Kinda sad that the Pillowtown vs Blanketsburg episode didn't make the top 10. That episode really shows how much Community can do when it's forced to use so little. Also, they absolutely nailed the PBS documentary style for the episode. And the bit about the confusing battleground names is top tier.

The puppet episode is the only episode i ever consistently skip on rewatch, so I'm surprised it didn't make it on the list. Ironically enough, for all of its flaws, the season 4 paintball episode actually had one of my favorite jokes of the show. It's when Troy faces off against evil Troy and evil Troy states one of them is out of bullets. Idk why but it gets me every time. Maybe it's just Donald's perfect delivery and comedic timing idk.

Strong agree. The puppet episode is the only one is my pick for worst episode and the only one I skip. The emotions all ring false, the “revelations” feel out of character (if not full character assassination), and the guest stars and songs are cringey and wasted.

Documentary Filmmaking: Redux is one of my favorite episodes.
“Mr. Guzmán, Luis, thank you, and can I just say, I loved you in… innnnnnnnnnnnnn- IMDb.” and “Ok, you get this wrong one more time? I’m segregating the school.”, SUCH UNDERRATED LINES. And then to end it all off?, the dean, just burnin his university degree and rubbin the ashes on his completely naked body while wailin like a wild animal, fuckin perfect episode in my opinion.

Every time I watch the DND episode I think about alternate timeline where Chevy Chase isn't pure ego, works with Dan to craft the character of Pierce, and getting his late career emmy, solidifying his legacy. He was really amazing in this role, and I think if there'd been a better relationship between actor and showrunner, that character would've been peak. Every time he uses the amulet to make Neil's character fat I cackle, he's so good

Legacies aren't stagnant, they change as time passes. It's why Walk Disney was known as a genius artist in his time, and now most people think of him as an avowed anti-semite with a weird cryogenic freezing kick. I’m surprised the Contemporary American Poultry didn’t make it on here, despite being mentioned several times. It sets up Troy’s monkey for one of the show’s best episodes, it allows Abed to leave his scope for even just a moment, showing that he wants to connect with people even more than he lets on, and the one to pull him out of his delusion is Jeff, the person that he had the best relationship. I do love the My Dinner with Andre Dinner with Abed Episode, but this is the one I CONSISTENTLY rewatch. On top of that, it has really solid jokes and even perfect character moments, like Pierce not allowing Travis in, or them naming the monkey thanks to a poll.

No matter how many times I watch it, I cry when Abed "dies" in the lava, and then again at how Britta understand the seriousness of helping Troy to revive him. It's beautiful.
By now, many people may have noticed, but the very next episode after Troy leaves, at the end Professor Hickey is home watching the news. The lower crawl on the news reads, *"Actor LaVar Burton and non-celebrity guest captured by pirates."* I had seen that episode 6 or 7 times, but happened to pause it to grab something and when I came back, I noticed it. Laughed myself silly!!! 😅🤣😆

THANK YOU! I feel like Regional Holiday Music is the single most underrated episode of the show. It’s not that it’s insanely good (I mean it is but whatever) but I audibly laugh so loudly every time I watch it. Every second of it is funny. Shirley’s “I’m scared to go into the study room, there’s so many top hats in there” line is so unexplainably funny to me, and every song slaps. Remedial Chaos Theory is the best episode imo (Basic Lupine Urology is a close second if not tied first) but RHM takes the cake for funniest.

I'm personally mixed about Jeff taking anti-aging pills in G.I. Jeff. On the one hand I think the theme of aging and things naturally coming to an end was thematically appropriate for community at the time because the show was also naturally dying out and thing were becoming less non-sensicle, so a desperate grasp to when times were good and things didn't have to make sense made it feel like the characters were reacting to it the same way as the audience did and it made me like the maturing cast of characters a litte more. On the other hand I dont think Jeff would be stupid enough to take anti-aging pills and even the concept of them existing and knocking you out is somehow more implausible than seeing the world in claymation to the point where it feels forced and not particularly subtle.

I know that my love for this episode probably comes from it being the series finale, but it's my favourite finale of any sitcom. Jeff at the start of the show thinks he will just "speedrun" community college to get back to his old job, but instead he finds family and is the one who can't accept it ends. He is the viewer in that episode that doesn't want the show to end, but realizes that everything must meet the end. Doesn't matter if it's a show or a chapter of our lives. Plus I love the concept that there is no "hard" ending like in some shows. Life just goes on for characters and we can imagine our own final season.

@@TheBloobster I really don’t care much about how “realistic” an ending is. I instead care about an actual satisfying conclusion. It doesn’t need to be “big and dramatic”, I would have just liked SOME kind of ending. Jeff at least GOT an ending, while Britta is completely ignored. That’s just really disappointing to me.
And who the hell actually wants Community, the wacky genre parody sitcom to be super realistic? Realism has never been what the show is about. If grown adults treating paintball games like they’re life or death isn’t too unrealistic, then the plot following the basic conventions of a story isn’t too unrealistic either.

@@elijahfordsidioticvarietys8770 I completely disagree... They use those crazy circumstances to tell real stories about people's feelings.
The genre bending and parody are all just a filter for the deeper stories. One person getting a normal ending was quite cathartic for people like me.

@@TheBloobster ok, fine you can have your opinion. I would just prefer if all the characters ended on at least some sort of conclusive note. I also do not consider her ending “normal” as much as “non-existent”.

@@elijahfordsidioticvarietys8770 "normal" in the sense that her life just keeps going... no big dramatic change. She already had a job, and an apartment... I see what you're saying, really, but the only other ending they ever alluded to was her psych degree, and she's didn't get that yet.
It would be rly weird if suddenly she got a call from the Bartenders Association of the United Kingdom and flew away like Abed.
