in this video or the UltraSharp?
I am running a self built i7 mac pro with 5500 xt with the s2721qs. If by some accident... my monitor was damaged. I would by the exact monitor again. It is so under priced for what it is... I game on it also with xbox series x. It just about perfect.
@@tr3nDmaker thanks for that, clutch response time...I’ll make plans to get it then.
@@adrian_sanchez The only reason to get the Ultra is if you are Graphics Designer Professionally. With the s2721qs, I do all my videos on FCPX and Logos, graphics and thumbnails with Affinity Photo. I am a 4 month review of dell in a week or so... adding xbox gaming additionally.

@@tr3nDmaker It's actually not for me...it's for a co-worker. She wants a monitor to match her 27in "glossy" iMac. And Dell is one of our approved vendors and the budget is sub $500. Needless to say, i have to compromise but at least the brightness is pretty good. Just wasnt sure if the ultrasharp or the 4k mattered in terms of colors and brightness. She likely won't be doing the full resolution anyway (older woman). It's basic data entry stuff activity. Way overkill, but it's what they want.
@@adrian_sanchez Should be a great choice. Just note the Dell has a matte finish vs glossy of Mac. The image and colors will be comparable... but side by side will appear different due to finish. 95% of monitors have a dull or matte finish.

Hello! Why is this monitor no longer available? To wait or go to something else? Between Asus VG289Q and LG UL850 which would be better to use the monitor for PS5 and Macbook Pro M1. Hi
I like the LG UL850. Nice monitor for across the board use and gaming. I have a link in description for Amazon link.
Thank you for the answers! I will order lg ul850. Good evening and good luck sir!
@@blojunarcis1 you should be very happy.
Would this be a good monitor for gaming specifically for ps5
@@tr3nDmaker so by your answer can we say, 1080p resolution is clearer, (no blur) compared to 1440p resolution on this 4k monitor.?
@@I3ordo 1440p looks really good actually. 1080p looks good, just why spend extra money if not using it.... 3K looks super. I scale to 3k with my Mac 80% of the time. 4k is just sooooo crisp.
@@tr3nDmaker my sole purpose of asking this was to get the best visuals off a ps5 at performance mode which works on 1080p resolution as ps5 do not have 1440p resolution option.
Sorry… you mentioned 1440. Some , like myself use monitor for both gaming and computer. For best visual… go 4k at 60hz(60fps). For faster game play go 1080p with 120 or 144hz(120fps) If you can afford it… go 4k at 120/144hz and get both 4k at 120fps.
Amazing review keep it up my guy
Appreciate it!
which to get S2721Q or VG289Q ? i have hard time to choose one of this
Between s2721q and VG289Q... I would get the VG289Q! However, between s2721qs and vg289q... It is a very tough call. Both are excellent and you would be happy with either... I would probably lean toward VG289Q due to extra inch of screen and gamer look. Specs are very similar and both will perform excellent.

Dell S2721DGF vs Dell S2721QS for ps5 which is ok! Thanks!
For ps5... go Dell s2721qs. You get 4k at 60fps. As of now... the dgf will downscale to 1080p @ 120fps.
If Xbox series x, id go with the 3k s2721dgf, as it supports 3k at 120.

Great review mate. Love your energy!
thanks.
Great Price for a beginner gaming monitor. Dell monitor works great for PS5 and Xbox Series. The most bang for the buck!
I 100% agree with you!
Dell's current specs for this are listed at 300cd, not 350cd
I don't know if they changed it or if its simply an error...
I see the 350 spec in more places and in my original docs... Compared to the 300 of LG 27UL550, It is definitely brighter. I compare the 2 and you can clearly see the brighter screen from Dell s2721qs. ua-cam.com/video/-mCyru5ucyY/v-deo.html
@@tr3nDmaker Much thanks for the answer! For all I know, Dell could be selling differently specked monitors in the US vs the EU. ...Or not ;-)
This model came out #1 in a rather large and thorough comparison test, with one minor complaint being a lack of brightness. (though that test was not the place where I got the number from, that was a very detailed spec sheet from a price comparison site.. Given its excellent energy star rating, that seemed plausible enough, but Dell's numbers should definitely be more likely to be correct...
What brightness and contrast do you run on this monitor?
I run standard setting. No tweaks. I do not think it needs any for most use. Running Mac Pro Desktop.
