In one of SocialJustice Girl's, I mean supergirl's episode, supergirl was walking into a party that she was not invited to. And when she tried to enter, the security guard (simply doing his job) told her that she wasn't invited. And as supergirl refused to leave, the security guard had to escort her out (like how any security guard should do), but as he was trying to do that, Social Justice girl punched him in the stomach and said "Don't ever touch a woman!". This show is cancer.

I mean hell, how many Alternate realities are there where Superman/Girl are Evil and ruling the world compared to those where they're still good? Not a lot. Gabriel Tejada - Japan is a country and has different kinds of people just like here... difference is they have centuries of tradition. There’s going to be some Anime with stronger female characters because the creators want that, but in no way is Anime infested with political ideologies, mainly social ones being pushed by the writers. Sure you can find some, but I’ve noticed the majority of anime still portrays women as subservient, unless they are the hero or main character. Regardless, Anime focuses on an actual story, and characters who might “happen to be gay” or happen to be androgynous, but the story isn’t about that, or doesn’t focus on it. That’s why comic fans agree that Anime isn’t tainted by American politics. Leftist comic creators and artists feel they need to insert their political ideology in their stories and characters. I think it’s in bad taste. Just because you lean left, or however far in either direction, doesn’t mean that you should alienate half of your fan base, to push ideas on young people who haven’t grown up yet and been able to objectively see everything in the world.
Back when I read comics, there was some political commentary, but it stayed focus on characters and the story, it was fiction. Now, they’re just trying to blatantly push an agenda.

All these people saying Supergirl is stronger than Superman obviously don't know what they're talking about. Superman is the only descendant of the Kryptonian God Rao. That's why Superman is still considered "super" even when comparing him to other kryptonians (read "The Last God of Krypton"). Superman has the perfect Kryptonian genes its been stated in the comics before. Superman has complete mastery and control over his power while Supergirl clearly does not. Not to mention Superman is more experienced in hand to hand combat than Supergirl because of his training from Mongul, Wildcat, Batman and Wonder Woman. Seriously, show me any feats that proves that Supergirl is stronger than Superman. Lol you can't because you won't find any.
Superman have accomplished more impressive feats than Supergirl. If Supergirl is more powerful than Superman then how come Wonder Woman defeated her with no effort? Whenever Superman and Wonder Woman fights it usually comes to a draw and sometimes Superman comes out on top just a tad bit. Superman have a lot more potential than Supergirl. So stop it with these "Supergirl is more powerful than Superman" nonsense.

I've been rewatching it. There is the occasional political episode, but the messages were much more wholesome, accurate and less divisive than the SJW propoganda machine.

Smallville seemed pretty bad at the time but we did not know how good we had it back then. Back then all we had to deal with was bad writing and acting. At least they were trying and they weren't pushing any SJW shit.

I think that the 2 things are linked..the writing is bad and the dialogue is cringy BECAUSE they are spending more time writing stories filled with messages about real world politics and trying to effect real world change than they are on writing good stories.

I suppose that may be subjective and depends on what the viewer considers to be super political...it seems like the show has always had politics in it; but maybe you have a point...maybe there was less in season 1. What do you consider to be the worst time it went super political?
Maggie's dad saying that line about "they want to build a wall" really stuck out to me because 1) they already established that the president is an alien lady, and 2) this world has all sorts of teleportation technology. Who wants to build a wall in universe? What good would it do when people can just teleport? The writers care more about making a heavy-handed social/political statement than actually writing a coherent story.

I actually stopped watching all the cw dc shows each for different reasons. Arrow because of the whiney nature of the characters always questioning and complaining when Arrow had to do something. Super Girl for the reasons you stated. Flash because it's just so repetitive. I sometimes still watch legends but that too is getting boring. I really wish DC would let whoever writes for their animated movies just write for the rest of their media because DC animated universe is tight.

@@damotoneko1500 It had a good initial concept -- especially with Superman staying in the shadows, respecting Kara's wish for independence, and letting her do her thing, but as the show went on, they completely deviated from that concept, literally took away Kara's independence even in terms of storytelling -- where they killed Supergirl's story and practically made her into a female Superman, replacing all her original enemies with Superman's -- started making it more cringy, showed no respect for the DC comics and their characters (I was so angry with how they treated Maxima), and blew the whole thing way out of proportion, killing its magic/suspence and essence. Completely amateur work (with a high budget). Honestly, B movies are better than this...

Politics have existed in novels, tv shows, and movies forever. Stories are written based off of people, and the world they live in, so social issues are nearly always present in mediums that tell a story. This is nothing new.

I stuck with this show through mid-season 2, walked away, and never looked back (not even on the crossover episodes). The best thing Wonder Woman could (and did) do was to focus on her as a strong character, not her as a woman. I literally lost count of the time Cat Grant, Supergirl, or some other minority character lamented how they felt mistreated because they were a woman, black, gay, Hispanic, or some combination thereof.
Praise the Gods, someone with actual sense. You’d think that after seeing how well Wonder Woman did compared to both CW AND the rest of the DCCU, they’d at least TRY and focus on following that same approach. Instead we get this nonsense...... *heavy sigh*

I don't care about Jimmy being black, I just don't see why they would change his personality; it's basically creating a new character. What was the point of naming him Jimmy. I feel the same about the new Titans show with Starfire; the shows character description said she's a "no-nonsense, take no prisoners visitor to our world"; does that sound like Starfires personality to anyone? Why can't TV Kara be more strong and independent, than sweet little Kara who's apparently weaker than her cousin when she's not (least in some of her stories). How many times has she fought villians, lost, ask for help, got help, then act like she was so powerful? This show had SO much potential and it just didn't go well. Srry. I rant when aggravated. 😑

I lost it honestly with Nia Nal. Like, I don’t mind honestly that the character is supposed to be trans. But it was VERY forced and I don’t think they handled it in a good way. And then making her an alien on top of that kinda counteracts the trans part. Because now she suddenly has genetic powers that only some born females of her planet have? That doesn’t seem possible. The fact of having a transgender alien is off to me simply because of how little they can do now for humans irl. Like they are just getting to the point where trans females can have female parts. I highly doubt that an alien can be trans and have genetic abilities that only some females of her race have.
I’m sticking around for Red Daughter and that’s it. Unless somehow they drop this bs.

yea I thought Supergirl had potential too but after three episodes i had face-palmed so many times that I gave up. I tried to get back to it but it was so crinje. It is a sub-par Smallville. And it is shocking considering that Smallville happened in the early 2000s about ten years before and it was much superior. You would think things would evolve with times. A show that I think feels like an evolved Smallvile is Riverdale. It tackles things in a similar way yet it's more edgy.

I watched the Flash, Arrow, Supergirl crossover event elseworlds but couldn't finish it due the the last episode which is the Supergirl focused one. They had Superman in the episode and he was just there to need to be saved by Supergirl and Lois Lane and to then talk about how the world doesn't need Superman when it has Supergirl and that women are better in a crisis.

Yep. I used to fast forward and skip the lesbian scenes. I started to skip nearly half of the episode. It added nothing to the story of Supergirl. I have stopped watching all the CW Arrowverse. My son loves the Flash. He wants to watch the Flash run. He doesn't care about sex anything. The whole let's make his daughter a lesbian thing just ruined it. With a lot of his plotlines lately, his only defining character trait is that he's black. Especially with Guardian. I don't think the writers know what to do with him.

Oh my GOD, thank you! When I saw the S2 finale episodes were titled "Resist" and "Nevertheless, She Persisted," that should have been it for me. But I stupidly tried to power through S3 and they ruined even more classic heroes for me. The writers DO actually suck.

lee anthony I haven’t watched super girl since season 2 but that part makes a bit sense since Lois is the top reporter in the DC universe but yeah with the flash it’s out of hand considering he beat reverse flash, zoom, and savitar. At this rate we have to wait for Gotham to return since it’s the only good DC show at the moment but then again it’s in its last season

Why is it now necessary to almost be force to have a gay character on a tv show. And I have absolutely not one single problem with gay characters on tv shows and movies it’s just that now I feel like they are being forced. If your going to put gay characters on tv shows make there story line for coming out actually well written and no over bearing to the views. Or just make that character gay from the beginning of the series and just make them a character who happens to be gay and I guarantee it will be a better show for that reason alone. Best example I can think of is Degrassi: the next generation (the one that was made from like 2005 till 2012 that had the rapper drake in it) there was a gay character on there named Marco and this was way before all this SJW bullshit and they made his story line in that show actually interesting and made you want to see what might happen next with him and this was on a show with like 8 important characters and there writers never once made a story line worse just to have it so do what they did and stop forcing people onto shit that nobody cares about anymore.
Lethal Weapon and Brooklyn Nine Nine both do good jobs imho. Coincidentally both have gay police captains as main characters but it's just one aspect of their character and not their only storyline. They're people who happen to be gay not gay people who happen to be police captains if you know what I mean.
Neal Gillett exactly I enjoy both of those shows quite a bit and I like how they do that you know both the captains are gay but it’s not forced down your throat and on leathal weapon the only time you even hear about it is when Mourtaugh or Riggs/cole (depending on what season your watching) ask the captain a personal question about his home life because there characters are friends and you do see it more in Brooklyn nine-nine but it was established in one of the first episodes of season one and it’s not a huge deal. If shows would handle it like those two it would be much better.
Bakema NL I understand that also sometime it feels like they just throw crap into movies and tv shows that make no sense but they want to make everyone happy but end up making a movie or tv show just confusing and weird. Kind of like the arroverse tv shows Arrow in my opinion is the only one that has actually done it correctly with there gay and lesbian characters like when Sarah came back and it turned out she was bi sexual it was done correctly and was a good way to bring in some more of the league of assasins because nissa was her girlfriend that was a good way to do it and made sense with the story line. And then with Curtis he just happened to be gay nothing more or less. And then the rest just seem like they are putting gay/lesbian characters in for the hell of it with the exception of the flash because there haven’t been really enough on that show to make a big difference.
Minorities are underrepresented positively in movies and television. We all know that but they are overcorrecting the problem. When they make a minority a president or CEO of a company that's fine but it comes undone when they start talking about minorities being persecuted and oppressed. That's a story to tell when I watch the Thurgood Marshall or Jackie Robinson story not when I'm trying to watch superheroes punch each other through buildings and pick up tanks.
They even made Constantin gay on legends. It’s going out of control.
I powered through season 2 and just couldn’t do it anymore. It’s like a bunch Berkeley students are show runners. The show is soulless and all it does is propaganda and they do a shit job of trying to pass it as a story. All of the CW shows are being pushed to be a SJW mouth piece and not in a subtle way. At least Star Trek, New Gen and Voyager weaved their social commentary in a story where it wasn’t patting themselves on their back or virtue signaling, they actually made you think and evaluate real world issues and allowed you to make your own mind up. They treated the fans with respect, they treated us like we did have a mind of our own. Today’s SciFi/fantasy all it does is remove our ability to think because they want to do the thinking for us and just make us into a Borg/Hive collective.
